I didn't like the taste of the powerbar from Protein Plus in reduced sugar lemon poppy seed. It was super sweet, and I couldn't even finish half of it. These bars are fairly thick and a bit time consuming to chew, but they're not too dry. Protein bars aren't for people who just want a quick snack. So those saying it's too heavy are probably not working out prior. These are supposed to be post-workout snacks. But honestly, it gets too expensive to buy these protein bars. You're better off with whey protein.
But for those that want on the go protein bars with a low amount of sugar, and sadly a low amount of fiber too, then I'd recommend buying these bars from Protein Plus.

The texture of the Powerbar Proteinplus reduced sugar creamy chocolate peanut butter (wow, what a mouthful!) is good and similar to that of a chocolate bar. But I'm not a fan of the taste. It does taste very strongly of peanut butter and chocolate, so if you're a fan of that taste, you'll like this bar. It doesn't have much sugar in it, which is good. But it also doesn't have much fiber.
If you're a fan of protein bars post workout, this is for you. It's good for on the go. But in the long run, it's pretty expensive to buy these bars. And you'd get more protein drinking a whey protein shake.

Pure Protein chocolate peanut butter bar is moist and has a chocolate bar type texture. I didn't care for the flavour at all, but if you normally like peanut butter/chocolate combo you will like this bar. Even not liking the flavour I can tell that I would really love this bar if it was say just chocolate chip.
The sugar content is low, fiber could be higher, but the protein amount is decent for a bar. It makes a good quick post workout snack.

I normally buy Kirkland olive oil, which I know to be a pure product. Most companies don't use real olive oil. I'm not sure what Becel's value is, but I trust Kirkland more. Taste wise, it thankfully doesn't overpower anything I cook with it. I'm not sure what the price is in stores, but if you don't care that much about having a pure olive oil, then this blend may be for you.

There's honestly nothing special about this olive oil margarine. It's just like the original version, but a smaller amount. And the same price, which makes no sense. I was hoping it would taste different at least, but I haven't noticed anything. They claim it's healthy for you, just because of the olive oil, but if you're cooking with olive oil you don't really need any extra in your diet.

I was buying the Tide Laundry Pods because they were convenient. But they're more expensive than the competitor's and they don't clean any better. When it comes to food stains, it does nothing for them. And white clothes do not get whiter. The smell is tolerable, but no where near the same lovely scent I like from one of their competitor's. -

I don't find the Nivea Men Creme to be better or worse than any other moisturizer I've tried. I am grateful though to have #gotitfree in exchange for my review.
Pros:
- It does its job at moisturizing.
- It blends in quickly
Cons:
- The container. I hate it. A pump bottle is a lot more effective and sanitary.
- The smell. It's too strong and sticks around too long.
- The container is too small for consistent use. They say apply everywhere, but honestly this is the best size for a face cream. It wouldn't get far if I applied the Nivea Men Creme like my wife applies her moisturizers.
I wouldn't recommend this moisturizer over any other. Especially in its current container. And the smell... ugh. I don't understand what Nivea is doing with the scent. My wife's Nivea cream is just as bad. Smells like old people and baby powder.

My family would say I spent an absurd length of time reading the backs of bottles in the lotion aisle. But how else am I to avoid pthalates, fragrance, and a host of other bad ingredients? My usual go to was Jergens, but I wanted something with less ingredients and a better list overall. Enter Keri Original Fragrance Free Intense Hydration. While this brand still contains PEGs and parabens, which I'm not 100% sure of, at least it didn't contain fragrance or pthalates.
I love that it came in a giant bottle for only $9. I love that it really is fragrance free (even double checked it on the ingredient list). But most of all, I love how I actually noticed a difference when I switched from Jergens to Keri. My skin feels softer, noticeably softer. And I didn't have alligator skin before, but there's a definite improvement. The scent is very very faint, and thankfully doesn't smell like anything. It's truly fragrance free.
I always apply my lotions right after my shower; it's the best time to do so. Your skin absorbs it better and it locks in the moisture before the water just evaporates from your skin. You've got about a 15 minute window to get the most benefit from applying it after a shower. I did apply this a few times without having taking a shower first, or waited too long after a shower, and I noticed that it was a bit harder to rub in. So there is that one draw back if you apply this without your skin being damp.
Keri Original Fragrance Free Intense Hydration doesn't quite beat my favourite Curel fragrance free lotion (I love the ceramides), but it sure beats the price tag. My favourite bottle of Curel is $7.96 for just a 480ml bottle. Versus $8.97 for 900ml. That's almost 1 litre! So I think I'll be sticking with Keri from now on and hopefully years from now my skin will look years younger than my age.

Thank you Chick Advisor for sending me Batiste Dry Shampoo Plus beautiful Brunette in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to burst my dry shampoo cherry so that I never have to spend money on this type of product in the future.
I have to laugh at those that love the smell of this Dry Shampoo. I suppose they like sniffing chemicals. Because that's the strong smell that stayed in my hair ALL DAY! All day! Seriously. I could not wait to wash it out.
I hated the texture it gave my hair. It also made my hair look super dull, lifeless and gave it a faint gray cast. I'm 28, I don't have that many grays yet! I had to give an extensive wash to my hairbrush as well since it made the bristles all gross and powdery.
It is so much easier and faster to just dunk my head in the sink and blow dry my hair afterward. Trying to get this dry shampoo out I felt like I was in the shower for an hour just washing my hair. It took one rinse of my favourite dandruff shampoo and TWO rinses of a clarifying shampoo. And then I used some good conditioner afterward because I'm sure my hair was super dry after all that abuse.
So thanks again Chick Advisor for giving me this opportunity to realize I will never be on the market for a dry shampoo.

I got the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Wash for free because I had a coupon for $5 off, so when they went on sale for $3.99 I grabbed one. Wish I had stocked up, but at my store they're sticky about the whole one coupon per customer thing.
I like the smell of this body wash. It's not overpowering and it's very subtle, which I appreciate. I get headaches if my products are too scented. I like the look of the bottle and how nicely it suds up on my loofah. What I really hate though is the dispense method. The product is so thick that you really have to squeeze hard and for a while to get a quarter size amount out of the bottle. Anyone with weak hands or arthritis will probably not be able to use this body wash.
That being said, I would definitely 'buy' these again when they go on sale and I have my coupons ready. If I didn't get them for free, I would not pay for Aveeno's body wash again. At least the one that comes in this type of bottle. There are just as nice body washes out there that dispense a lot easier and are either cheaper or the same price.
