Although we have a dishwasher, I soak my pots/pans or prerinse very dirty dishes, so an effective dish soap is a must. I have not found any that works better or that is a better value than good ol' Original blue Dawn. It works like magic to lift stuck-on gunk from pots, pans, and casserole dishes. At the very least, a quick wipe or brush clean, is all it takes to lift tough food residue. It only takes a small squirt in hot water to create lots of hard-working, long-lasting bubbles. I buy a large jug and transfer to a pump container, which ensures great value (and no mess from the lid... my kids didn't always snap the lid closed properly) The other plus, is that it also leaves my sink nice and clean and grease-free once I'm finished and wipe it with my soapy sponge. -
No Name Lemon Scent Dishwasher Detergent
This is our usual brand of powdered dishwasher detergent. It has a great, fresh lemony scent, it is always available at Loblaws, Superstore, and No Frills stores, and at a very low price. It cleans as well, if not better, than name brands costing... +
This is our usual brand of powdered dishwasher detergent. It has a great, fresh lemony scent, it is always available at Loblaws, Superstore, and No Frills stores, and at a very low price.
It cleans as well, if not better, than name brands costing twice as much. Our dishwasher is 17 years old, and the detergent ensures dishes, pots/pans, and glasses come out clean, sparkling, and spot free (we use a rinse agent fairly regularly) We have never had a problem with the powder not dissolving or leaving any residue behind either... another big plus!

We are right in the thick of the Coronavirus Pandemic (Covid-19), and one of the very first items to disappear from the shelves EVERYWHERE was toilet paper. I am grateful that the Kirkland brand is available in such large packages, because we don't need to purchase any more than 2 or 3 packs a year. With everyone depleting the supply, and the difficulty of getting to Costco on time for a shipment, we may be forced to get another brand for the time being if we run out. I hope not. The rolls are very generously-sized, soft, durable, and get the job done. We have been loyal to this brand for over 10 years. My only complaint, is that there is a lot of plastic packaging inside the large outer wrapping. -

Ever since the fem-hy industry decreased the absorbancy levels of tampons, I have had to use them more frequently, and/or with unpredictable results. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the Ultra absorbancy at Shoppers Drug Mart, and decided to give them a try. I have PCOS, and this, combined with my age, have resulted in very heavy and/or inconsistent flows. On my very heaviest days, the comfort and absorbancy is appreciated. They are great overnight, and I have far fewer leaks than when using Super Plus absorbancy. I can say that the only negative is that I would prefer not to use a (non-biodegradable) plastic applicator. I like the comfort of the plastic, but wish it could be made from environmentally-friendly or biodegradable material. They are also not widely available, so this would help to boost sales, and allow for better pricing. -
Secret invisible - vanilla scent
Longtime Secret anti-perspirant user. Decided to try the VaVa Vanilla scent one day, after noticing it for the first time. It works wonderfully, keeping me fresh and dry. It doesn't clash with any perfume I might wear, and on its own, it's soft... +

It doesn't clash with any perfume I might wear, and on its own, it's soft and feminine. It doesn't sting, and doesn't leave white marks on my clothing... all big pluses! I hope this scent is here to stay! -
