As a seasoned DIY’er I have come to only buy and use Dap products. Time and time again Dap products have proven to be of great quality and the brand I trust. I speak from experience having tried other brands which have cracked, peeled, turned yellow etc. I live in a colder climate where temperatures can range from 34°C to -40°C so expansion contraction is prevalent, the quality of a product is important . I was fortunate to receive a free sample of Dap’s Alex Plus All Purpose Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone. It could not have come at a better time as I had to re-caulk the trim around my home which had previously been caulked with Lepage. I recommend cutting the tip at angle for ease. The product glided on perfectly. I used a soapy finger to smooth out where necessary. There was barely anything to clean but always keep shot towels around just incase :) I also would like to add that the plastic tube helps the shelf life of the product and you can easily reseal the product with a cap and mark the date with some painters tape. Remember not to store in cold areas, I learned that the hard way. If you’re a beginner or even not I would highly recommend Dap Caulking Tool kit ( which helps smoothing it out with ease and comes with caps as well) It’s been over a month and no signs of cracking, discolouration or peeling. I am very happy with this product and for the price, ease of use and quality you cannot go wrong! I highly recommend.
