I am a longtime fan of Nivea products. I have also been using the Q10 line for at least 5 years. I picked up the Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Night Care cream a few months ago for the first time. I have not turned back. It goes on smoothly, the scent is milld and my skin feels quite luxurious in the morning. As I age, I find I need the extra hydration on my face and this cream seems to be working well. -

It may be a bit sweeter than I had expected (due to the chocolate, of course) but the salty/fruity/sweetness was an excellent combo. The first thing that hit me was the smell of cherry, which was lovely. There was a good crunch to the bar due to the nuts and then a satisfying chewiness. It definitely sated me and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this kind again. -

My son has seasonal (and then some..) allergies, combined with asthma. As such, we are on constant alert as to how he is feeling and reacting to the elements. We've used a variety of medications in the past, with varying efficacy. We started using Aerius Kids at the beginning of the summer and this is the only allergy medicine that we will use for him now. I give him a dose in the morning (no fighting...bonus) and he is generally fine for the whole day. No side effects either. Win-win! -

This is a simple, yet effective little product. I can throw it in my purse and leave it there for whenever I need it Though it's labelled as "Baby", I have used it for myself, and well as my two children neither of whom are babies any longer. It's a small purse sized sunscreen stick that that is no fuss, no muss. Suddenly find the kids (or you) in the sun for a while? Just grab this and roll it on. Easy! -

I received the Offly Fast Removal Kit courtesy of ChickAdvisor after having had a CND Shellac Manicure. I decided to use it on day 15 of my manicure, which had held up surprisingly well after 2 weeks. I followed the instructions exactly as they were written, only to end up with nail polish that was mostly still on after I removed the foil. i feel that is I had left it on for perhaps longer than the advised 8 minutes, that I would have had more success. As it was, I had to spend a lot of time digging at the polish with the included stick to get it off. I worried about the damage I was doing to my nails. I had to use additional remover afterwards and a buffer to try to smooth my nails out. Next time, I would definitely opt for the $10 removal option at the salon instead. -

I went to a salon to have the CND Shellac polish applied, courtesy of ChickAdvisor. I have to admit that I was skeptical as to its claims. I was glad to have been proven wrong. The manicure took the same amount of time as a regular manicure - actually, it was faster in that it dried very quickly. I was able to walk out of the spa not having to worry about it not being, which definitely was a bonus. The colour I picked was a neutral-taupe tone which was perfect for my day-to-day. It went on cleanly and had a lovely shine to it. Reminded me of the paint finish on a car, as a matter of fact. I wore the polish for 15 days before deciding to remove it, as my nails had grown enough that you could see the lack of polish at the base. Aside from a small bit of chipping at the edge of a couple of nails, my fingers looked as perfect as they did on day 1. I work, have 2 small children and take care of the usual everyday house tasks. Despite all this, my nails stayed remarkably well polished. That being the case, the cost of a Shellac manicure ($45), does not seem steep at all. "Normal" manicures last me..maybe 3 days...before I see signs of wear and tear, so the CND Shellac definitely held up to its claims. -

I visited the Upper Village Spa initially to try out the CDN Shellac Polish manicure, courtesy of ChickAdvisor. I was greeted warmly by Pina and made to feel at home immediately. The spa is not a large space, but there is no need for it to be. The ambience was calm, inviting and very professional. It was a very clean space as well, with everything sanitized. My appointment was with Taylor, who proved to be an excellent aesthetician. She clearly explained both the products and the process, and was extremely friendly as well as professional. My manicure looked perfect and my hands felt amazing. There are a number of lovely products for sale at the spa, which the staff were happy to show me and I did not feel pressured to buy anything (though I ended up doing so!)
I returned for a facial with Taylor a couple of weeks later since I had such a favourable impression of Upper Village Spa. Yet again, my expectations were exceeded. I was brought into a quiet, dark and comfortable room and was made to feel very relaxed. Again, Taylor explained the products she would be using and took the time to examine my skin and give advice as to how best to care for it. This was then followed by 45 minutes of a blissful facial and arm/hand/shoulder massage. It was hard not to fall asleep! My skin felt wonderful and looked luminous at the end of the hour. I have already booked my return appointment. Needless to say, I definitely recommend the Upper Village Spa!

I've been sampling different kinds of serums, and thought I would give Lise Watier's version a try. It comes in a unique container with one side for day and one for night. The first thing I noticed was the scent - it wasn't unpleasant but was a bit stronger than I would like. (sidebar: what's with strongly scented facial products???) The serum went on easily enough (both sides) but seemed to leave a bit of a tacky feel to my face. For the night version that isn't an issue, but I wouldn't want to have my face feeling like that in the morning when I then want to apply other product and makeup. After using this for a couple of weeks, both morning and night, my skin felt soft...but I didn't see any noticeable difference. I don't think that it's worth the $80 price. -

As a very fair skinned individual, I am always on the lookout for great sun protection. I found this product at Sephora and thought I'd try it. I'm pleased I did as I love it. It went on very smoothly, as primers do. My skin was left with a lovely finish, that was perfect and ready for the application of makeup. The fact that there was spf 30 in the primer made it perfect. There was no off-putting scent as there sometimes is with a sunscreen so that was a bonus as well. -
