I got some Tone Body Wash samples awhile ago from some (non-Chick Advisor) promotion and realized I never tried them out, well, this week has been one for experimenting! I really loved the Almond Milk version and now it was time to rest out the Sugar Glow.
Real talk: I don't generally like body exfoliants, I find they are too abrasive for my skin and don't leave it feeling moisturized, keeping this in mind I gave it a shot anyway.
Results? I didn't mind the Tone Sugar glow, it smelled good, not too sweet with no distinctive flavour notes, but it'll do. The exfoliating crystals weren't as sharp as others I've tried and it moisturized a bit. I wish it moisturized more though, I had to slather myself in body butter about 20 minutes after my shower.

Well, those days are over. This body wash smells fantastic, it doesn't have that cloying vanilla smell that most other almond products has, it skirts more over to the cocoa butter side of the sweet & rich scent landscape. It lathers like a dream and is extremely moisturizing and left my skin soft and I smelled fantastic. I received compliments on my body wash! I was blown away. I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to anybody looking for an affordable body was that cuts no corners. Love it.

I used to use Dove when I was younger and less informed about what my skin can and cannot handle, that being said, I signed up for the Dove ChickAdvisor product review to give this classic brand another chance to wow me, but unfortunately it didn't.
I have sensitive skin and back when I did use Dove, I had to use their sensitive line of products because the smell of the regular line was too strong. This still has not changed, I wasn't very happy with the hit of super floral I got every time I pulled this bar of soap out to use.
It's ok for moisturizing but only for certain parts of the body. Hands, body, legs, feet, do not get this ANYWHERE near your face. I tried, just to see what would happen and I was ruddy and my skin felt super dry for days, my face was super unhappy with me and I knew it was a BAD decision. In the shower I much prefer a liquid soap because I prefer that lather and it doesn't leave a residue on my skin.
All in all, ot's still just an average cream soap bar, I'll use these until I run out but I won't go and buy them again any time soon.

I received this as a gift recently, which confused me because I thought this line had been discontinued ages ago but I guess it's still alive and kicking.
I'm very picky with my hand lotion, it can't leave my hands dry or moist and unfortunately this one is the former. It's an uber-thick cream that really requires a good hand-wringing to settle on your skin and leaves a tight residue on your skin afterwards. It dries out my cuticles and while it does keep my hands soft, it drives me crazy when my cuticles are dry so I'm not buying this one again.
The scent is nice and light however, mildly perfume-y but very much just a slight aroma rather than a scent, and it does smell a bit fruity though not as pear-like as I would've imagined.

Now, for all intents and purposes the Hard Candy Walk the Line eye liner is actually a great quality product for such a low price. The brush is good, it can paint super accurate lines and the colour really sticks to the eyes and lasts for an entire day.
My only real problem with the product is the wand. The wand is very thick at the base and hard to get an accurate grip of and the distance between the brush at the end and the place you hold is too bloody long. It's almost unwieldly, I find that it's so unstable that I slip up most of the time and have started only to apply this eyeliner when I have more than 10 minutes to apply my makeup.
So unfortunately this product does not replace my Annabelle or Quo eyeliner which is about twice the price but worth every penny.

I find that most detangling sprays either leave my hair GREASY, oily or smell atrocious and haven't used one in years despite finding myself wishing for one every once in awhile. I received the Pantene Aqua Light after the Pantene Blow Out event and I've used it for about two weeks now and found that it does none of the above!
It's a very lightweight product that requires a few shakes to activate and leaves my hair much easier to blow dry and comb through. The smell is very light and settles rather quickly so it's not overwhelming nor do you smell of hairspray.

I got a chance to try out this product at the Pantene Blowout in early April 2012 and let me tell you it's changed my hair!
I have lots of hair, enough that people think my hair is thick when really, it's thin but there's a lot of it. Often I find my hair gets greasy in about 36 hours and it sucks I also don't exasperate my hair by washing it every day and basically do everything the hair experts say to do! But I find when I go without conditioner, my hair lacks a certain shine which makes me sad :(
But Pantene Aqua Light seems to stem the greasy tide just a bit. The three set (shampoo, conditioner and spray) work together to leave my hair light and manageable after washing and drying. Almost TOO light, I often now need to put something on TOP to keep it from being all sexy and wispy (seriously, who would guess that would happen?)
I'm going to stick with it for now, see how it develops. But you CANNOT air dry with this stuff, it doesn't work, trust me, blow dry only.

I've tried organic shampoo, shampoo for colour treated hair (despite my colour being au naturale) you name it. I also don't exasperate my hair by washing it every day and basically do everything the hair experts say to do!

I'm very picky, it needs to moisturize, to get nice and sudsy and it needs to smell amazing. Not just nice, not just pleasant, not pretty, A-MAZ-ING. I'm not kidding. I will smell 20 body washes until I find one that I like, then it still has all my other hoops to jump through.
That being said, I think I've finally found my body wash match made in heaven, and it's the Aveeno Energizing Body Wash. It smells like lemongrass, rosemary and mint and literally makes me HAPPY every single time I use it in the shower. The smell is truly envigorating and is a great way to wake yourself up in the morning. It's also a larger bottle than others at it's price point for sensitive skin.

As a sensitive skin person, trying to find an effective and not painfully expensive eye makeup remover is not an easy task. While I do enjoy Clinique's Eye Makeup Remover, I can't really afford it all the time, so for the past few months I've been exploring other options.
Imagine my surprise when the standout winner of this drugstore challenge was none other than Nivea's cream based eye makeup remover. I'm always a bit wary of the cream based solutions as they can sometimes coat the eyelash and become quite annoying and stubborn to wipe off, but I've had none of these problems with Nivea's solution.
Also, when I accidentally get this in my eye, I'm not swearing from top to bottom.
It removes even the darkest, most stubborn waterproof eyeliner and mascara. I don't find myself waking up in the morning with extra raccoon eyes from errant makeup that was never removed in the first place. It does a bang-up job of pretty much removing everything.
Also? $10! A win, win situation.
