Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer is either a HIT or a MISS! I've seen countless mixed reviews on it but decided to try it anyway. It seems to be most hated for its tinted hue. A hue that maybe too dark for some and too light for others. But for me, the hue is just right.
It's one of those foundation primers I wouldn't recommend to just anyone. Smashbox Photofinish or even Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer are universal primers. But Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer's brownish (and slightly reddish) tint makes its suitable for a mere segment of the foundation-wearing population. I'm a medium to darker skin tone and this primer works great for me. Wouldn't recommend it to my sister because she has a darker complexion. Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer would most likely make her look slightly "ashy." Ivory skin tones would probably look like they were wearing a second-class bronzing/tanning cream - ew! Then, to top things off, there is only one shade of Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer on the market.
Normal and dry skin applicants need not apply. Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer is best suited for combination to oily-skinned gals like myself. It definitely does an awesome job of mattifying the skin and controlling shine for extended foundation wear. But Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer can possibly make foundation application agonizing for those normal to dry skin gals by causing blotchiness and dry patches on their skin.
If you're looking for a satiny finish for your foundation or powder, then Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer is NOT for you either. It simply mattifies the skin which will prolong foundation wear. It will not help your foundation glide effortless onto your skin. It does not do much for pore minimization in my opinion either. It does, however, smooth out uneven skin because of its tinted shade. So it can easily be used alone in lieu of foundation. Light makeup day? Just apply it and go.
I've used Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer under powder and liquid foundations with great success. I never pair it with another oil-controlling or mattifying product like Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet. I typically use it with creamier foundations and/or mineral foundation products.

Unbelievably good! This is a definite must have for the spring and summer. This drugstore foundation is easily comparable to Lancome's Teint Idole Fresh Wear ($32) or even MUFE Mat Velvet ($34). It has been my go-to foundation for the last 3 weeks. It feels like I'm wearing nothing on my face. It gives a smooth, natural, and lightweight finish. Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation provides a light to medium coverage and leaves skin silky and satin-looking. It doesn't completely matte your skin out. Nor does it leave it dewy. It leaves a naturally beautiful finish - check out pics below.
It contains jojoba extract and cucumber water! So it feels so nice when it's applied. It can be best described as the middle child between tinted moisturizer and foundation. I initially started using this foundation as a means of SPF protection when I went to my son's football games on the weekend. I couldn't go out there bare face and needed some SPF. It's obnoxiously hot out there and I couldn't bare anything heavy or sticky (or obvious). This was my saving grace. I started using it everyday since then and I am l-o-v-i-n-g it.
Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation is super EZ to apply. No brush required in my opinion. The foundation is creamy but blends in like butter. Just dab a pea-sized amount on your hand and then dot it on both cheeks, forehead and chin. Blend it out and your done. Setting it with powder is purely optional because of its beautifully natural finish. As an oily-cannoli, I set it with my Revlon PhotoReady powder. Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation has been really good with oil-control. I don't find myself getting as oily when I use it. I truly hope Covergirl expands this line and adds more products besides the Naturelux foundation and lip balm. A finishing powder and/or concealer would be great, too. Just a hint :0) There's a wide variety of shades available - 12 in total. GRW is using Nutmeg #360. Stay tuned as I will post more pics wearing this foundation.

These swatches are from ELF's Eye Beauty Books Brights. It's sorta unfair reviewing this after doing my review on NYX Runway Collection last week. I have to start off by saying...I do adore the concept of the beauty book. Really cute. Really original. I've never purchased ELF eye shadows before but I was game after seeing the unique packaging of the shadows. My very first experience with ELF eyeshadows and the quality just wasn't at all what I expected. I won't say they were horrific. They just weren't velvety or silky feeling which is kinda what I'd been used to lately. They did have some great color payoff. It also comes equipped with both satin and matte shadows.
I was very excited about a few of the colors in the palette. They are 2, 3, 4, 7, and 10. I highly highly highly recommend that you use a primer or some sort of base with these shadows because they do stain. That's something else I really hated. But at $5 a dozen, who am I to complain right? I just don't see myself re-purchasing another beauty book anytime soon.

Oh La La La! This mineral foundation feels awesome when its applied. It's very cooling and refreshing. Revlon Aqua Mineral Foundation will be ideal for anyone with normal to dry skin. It's a mineral powder foundation but it does not cause dry patches on your skin. Gotta be the coconut water! It provides a natural finish. Typically what deters people from powder foundations are they can sometime look chalky, dry, and "made up." Revlon's Aqua Mineral Makeup does not.
To my oily chics, this foundation can work for us too! I have extremely oily skin and I was able to wear this foundation for 8 hours without becoming an oil slick. I was impressed. I was expecting a pool of oil due to the hydration the foundation provides. Nope. It actually maintained my face for a full work day with just a little shine in my T-Zone.
Blemished Skin? This foundation does not provide much coverage. It's provides a light coverage and the coverage is not buildable. Revlon Aqua Mineral Foundation is probably most ideal for people needing little to no makeup. Or, those lucky girls who can get away with just tinted moisturizer - I'm so jealous!
Only 7 shades?!?! I'm disappointed with the Revlon Aqua Mineral shades. I have it in Medium/Deep which is the second to the deepest color in the collection. Hello, Revlon! You just eliminated most of us ethnic sisters out! Hard for me to grasp considering Halle Berry is the spokesperson for the foundation. Speaking of which. The Revlon ad in CVS said Halle was wearing the shade Medium/Deep so I purchased the same shade. My skin tone is lighter than Halle's and the foundation was too light for me. I was upset with that. I was probably better off getting the shade Deep. See my picture wearing the foundation below. I had to do some "bronzing" to deepen the foundation.
Revlon Aqua Mineral foundation is very finely milled. I really liked that. My other mineral foundations aren't so much. The fineness makes the foundation feel even lighter in my opinion. It also provides a more sheer application. The accompaning makeup brush is cool, too! I usually despise those brushes and sponges that come with foundations. But Revlon's Aqua Mineral Foundation has a great quality brush. It's has great bristles and is super compact. It has a slide-and-hide mechanism which makes it both hygienic and convenient.
This foundation is ok but I will most likely not repurchase it. I tend to need a bit more coverage and I'm not sure there is a shade that will fit my skin tone. I do like the way the foundation feels on my face and how it applies. I'd definitely recommend it for my normal to dry skin, barely-blemished Beauties.

It begins with a 2-part tube. One side has the lip color formula. The other side contains a 3-D effect gloss. Here's a little weird fact (bare with me - this may be a bit corny), the glossy formula in this duo is made in the US where as the colored formula is made in London. Cool, right? Uh...maybe not so much. But I thought it was interesting. I digress. Any who, after you apply Step 1 - the colored side - you will let it dry for about 30 to 45 seconds. You may feel a bit of tightening as the product dries and "locks" into your lips. Then apply the very shimmery gloss and that's it. You are done. No re-application required. You will, however, need to re-apply the gloss throughout the day - that part of the duo is not a "lasting finish." What I love about this product is that it doesn't affect the condition of my lips. Unlike other stay put lip products I've tried in the past like CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain.
The chances of me repurchasing Rimmel's Lasting Finish Kiss & Stay Lipgloss are 100%. In fact, I've returned back to the store and re-purchased 2 additional tubes. Lasting Finish Kiss & Stay Lipgloss is ideal for anyone who wants a long-lasting lip product that does not dry out their lips.

I have thick, naturally curly hair which is not relaxed or chemically treated. I was looking for a deep conditioning product for my hair similar to the Moroccanoil Hair mask. I decided to try Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask.
How did I use it? As a deep conditioning hair treatment; applied, left in for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinsed thoroughly.
The mask comes packaged in an easy-to-use tub and consists of a medium consistency, cream-based formula. It has a very pleasant citrus-like scent which makes it refreshing to use. It also leaves your hair smelling lovely. I didn't experience and instant silkening and moisturized feel to my hair when I applied Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask. That's what I expected after using Moroccanoil's hair mask. Nonetheless, I let the treatment sit on my hair for about 15 minutes. When I rinsed it out of my hair it still did not feel a silkening and moisturized sensation. My hair was not easy to detangle, either. It didn't style any differently either. At this point, I'm still hooked to Moroccanoil Hair mask.
Pros:
smells great
great packaging
doesn't weigh down hair
Cons:
very expensive
not detangling
is not ultra-moisturizing and/or silkening

This concealer is no joke!!! It is heavy duty and it delivers results. I have it here in the shade Tan. I typically write lots of detailed information about any product I review. But in this case, it's really not needed. Take a look at this post's picture. That is worth a thousand words plus more. This concealer can hide a tattoo! You know, without a doubt, it can glamoflauge any skin imperfections you may have. Judging it's heavy duty coverage, one could think the product would have an extremely thick consistency. Not at all. The concealer has a medium consistency and blends pretty easily. At $6 a tube, this is a steal. Numerous products are out there for tattoo concealment. They tend to cost 4 to 6 times more than this product. Hard Candy Glamoflauge is a grade-A, heavy duty concealer. However, I would not recommend it for someone with minor blemishes and discolorations. This is for extreme coverage! It's totally buildable. Keep blending and applying until you achieve your desired look.
For these pictures, I applied 1/2 of a pea-sized amount to my index finger and blended it out. A little definitely goes a long way. A single tube can probably last 9 months to a year.

It's the beginning of the year and we want to start off on a good face! Now, I am a huge proponent of the OCM for my specific skin care needs. I have very oily and acne prone skin - I call it "Eeewww skin." I switched to OCM after countless failures from over-the-counter cleansers and doctor prescribed cleansers alike. So obviously I wasn't super excited about trying Loreal Go 360 Clean.
Wow! I loved it! It completely melted the makeup off. My skin was left ridiculously soft and my pores did appear smaller. Be warned. The smaller pores are temporary. It's just a really good indication that your cleanser is truly DEEP CLEANSING. Now, I do not use the Scrublet. As cute as it is...I opted to use my fingertips instead. Just my own personal phobia where I refuse to use the same tool on my face multiple times for cleansing purposes. Nonethesless, my results were still top-notch. My face wasn't extremely dried out nor overly oily. I've tried the Deep Clean and Deep Clean Sensitive. Of the two, see them pictured above, I like the Deep Clean (green bottle) the best. It seems to clean my skin better. The makeup just doesn't melt off the same with the sensitive formula (white bottle). I have purchased about 3 bottles of this so far so there's no need to wonder if I'll re-purchase. I already have. It so nice to find little hidden treasures like this in my local pharmacies! I wonder what I'll find next hmmmm.............

Have you been lusting over a NARS blush or bronzer but couldn't bring yourself to shell out the cash for it? Well, Beauties!!!! Do I have great news for you! A too-close-for-comfort dupe to the infamous NARS Orgasm/Laguna duo has been born - thanks to E.L.F.
You be the judge! Simply looking at the 2 compacts side-by-side gives the illusion that the shades are quite different. But wait! Check out the swatches in this post. Nars' orgasm has a tad bit more gold in it. But other than that...it's a darn good dupe! I shelled out $40 in pretty ones for the Nars duo which, trust me, I really do enjoy. But I'd rather spend $3 and get the same great color combination. Unless you are truly a "name brand junky" and adore the chicness of that NARS compact (I'm so guilty of this), then go for it. It's a hot combination that fits just about everybody. If you're only concerned with achieving that healthy and youthful glow to your cheeks and could careless about the brand - go grab this e.l.f. compact pronto.
PROS:
lasts, lasts, lasts
$3!
great dupe for NARS
great pigments
blends nicely
CONS:
none

Where is the volume? Maybelline's One-by-One mascara lets me down in the volume apartment. I was expecting fat, bodacious lashes. Instead, I ended up with extremely long, sparse lashes. The great length was a bonus!
Maybelline's One-by-One mascara delivers on its no clumping policy. As you can see in the picture, my lashes are very defined and separated. The wand is shaped like a football with several spiky bristles. Surprisingly, the bristles are softer than other volumizing mascaras on the market. It doesn't have a ridiculous amount of product piled up on the bristles, either. Once pumped, the wand comes out perfectly saturated with the exact amount of product. God bless, less mess! The results in this picture are from a single coat of the mascara.
Now let's compare it to Loreal's Million lash mascara...shall we? In regards to volume, L'Oreal Million lashes reigns as champion. Maybelline's One-by-One mascara wand is smaller than L'Oreal's as well as thinner - peep out the side-by-side wand comparisons below. They also seem to have the same amount of spiky bristles. Check out how Maybelline's One-by-One wand has less product gooked on than Loreal Million lashes. So who would I choose? L'Oreal Million Lashes. No competition in my humble opinion.
Pros:
no clumping
very lengthening
spiky, but soft bristles
Cons:
not much volume
