💓Before I get into the ingredient list, let's talk about the star component of this magical oil.
✨Hydroxypinacolone retinoate, HPR for short. This member of the tretinoin/retinoid family (synthetic derivatives of vitamins A) is a "new" formulation that gives you the benefits of vitamin A while minimizing the chances of irritation.
✨How does it work? It basically binds itself to retinoid receptors in your cell, when activated, it results in a series of events: from cellular proliferation(cell division) to the biosynthesis of proteins relevant to cell turnover.
✨In simple words, it helps renew skin elasticity, hydration and plumpness by reducing the rate of collagen breakdown as well stimulating its production.
✨It also smoothes the texture of the skin, , improves its clarity, and reduces the appearance of dark spots and blemishes by slowing down melanin production.
✨All types of vitamin A derivatives bind themselves to retinoid receptors, what makes HPR less irritating is the fact that, contrary to its siblings (who require to be metabolized (broken down), through several enzymatic steps, to more active forms: ergo irritation)
💓Because of its formulation, HPR binds directly with the receptors. So NO IRRITATION💓
With that said, let's no forget the first two ingredients:
✨Avocado oil, one of the most penetrating oils known to scientists. Not only does it serve as a carrier to other ingredients, it is highly rich on OIL SOLUBLE vitamins A and D.
✨Grape seed oil, rich in antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, and contains malic acid for a light exfoliating action

@tatcha the essence is the most hydrating, resurfacing, soothing product I have ever encountered in my skin's life. First, it feels like you're patting water on your face, when suddenly, your skin feels humongously hydrated, and insanely soft.
I have been using it religiously twice daily for the past 4 weeks, and let me tell you: my skin is beautiful. I have bright, texture free, plumped, hydrated and unbelievably soft baby skin.
My acne scars have lightened up and my skin tone is incredibly even.
I am looking forward to what my skin is going to look like after months and months of using this magical potion

After I spoke about it on my stories, many of you guys reached out to me. So I decided to make a permanent post on the @glowrecipe watermelon moisturizer.
When I tried the mask in the past, I liked its water-ish texture, loved the scent and adored my morning after skin.
I enjoyed many aspects of it, up until I discovered @laneigeca sleeping mask, where I got similar results and paid half as much.
Now the moisturizer: an oil free, non comedogenic, very lightweight moisturizer, packed with vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids.
A cocktail of active ingredients, promising the delivery of a hydrated, bright and soothed skin, aka "baby soft skin" all day long. ✨In my experience✨
Pros:
💓Watermelon extract is an amazing antioxidant. One of its properties is to sort of "boost" the efficiency of sunscreen.
💓Comes in a closed container, minimizing the risks of contamination and preserving the potency of the ingredients.
💓Very lightweight, it feels like a serum/gel hybrid. So ideal for oily skin, or for people who dislike the feel of skin humectant, commonly found in moisturizers.
💓The scent is refreshing and fun.
Cons:
💔Not enough moisture for my (currently) combo skin, my foundation looked horribly patchy on top of it.
💔I didn't see any sort of "luminous glow" other than the dewy wetness it leaves behind when applied.
💔I haven't seen any skin soothing properties whatsoever. 💔It had no effect, good or bad, on my small breakouts, or my post acne scars. *** I wasn't expecting any type of miracle. I was comparing the results to other products with similar claims, who ended up delivering visible results.
Also, with 50$CAD, you can get so many similar, yet better options for your skin AND money.
Conclusion: this is not something I would recommend to anyone. Unless they are looking for a cute looking lightweight moisturizer.

I'll start with some facts:
Tyrosinase is an enzyme that catalyzes the production of melanin through the oxidation of the amino acid tyrosine. It is found inside an organelle synthesized in our melanocytes, called melanosome.🌹 Tyrosinaze activates anytime when in contact with uv light aka the Sun. The resulting baby is an overproduction of melanin, which leads to uneven skin tone, dark spots and hyperpigmentation🌹
@sundayriley tidal water cream contains 1% of a substance called alpha arbutin, a natural derivative of hydroquinone that serves as a tyrosinase inhibitor. To make a long story short, your skin won't overproduce melanin anymore, so your uneven skin tone won't worsen🌹
Which takes us to the papaya enzymes that will exfoliate the dead skin cells, therefore diminishing the look of the existing dark spots 🌹
Of course, It wouldn't be a water cream if it didn't contain our beloved hyaluronic acid for intense hydration.🌹
🌟🌟🌟My experience:🌟🌟🌟
I usually use tidal in the morning for a fresh and healthy looking skin. It is a very effective moisturizer and makeup primer. It's not sticky, doesn't roll under my foundation, and most of all, didn't break me out.🌹
It has a slight dewiness to it, nothing oily or greasy, but leaves some sort of a dewy film on the skin🌹
It is something I would recommend to everyone that wants more benefits from a simple moisturizer🌹🌟🌹🌟🌹

My experience with this product started with a deluxe sample I had gotten from somewhere.
I remember having ran out of day creme, so I started using it.
It was around a time I had my periods. Naturally, it means my face is hosting some small, red and inflamed pimples.
The very first thing I noticed was how fast the product absorbed. I literally used one pump and a half to cover both my face and neck area, on top of a moisturizing serum. At first, it was sticky, but after a few minutes, It left me with some sort of semi-Matte feel. It controled the shine, without leaving me with a super Matte/borderline dryish skin.
At that point in time, I didn't think much of it and went to proceed with my foundation.
After three mornings of use, I found this product to be very soothing. Which at the time was strange for me, since I was used to acne treatments being more abrasive.
The inflammation I had on my small pimples disappeared. I could still see the little annoying white pimple heads, but there was NO MORE redness or inflammation whatsoever.
After a week of morning use, I stopped using a pores filling primer. My foundation was sliding over my usually large pores, without settling around them!!!!
I don't think you need me to tell you that the next thing I did was order the full size.
So, 134$ +tax and10 morning applications later, the pimple colonie I was obliged to host disappeared COMPLETELY. This is usually great news, but with this product, well, there is an even better news: they left without leaving ANY TRACE whatsoever of them having been there. (Other than me being 160$CAD short).
Conclusion: it's not a miracle worker, and it did not help me with major breakouts, nor did it prevent major breakouts. ALTHOUGH, if you have mild acne or little pimples here and there that you want to get rid of: this is honestly for you. You will not regret purchasing it. I myself still use it sometimes in the mornings when my pores give up on me and I want them tightend and unclogged.

Honeymoon glow: I started using it at night, every other day for a week, until my skin built some tolerance. I usually cleanse, tone and massage two pumps of the serum into my skin, with nothing on top of It. It did not burn, sting or cause any severe reactions, other than a slight tingling that faded with time.
Pros:
The morning after skin: the claim is true, I did wake up with a remarkably hydrated and glowing skin. My acne scars started fading after a week of use. It controlled and stopped my ongoing breakouts and the frequency of the occasional morning pimple.
Cons:
I also wake up with a VERY oily skin. An oiliness (previously under control) that painfully migrates to my hair.
Yes, we get it. You get glowing clear skin and whatever else, BUT, in order for you to cover your face and neck, you’ll need two to three pumps of product. A product contained in a 30 ml bottle and costing 64$CAD. I bought mine 18 days ago, using it every night for the past 10 days. Well, I am almost half through it.
We all have or know one or two expensive products, we buy and regularly renew, that are worth every cent. For me, it's #goodgenes @sundayriley
At first, I wanted to compare the honeymoon glow to the @tataharperskincare resurfacing serum. They have similar claims with similar ingredient list.
After trying them both, I can say that the effect #honeymoonglow had on my skin, was indeed close to #tataharper 's, but was even closer, and very very very similar to @renskincare wake wonderful nighttime facial. The glowing skin achieving process is different, but the results were the same, minus grease ball face and hair.
Conclusion: I'm not renewing this treatment anytime soon. Yes It is nice. And Dot, That's about it
