This little "blink and you'll miss it" salon in Sandy Hill had me at hello - my stylist is Kit really listens to what I want. She doesn't push me to do anything wild with my cut and colour unless I suggest it, and when I say I want '15 min morning prep time hair' she understands. As well, the owner has been in the salon every time I have visited, he even jumped in when Kit and I were debating about the perfect touseled curl for my new year's eve 'do - no detail is too small, and it really adds to the cozy feeling of the place.
I highly recommend this studio, I'm so relieved not to be running back to my old TO salon every time my hair was butchered at an Ottawa salon - no tears at Lucas Nault!

This is a tiny salon located inside a pedestrian mall in the Byward Market - the name itself implies somewhere luxurious, but definitely not! I arrived after work at 4pm on a weekday for a cut and colour. After my cut was done, I was informed that I should have told them in advance that I have "alot of hair", and that they close at 6 so there wouldn't be time for my colour. I have shoulder-length straight hair, nothing exotic. If the owner's chooses not to trust her own stylists to lock up (meaning she has to stay while clients are there), maybe she should make sure the person booking appointments over the phone is asking the right questions ie., 'what length/type of hair do you have'? So, I was required to re-book and come back another day! I was very put out, my blowout that day was rushed bc the owner was tapping her foot at the door to get me out, and the resulting colour was mediocre; overall customer service is clearly no priority here. -
