I've tried so many pencil liners in the past it's hard to count how many times I've been utterly confused when my lids look untouched 5 minutes after the liner is applied. Some are too soft, some are too greasy, some are too hard - one I tried, an Annabelle liner, had the consistency of a hard-graphite pencil. OW! - and so I was almost ready to give up the search for a brown liner to compliment my hazel eyes.
Then I found Rimmel Soft Kohl in Brown. This liner does EVERYTHING (as long as it stays sharpened). The texture is silky, but not so soft that it can't form a fine line. If I set with a layer of sheer powder, it stays put all day, even though my lids tend to get slick with grease in all but the dryest of weather.
For the price, this stuff is indispensable.

A little over a year ago, I had dyed my hair brown-black, and had a short shag to go with it. Since then I've dealt with a plethora of lightening treatments, deep conditioning, and painstakingly growing out both my length and my natural colour, an ashy dark blonde. Up until yesterday, It was the natural colour for about 6 inches, and then 3 or 4 inches of a bleached out, over processed lighter yellow-blonde that remained from when my hair was still being exposed to peroxide.
I decided that I'd had about enough with the fryed-looking ends, and so I decided that Loreal's so called "Natural Match" would be a pretty safe bet to restore my natural colour to the parts of my hair that were lighter.
Oh my god. I knew I should have gone for "Ashy Medium Blonde", which on the box looked a good 2 tones lighter than my hair in the correct colour family - I should have caught the warning signals when I decided the colour "Dark Blonde" matched my hair better than "Dark Ash Blonde".
This colour did indeed correct the tips of my longest layers - it also turned my previously virgin, ash coloured hair a frustrating, slightly darker, and god forbid - BRASSY - complexion. Absolutely awful - and it looks nothing at all like the refrence colour on the box. I cannot believe I put this on my carefully restored hair... what a dissapointment.
My only reccomendation is, if you're a blonde and you don't want brass in your hair, ALWAYS go for an ash tone, and just to be safe, be sure the colour you buy is -definitely- lighter than what you're putting it on top of.
I've heard this stuff washes out, so it'll be shampoo, lemon and detergent on the menu in the next few days.
