It took awhile to find a place that sold the vachon maple log sponge cakes. My family were excited to try them out as we regularly purchase vachon products. They were soft and sponges but my husband and I found them overly sweet and quite artificial tasting. We don’t usually purchase the log style cakes so this could just be the usual flavour of them but one was enough for the both of us. However our teen son gladly finished off the box. He seemed to really like them and asked us to purchase them again( which I haven’t). These really were not my cup of tea but I will continue purchasing the other vachon products we all love. If you really have a sweet tooth they are worth giving a try. -

I recently purchased a new DW Home candle from Winners. It’s the perfect soft smoky scent for the winter. It comes in a beautiful charcoal grey jar with wooden lid. It’s wooden wick crackles and pops like a miniature fireplace that I find so relaxing. The candle is hand poured and burns evenly all the way down. I find that not only is the fragrance amazing while burning it has a beautiful soft scent when unlit. I highly recommend picking one up if you see one. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the DW Home brand. -

I received this hairbrush as a Christmas gift and have been loving it ever since.
I have very long wavy hair that easily gets tangled. At first glance I was skeptical the brush could get through my wet tangled hair but one pull and it glided right through. I was able to brush my hair without having any breakage and in half the time. I highly recommend this brush for anyone whose has unruly tangles after washing their hair. I will definitely purchasing another.

I am not an instant coffee drinker. I mean it usually tastes like murky bitter water to me. My husband loves the stuff, I think he likes the convenience of it. He came home with Nescafé Instant espresso( now Gold) and because our coffee machine was broken I begrudgingly gave it a try. I was expecting the worst but was blown away by how much it tasted like a well brewed coffee. I too am caught up in the convenience and we purchase it regularly. It can be expensive (7.99 per jar) but can often be found on sale ( around 4.99). I highly recommend it to those anti-instant coffee drinkers. It just may change your mind. -

I purchased this scrub because I thought maybe a physical exfoliate may help rid my skin of the dryness left over from winter. I used it first on my face and it left a waxy film that I had a difficult time removing. I thought maybe i had used it incorrectly and was meant more for your body. I tried it in the shower and again the yucky film. I also developed break outs on my chest, tummy and top of my legs. I really gave it a go. But it just isn’t for me. I did finally find a use. I use it as a foot scrub. I rinse it off then put on some fluffy socks and voila soft feet in the morning. It’s not an expensive product so If you want a decent foot scrub then go for it. -

I received this product free for review and when I first applied the product I loved it. It covered my greys quickly and evenly and even made my hair look thicker. It wasn’t until I was in the sunlight when I noticed how dull the roots were as compared to the rest of my very long hair. I am also a hair toucher and the amount of transfer was substantial. The second time I tried the root retoucher I used a lighter hand when spraying. Although the transfer was less it also didn’t have as good of coverage. I used the dark brown colour so it may have been worse due to the darker shade. I also think most people don’t touch their hair as often as I do so they would enjoy the product more. I will continue to use the product when I have my hair up but probably won’t purchase again. -

I suffer from eczema on my hands that is worse in the winter. My son has eczema year round on various parts of his body. This cream is thick and creamy and feels so soothing when it’s applied. The only thing missing is a little spatula in the lid or something to apply it with as I am not a fan of products in big tubs like this. I felt the barrier working and the itching lessened immediately. After two weeks my skin was noticeabley softer and my son and my eczema was significantly reduced. Even though the price seemed a bit high (around 23 bucks at my local drugstore) I feel like it is worth every penny and I will be repurchasing it. I received the Aveeno Eczema itch Relief balm free to review from ChickAdvisor and Aveeno. -

I was sent premier protein chocolate shakes for review from chickadvisor. I had tried another flavour prior to the chocolate and was prepared for it to taste ok but I loved the chocolate. I use shakes like these as meal replacements when I'm unable to chew due to my facial pain. They have 30grams of protein, 160 calories and only 1 gram of sugar which makes it a much healthier alternative than most shakes I've tried.I will definitely purchase these shakes(chocolate flavour) to have on hand when they are needed. If you are looking for a way to amp up your protein intake I highly recommend purchasing them. #gotitfree -

I use protein shakes mainly as a meal replacement when due to my illness I am unable to chew food due to facial pain. It tasted good but a little sweet for me. I added strawberries and a frozen banana to the second shake and I liked it much better. I would continue to purchase these shakes for a quick meal on the go. #gotitfree -

I am not sure if it was just the flavour combination or the texture,but no one in the family finished their bar. My husband said it left a tinny aftertaste, my son said it was gross and wouldn't take another bite and my Mom said it tasted ok but that she didn't like orange flavoured things. Personally I agree with my mom and was not a fan of the orange cranberry flavour combination. I was supposed to review the blueberry oatmeal bars but there were none available at the store. It was hard enough locating these ones. The stores listed in my area apparently did not stock them and when I found them in a Metro further away there was not much choice. I think had we tried the blueberry oatmeal ones my family's opinion would have been much different. I do think the bars are a good idea and are convenient for on the go. If I find the blueberry ones in the future I will give those a try. I don't recommend this favour especially for children. It has a very strong flavour so unless you really like cranberry- orange I would try another flavour. I also found the bars to be quite expensive for the amount you receive. -
