So I got this free from Chick Advisor along with a daily moisturizer (Which I did NOT love!). I didn't mind this product though! As stated on the bottle, it's fragrance free so it doesn't have much of a smell when you use it. This can be good if fragrances or perfumes tend to irritate your skin. To be honest, I may have liked it a little more if it DID have a mild, fresh scent to it, but since it is advertised as being fragrance free, I can't really say anything bad about the lack of smell. It's a clear gel so it goes on kind of thick and works into a lather - this is definitely heavier and not a foam cleanser. I found it rinsed off similarly to other gel cleansers I have used (takes a bit more work than a lighter foam) and it left my skin feeling clean, with no irritation or redness. Overall this was not a bad product - it was pretty much as advertised! However, I will say that as with many Aveeno products, I do find this to be a tad pricy. It worked fine, but I don't know if it works any better than my usual (cheaper) gel cleanser. And I prefer the scent and clean feeling my typical brand gives me over this product. Had I not received it for free I probably never would have purchased it on my own. Having said that, if you have sensitive skin and like other Aveeno products (and don't mind shelling out the $$ for them) then I would recommend trying this product! -

So I got this product for free to try from Chick Advisor. I will say I am often hit and miss with Aveeno products - some I love, and some I don't. Unfortunately, this is one that I don't love. First off the good points. It advertises that it is fragrance free and I would say this is accurate. Although it does have a slight smell to it, it does not have any strong added scent - the smell that it has is barely noticeable and I think is just a result of the ingredients - they aren't able to completely remove any smell at all. I could smell it while it was on my fingers, but once rubbed in to my skin, I could smell nothing at all. I also did find that it was mild - it definitely did not irritate my skin or leave it red. Now for the things I didn't like. First of all I did not enjoy the feeling of it on my skin. While in general it went on light and it didn't feel heavy on my face, I found it left my face feeling kind of gritty and dirty to the touch. Almost as if I had been out in the heat sweating, and then the sweat dried on my face. Normally I use a facial sunscreen with moisturizer in it and it feels like NOTHING is on my skin, so I had higher expectations for something that was supposed to be a moisturizer first, with sunscreen added into it. The other major issue I have with it is the cost. I find Aveeno products to be very pricy! If I really like the product I am definitely willing to pay more, but I wouldn't pay more for this. As I mentioned, I usually just use a facial sunscreen (same SPF 30) and when I compared the prices, my usual brand is $0.20/mL, while the Aveeno is $0.26/mL - while this may not seem like a lot, it works out to being about $10 per 50mL bottle of the stuff I like BETTER and $18 for a 68mL bottle of the Aveeno (these prices are from Walmart - I shudder to think how much the Aveeno would be at Shoppers!). I'd rather stick with my brand! -

I have to say that I do not use a ton of hairspray on a daily basis because I just don't like it. It's smelly, makes my hair all crunchy and feels awful. I was interested to try this hairspray that I got free from Chick Advisor to see if it was any different and I have to say I like it a lot! It has a lovely smell - a little bit floral, but not overpowering - and does not smell terrible like other hair sprays I have tried before. It goes on dry (doesn't feel sticky as you are spraying it on) and once it has dried on your hair it leaves your hair feeling almost as if you aren't wearing hairspray at all - no hard and crunchy hair!! It held all day, even with running out to my car in the rain. I will say that if you are looking for a hairspray that has a ton of hold (will hold up a crazy hair style) or adds a lot of volume this may not be for you. However, this is the level 2 and it is great for day hair, touch ups, or taming fly aways. If you are looking for more hold I would recommend trying the level 3 as I was very pleased with this product! -

I got to try this product free from Chick Advisor and was selected to try the cookies and cream flavour. I like ice cream and cookies & cream would be a flavour I would normally reach for (among others!) so I was very excited to try this! It was easy to find in stores, which was nice, and I found the price to be reasonable. You can get a bigger carton of ice cream on sale for the same or less money, however if you are strictly comparing the small carton sizes, this is much less money than many other brands sold in stores.
On to the important information: how did it TASTE?!? I was really pleased with the flavour of this product. It definitely did NOT taste like a diet, or 'light' ice cream. But lets start from the beginning. When I first opened the carton it looked exactly like other cookies & cream ice cream I have had in the past. It did not scoop out very easily - I had to heat up the scoop and even then it was difficult to scoop. This is not a big issue for me though because - a) this is fairly typical for most grocery store bought ice creams, and b) this could be a result of several things (mainly, temperature of the freezer). This also didn't really effect the taste of the ice cream, it's just something I noticed immediately.
When I first put a spoonful in my mouth I have to admit I was struck with an overwhelming taste of artificial vanilla. It was not 'bad' or 'offensive' necessarily, it was just very noticeable. After taking another spoonful I realized that it actually tasted like the cream frosting (filling?) that is in the middle of an Oreo, which made the flavour less alarming (this WAS supposed to be cookies & CREAM after all!). I am happy to say that after another spoonful or so, this overwhelming taste was far less noticeable.
The texture of this ice cream was really nice. It was not overly gritty or sandy, which you can find in even some of the better ice creams. I was preparing myself for that seeing as I was tasting a flavour that HAS cookie crumbs all throughout it, but it was actually quite smooth and creamy.
Overall I have to say that this ice cream rivaled any other store bought ice cream I have had in terms of taste, texture and price. It was delicious and worth the money for sure. The biggest thing for me is that you can eat the ENTIRE CARTON for about the same calories as one bowl of regular ice cream. This alone is a reason why I will be purchasing this product again. I am excited to try the other 2 flavours available (vanilla & chocolate), and I hope they expand and add even more flavours!

I got this brush free to test from Chick Advisor and I have to say I really liked it. I loved the size - it wasn't too long or too short - it fit nicely in my hand and was comfortable to use when putting on the lose powder. I found the bristles to be super soft and they picked up just enough powder. It applied the makeup smoothly and kept its shape. I am definitely interested to see how this brush holds up in terms of bristles falling out and it keeping its shape after many uses. As with the other Nude by Nature products I tested, I gave it an average rating for value because I don't actually know how much it costs. -

I was a little worried about testing this product because I wasn't sure what colour to order and I worried it would be too dark or too light. I lucked out and it was a pretty good match overall. It doesn't give a ton of coverage, however I used it on it's own (no concealer or liquid foundation). It did smooth out the look of my skin and make my skin tone look more even, so that was great. I think honestly the most impressive thing about this product was the really cool mesh thingy that covers the hole in the container where you pick up the powder from, which allows you to get just enough powder on your brush without having to shake or tip the container to get it out. This was definitely a great detail. Overall I liked this product. As with the primer that I tested, I gave it an average rating for value because I have no idea how much it actually costs. -

I use a primer regularly when I wear makeup, however this is not my typical brand. I have to say I was not a fan of the scent going on - for lack of a more technical description it smelled kind of like old lady cold cream - sort of a menthol plant type smell. However, once it was on I couldn't smell it at all so that's good. I did find it made my face more matte - which is one of the goals of a primer, to help get rid of shine. I didn't notice a ton of line smoothing or pore minimizing but maybe I will notice it more after a more prolonged use. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with this primer, it did an ok job - reduced shine, helped my makeup go on smoother and last longer - but I prefer my normal brand over this one. I gave it an average score for value because I haven't seen it in stores so I honestly don't know how much it costs.
Brand Response:
Thank you for your feedback. The silicone-free primer is also composed of active natural ingredients, including the native Australian Kakadu Plum and other rich antioxidants to help fight visible signs of ageing. The natural green tea and citrus scent should dissipate quickly once applied. Please contact us directly if you have any further questions or require assistance at [email protected]

I got this product free to try and was excited to give it a go. I always use a top coat when I do my nails, and even still they are usually chipped or cracked within a day or 2. This stuff worked pretty well- dry time was similar to normal top coats and I didn’t see the chips and cracks for days longer than normal. Not sure about the price, but would probably buy it on sale! Definitely worth a try. -

I was really excited to try this product! I love having my nails done but rarely take the time to do at home manicures because after 2 days, they are chipped, cracked and driving me crazy! This stuff actually lasted pretty well! It definitely doesn’t give you a flawless manicure for the whole 7 days - by mid week there was some wear around the edges, but they definitely didn’t crack and chip like my normal polish does! -

I got this free to try and I was a little skeptical about how a yogurt cream would be, but I loved it!!! First off, it smelled AMAZING! Very important for me. I put this on for the first time one night while watching tv. It was cool and creamy, and went on nicely. At first I thought it was greasy, but then I realized it actually wasn't- it just left my hands super soft. The next morning when I got up I noticed how soft and smooth my hands were and I was confused about why, until I remembered using this cream! They stayed soft and moisturized for at least 24 hours! Would definitely recommend trying this! -
