My skin is perpetually dry but prone to blemishes; I am searching for a moisturizer that quenches dryness while promoting clear skin. The Ahava Smoothing Moisturizer comes in another formula for "Very Dry Skin", but I decided to try this formulation first. My initial results were promising--the scent is nice, the texture light, and my cheeks felt like silk. Within a few hours I noticed that the product had ostensibly resisted sinking in or evaporating, remaining happily on top of my skin. It created an slightly oily appearance and seemed to do very little to truly soften my skin. While it did not cause any blemishes, it also didn't ameliorate dryness. I eventually gave up on this product and am now using the rest of it as a hand cream. -

The Shea butter lotion (for extra-dry skin) is non-greasy and just the right thickness that's easy to apply. It absorbs within 20-30seconds on my hand. After absorption I can see my skin has a bit of the oily look but it does not feel greasy at all... +

After absorption I can see my skin has a bit of the oily look but it does not feel greasy at all at anytime. The smell is very strong and controversial though. I personally like the initial smell, which is on the pleasant side but the smell that lingers is artificial and chemical. Smell before you buy! otherwise I'd say this is a pretty good body/hand lotion. -

I love this product so much! I like to use as a mask, because it's really thin and dries super easily and makes my skin feel amazing when I rinse it off. I can feel the beads cleansing my face and I just feel so fresh and clean when I use it. The only thing I will say is that it definitely doesn't keep my face matte for 3 days but I guess I didn't really expect that! I got this as a free sample when I bought the moisturizer, and the bottle is really small but I've been using it for almost 5 months and it's still full. Anyways I want to buy the full version it is a little expensive so that's my only complaint. -
