I have tried a lot of oils, bu this was my first experience with Avocado butter. I wish I had discovered this before now because I like it so much better than any of the Shea products I've tried. This absorbs better than Shea (and most other oils). It feels really good on my skin (especially my feet and elbows), but I'm most impressed with how well if does on my scalp. I can use it directly on my hair if I go sparingly and do so while my hair is damp from a wash. I think the reason it does a good job as a scalp moisturizer is because of the absorption factor. I don't recommend it as a leave-in moisturizer for ladies with fine or Caucasian type hair, but I think it might be really good as a hot-oil treatment and for the very ends of the hair. For African American type hair (I am 4b/4C), this is nice (in moderation) because it doesn't tend to sit on top of the hair. I use very lightly on my damp hair for twisting. Where this also works super is as a facial cleanser. I apply & massage into my face & neck, then wipe clean with cotton baby wipes. Other ways that I have used it & find it works well: on my feet - pre & post manicure; on my hands, esp. cuticles, by wrapping in a warm towel or latex gloves for about 10-15 minutes, then rubbing off the excess oil; as a lip balm and dry skin treatment overnight. I did use this as a pre-shampoo treatment too. I warmed some of the oil in a baggie and applied to my hair and rested it under a warm damp towel before shampooing with a very mild shampoo. I did also use this with my body wash by smearing some of the butter on a towel before applying soap. I ended up wasting product that way & learned that it's better to just wash with soap/body wash then apply the butter with a wet towel at the end of the shower. Leaves my skin feeling pretty luscious.
I balk just a little at the price but, really, it's worth it because a small amount goes a long way. That's my standard with something that is pricey: how far I can stretch out the product.
I notice that this product is currently unavailable on Amazon. I might order up a stash of it next time so that I don't have to worry about it being out.

If you're like me and enjoy using oils in place of perfume for a fragrance, this is a good one. It's soft and very true to the citrus scent. I like that the fragrance is not "fake" or tart. It's a soft, light scent that stays true even hours after you apply it. I also like that I am moisturizing my throat and neckline at the same time. This can double as a room scent if you add a drop to an unscented candle. I haven't used it in a diffuser yet, but I did put a drop in a bowl of warm water while I was in the shower & that was really nice - though very, very subtle & could have been stronger. I have put a couple drops on my hand to rub over my hair after washing. Got compliments on it from friends who normally never notice my fragrance! For someone who wants to freshen up their shampoo and bath products, I can say that this makes a nice addition to homemade leave-in sprays for the hair and to liquid bath soaps. This is just a really nice, soft scent that seems like it would work with almost any body chemistry. Suggestion: get a roller bottle to put this is. The oil is fairly thin and applies better with a roller top instead of by hand. -

This is the best ever shampoo I have ever even heard of. Ever. It truly is "healing" my dry hair and it happens to be really good on my skin too. Since I have extremely dry 4b/4c (tight, kinky, curly) hair, I have been spending too much money on a a variety of products to care for it. I've had to layer the use of shampoo, conditioner and then a leave-in. With this bar, I am able to use just the shampoo and a wash-out or leave-in - one or the other. I can tell after a few washes that I might actually soon be able to use just the shampoo bar and some scalp moisturizer. This makes my hair very clean, yet very soft at the same time. This "moisturizing" formula might be too rich for other hair types, so it's great that J.R. Liggett's has different formulas. The other thing that I am loving about this is the price. The 2 formulas I got (Moisturizing & Original) were under $7 with Amazon Prime (although you might have to order in bulk or get this as an "add-on" to other orders). I can tell from my use so far that the bar really is going to last me as long as a medium-sized bottle of shampoo but, even so, it's worth twice the price. For one thing, I will be saving a lot of money on conditioners and leave-in aftercare hair products; for another, I am actually seeing great results with my hair. The smell is very pleasant (although I didn't notice any lingering aroma) and the lather is good. The best thing is that this doubles as a body soap for me. Another thing I noticed is that it takes just a little bit of this too work after the second or third use. It's as though my hair had to get used to it. I wish I had heard of this before. From now on, I am going to be stocking up on this because I don't plan to use anything else on my hair in the future. I have already cut up pieces to share with friends who wear "natural" afro hair like I do. I am waiting to see how my friends with different hair types like this. -

Wrinkle Blur mimics the OTC "blur" products. The price is much more affordable & because the product is in powder form (for making cosmetics), it can be used alone, with added pigment/foundation or blended with any other cosmetic. This was such a good product for me because I have trouble finding OTC/name brand items that compliment my skin shade. Usually, I have to buy 2 products & blend them to get a good shade. I use this product now in place of BB and CC creams. Before this, I didn't ever think to buy a product that is used to make cosmetics. Once again, the price is what snagged me, but using it has been so effective that I won't probably ever buy another OTC blur product. Another huge plus is that one jar is going to last me for at least a year & that's only if I use it every day. You can get the item at Amazon or from the Seller's site. -

This is a serum that is to be applied to the lash line and eyebrows to encourage growth. It's easier to apply than I thought & goes on the lash line much the way liquid eyeliner does. Because it is a slight shade of brown, when it dries, a user can tell that it's there, but it's not overly noticeable on the lash line. For the brows, it's best to blot it (or comb it in while it's damp) to eliminate any visible flaking. The results that I got after just 11 days was amazing. The tube is good for up to 4 months supply, so I was really pleased with the fast results. The best thing to like (other than the results) is that any growth remains even when the supply is exhausted. Since there is a 365-day guarantee in place, it's a great product to try out. I got to try this product for free, but I will most likely purchase it as gift for friends. -

I got this free for doing a review on my blog, by the way. This is great for taking care of your feet at home. The device is rechargeable & it can be used while it is charging. My feet were in rough shape because I don't get regular pedicures. This worked really well even the very first time (when my feet were at their worse). It works better every time since I have been taking care of my feet in between treatments about every 3 or 4 days. It's pricey, but I think it's probably comparable to similar items. It's not tricky to use & it came with 2 grinding heads. Another good thing is that it's really compact. I leave mine in the box & it fits in one of my bathroom drawers. The cost works out to around 3 salon pedicures in my town, so I don't think that it's too expensive for something that I will be able to use so much without leaving the house. -

This goes on a lot lighter than another brand. Best thing about it is that it doesn't flake as much and, because it goes on lighter, I can control how thick and long I want my lashes (for a day/night look). It washes off really well, but stays on all day. I wore it without touchups for about 13 hours & was able to remove it with my regular oil/baby wipe method. Takes some practice for getting a longer/thicker look. The box is really pretty & has a magnetic clasp closer. It's compact and fit in one of my smaller purses. Once again, my fave thing is that, even when I wore it heavier (more layers & length), I didn't get the flaking that I did with another brand. This is also supposed to be good for conditioning the lashes, but I haven't been using it for more than a week so I don't know. I can tell that this doesn't dry out my lashes like some regular mascaras seem to do. I actually got to try this for free, but it's one product that I *will* be buying from now on. Pricey, but cheaper than using tons of regular mascara. (Sorry about the photos. Had trouble getting it small enough for this post!) #GotItFree -
