I could do without the mess, but as long as you keep it off carpet and give them something to contain the mess like a cookie sheet, all is good. Play-doh is not only fun for the kids, but it helps calm them. It builds their small motor skills and creativity. My kids can get quite elaborate sculpting the play-doh into various shapes and creatures. Play-doh has helped us through many hospital stays.
