Hair can not be brushed. We unfortunately found out the hard way. But shes almost 5 so its a learning experience. -

Candylocks Straw Mary is super cute in her strawberry design dress! Her hair is super long and has the feel of cotton candy. Easy to braid hair makes it easy for my 4 year old to braid. Shes in love with this dolls hair. She loves the hair chalk not only to use on her Straw Mary but to use on her own hair. The chalk itself is easy to wash out of real hair, so no worries parents! Only worry I do have is when my 4 year old decides to try to brush the hair and how it will look, but its great to teach her hand eye coordination. She loves when her hair is braided and now she can braid her own dollys hair. What i do love that the shoes and the dresses can be used with any of the dolls in this line.
