I love Cake Beauty products and was excited to try the body butter because skin gets extra dry in winter.
I was surprised and disappointed when I discovered that the product does not smell like citrus to me at all. It smells like coconut and plastic. I have to wonder if I got a bad batch but not really keen on spending more money. The scent I described gave me a headache and made my eyes water.
The texture of the body butter is great. If only it smelled like citrus I checked with a handful of others and they all said it was coconut they were smelling.i know coconut is used as part of the base but in this case it's as if the citrus didn't get in product.
I really wanted to like this, I even tried to get used to scent. But since there is no citrus scent to me and not finding the smell pleasant, I just couldn't give it the good review that others have. If the product has citrus in its title the citrus ought to be evident.
As I said, texture amazing. I'd buy it if scent was different.

For a period of time I was trying different dry shampoos and tried 4-5 different ones. I haven't tried another since the Cake shampoo works and continuing to buy different dry shampoos and not using them can get expensive.
I have fine, thin, colour-treated hair and use volumizing shampoo, conditioner, and sometimes other volume hair products. I use Cake dry shampoo between washes of my hair seems to be getting a little oily and limp.
The Good
There is no residue or powder that shows on the hair once you comb or brush it through.
It really does work to get rid of oil and add volume to hair as well. It can make it look like it was freshly washed or more recently washed.
It only takes a few minutes to use. I do use it only on top of head, concentrating on roots.
It smells nice and is safe for colour-treated hair.
Most importantly, they do not test on animals and they do not buy ingredients from suppliers who test on animals. They do not sell in locations where it would be required of them to test the product on animals before introducing the product to that particular market.
The Bad
It does smell nice but my family finds the scent unpleasantly strong. I have to warn them I'm going to use it so they can go somewhere else and open a window. I find it a little strong but since it works so well I still use it. It does not smell as strong when it is in your hair. If you have a workplace with a "no scents makes good sense" policy this is probably not a product yiu wany to use when you have to be at work or anyplace scent could cause a problem like a hospital or medical office. I have never received any scent complaints about the product outside of family. It is important to note that my family members do not have asthma or any lung disease and they still find the scent overpowering when product sprayed. Afterwards though they are okay with product once it dries and spraying stops. I've spent a good amount of time on this topic because I know some people can become very ill after exposure to a strong scent.
The price is a bit expensive for the amount you get. I keep buying it because I know it works. I suspect that part of the reason for the price is to convey or insinuate the product is superior. Most products in the Cake family have this in common. If they are confident it is indeed better than others they can price it that way without pricing themselves out of the market. I don't know the reasons behind the pricing, I'm just expressing my opinion on it. Possibly cheaper products work just as well or better but I haven't tried those.
If the spray escapes the targeted area of the roots and gets into the length it can leave your hair quite dry and frizzy looking. To counter this I put in a little leave-in conditioner in the length.
Despite "the bad" they aren't deal breakers for me because the product works well for me. There is no ugly involved really. The can is an upbeat pink colour. It is really important to me that they do not test on animals and are cruelty free. Overall, I can comfortably recommend this product, especially those with thin or fine hair. The result of use (with leave-in conditioner in length as needed) is freshened hair with a little volume. I wash my hair every 2nd day and occasionally have used this product on that third day when in a pinch. My review is based on using it between washes but never getting to day 4 of not washing hair.

A combination of medication and/or hormones left my hair even thinner than usual and it was dry and brittle.
I saw that a Strivectin trio pack (trial size) was on sale so I decided to give it a try after some research. I'm so glad I did! As soon as I applied the mask it was like a cold drink on a hot summer day for my hair. My hair turned out incredibly soft and there was no residue left behind. I did not have to use any additional conditioning product in my hair. My hair did feel a little thicker but it was after some uses and in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner in the same product line. The jar seems pricey at first look but a little goes a long way so the value is there. When in doubt, as previously mentioned, this can be found in sample pack trio. Wait for a sale for even less risk if you are concerned about it. My hair was soft, smooth, and after some uses, a little thicker. I highly recommend this stuff.
They only con is that I don't like the scent, it's quite awful to me. Others have said the scent was fresh but for me it just smelled quite unpleasant. However, it works so I am willing to endure the "stink". Scent is such a subjective thing.
This hair mask has made it to my "must haves" list.

I hesitated to try Venus Swirl before just due to the expense. However, a combination of sensitive legs due to neuropathy and dry skin, made me decide to give it a try when I saw it on sale.
First, it feels so much more comfortable on my skin compared to razor alone or razor and shaving cream. I find that it was quite effective, 2 strokes per area sufficed, and my legs were left soft and smooth. The scent was just an added bonus. I really like the little storage thing going it comes with so you can hang it up and keep away from water flow to prevent loss of the lotion bar when not in use.
The main con is really that the blade goes dull a lot quicker than others. I did not get the amount of uses out of it that the package claims. I shave my legs about three times a week and if I remember right the chart on package said I could expect blade to last 4-6 weeks. Not even close. At the fourth shave (not use) it gets a little uncomfortable as the blade drags a bit and catches on skin. On sixth shave its actually tearing my skin and isn't comfortable anymore. I can in best of circumstances, go to four uses, possibly to five, but definitely not to six. That means for me a blade lasts around week and a half. It gets pretty expensive at that blade use rate.
It's a little bit depressing, I won't lie. It works so great but only for a short time and for quite a bit less than they say it does. A few things though. They are way cheaper per blade at Costco. They sell a pack of 9 pack there that is gentler on the budget. It goes on sale once in awhile so it's an opportunity to stock up for more value if it's in your budfet to spend more now to save later. If you have an loyalty points programs you are part of you can save money by redeeming points.
I love how they work, just wish they were more durable and blades stayed sharp longer. My recommendation for these, if you don't mind razors and shaving cream you might get more bang for your buck, or in this case, more blade for your buck, by sticking to that. However, if your legs are sensitive or you want to shorten shower time by shaving legs quicker, and it's in your budget, I recommend Venus Swirl. I think I will be sticking with them now that I know I can get a good price at Costco.

I was pretty excited to get the opportunity to to try Nivea's new Cocoa Butter Body Cream. It took a little searching to find it in a store here but I found it after checking a few. The cashier asked how I snagged a coupon for the entire jar free and I told her about this site.
I will begin by saying that my skin runs on the sensitive dry side. When I opened the jar it smelled so yummy that me and the dog wanted to eat it. I can't do anything around here without my "shadow". We managed to resist getting a spoon. I found the scent to be fresh and once on skin it goes a bit more subtle. For some reason it reminded me of the beach.
I started by putting some on my arm and my skin just sucked up the cream like a sponge. It felt really nice, like a cold drink on a hot summer day. I applied it all over, except for obvious places like face, etc. I really liked that once it was on for a few minutes there wasn't a sticky filmy sort of feel that some lotions and body creams have. This is great year round but especially in summer when it's really humid and you are not keen on having any extra yuckiness to feel on your skin.
No breakouts to speak of, no stinging on freshly shaved legs. I used it daily for a little while so I could give it a fair shake. I'm still using it daily actually. It kept my skin smooth and soft and didn't have that uncomfortable tight feeling that I often get with my dry skin.
The only downside really is that it comes in a jar. For hygienic reasons I would prefer a pump bottle so there's less bacteria and such able to get in.
I would not mind more scents like.. chocolate! Or cherry, or cherry and chocolate! I am sure Nivea will get right on this
Thank you Nivea and Chick Advisor for the opportunity to try the new body cream.

I sweat for the reasons other people do but I also sweat due to medication side effects. I have become increasingly sensitive to warmer temperatures as well. A few months back it got to the point where I was concerned my "secret would tell", in other words, my antiperspirant /deodorant would fail. I had to really in the middle of the day to keep that from happening.
I decided to give the Dove a try and I'm really glad I did. I got the original scent which I found subtle and fresh smelling. No more concerns or reapplying in the middle of the day.
I was a little worried it would leave white marks on my clothes which is why I had been using a dry spray brand. Spraying thst stuff was like bug bombing a room while you're trapped inside. It wasn't tough enough for me. No concerns as of yet with the Dove and I've been using it for about a month now. I have not used it yet of course in the middle of the summer here where it gets really hot and horribly humid but so far so good. Thus is my new regular antiperspirant /deodorant.

I have really dry skin, hands included. I need my lotion to have staying power. This lemon and cream lotion smells wonderful and feels nice going on. Unfortunately for me it did not deliver the level of moisturizing that I need for my dry hands to feel comfortable.
I am recommending it because it is a wonderful aromatherapy item. So even if though the lotion doesn't address my needs as a moisturizer, it gets full stars as a scent pick me up.

My skin tends to run dry. I have an unfortunate all over body itch with no rash or anything. One theory is that it's some sort of allergen, though you'd think that would involve the skin having a rash or something visible. The other theory, and the most probable one is that it is caused by one of my medications. I have confirmed that one of them can cause the itching. However, it has a huge positive impact on my Wellness so much so that I will endure the itch. There you have it, my itching story. And in case anyone thinks, oh no, it's her liver, I have been to a liver specialist to just to err on the side of caution.
Aveeno enter stage left. I should mention that the itch is enough of a problem that I carry a backscratcher in my purse, the kind with the handle you can extend or shorten. Anyway, I digress. I automatically put this soothing Aveeno lotion on my hands. It is a must on my back. I wouldn't say that Aveeno necessarily prevents an itch but if there's a "hot spot" that is red and stinging from scratching this lotion is so soothing. The cool menthol feels good on the itchy area and I'm certain the oatmeal goes to work as well. From my understanding, menthol can help because it distracts the nerves from the itch sensation.
This product has become a staple in my skin care routine so I always make sure I don't run out of it. My husband recently tried it and really likes it so I'm sure I will be buying it a little more frequently now.
It does not smell like flowers or fruit and the menthol might be a strong smell for some. But the menthol smell weakens after a bit, at least in my experience. At this point I just care that it works, though I do like my pretty smelling lotions and bodywashes, etc like a lot of ladies do. If you have a skin condition causing your itch this may not be intense enough but unless doctor or pharmacist says otherwise, no harm I trying if you wish.

I love this stuff! I have sensitive rosacea prone skin thst can get pretty angry at times. I spray the thermal water on my face before applying moisturizer (also Avene). The water feels wonderful, it's like a nice big tall glass if ice water on a super hot summer day.
I work in an office and the air is so dry that sometimes I feel my face tightening up a little because it is also getting dry. A spray or two of thermal water on the face and then lightly massaging it is a great way to combat the dryness. I should mention that I don't wear makeup so I'm not sure it's a good idea to use the product the way I described if you wear makeup. If you have waterproof products you might be able to get away with a light misting and no rubbing in.
I am not a fan of really hot and humid summer weather and the heat often bothers me. I carry around the small can in my purse and a spray or two on a hot summer day feels really nice.
I also spray on the thermal water before applying body lotion, most especially in the winter months when my skin gets drier.
This stuff feels divine on the skin. It is perhaps a little pricey for thermal water in a can but it lasts awhile and everyone deserves to indulge once in awhile. And this product is great for men too. The product information and labeling on the packaging is often solely in French which can be a little annoying for those who don't know French but I didn't think it was a big deal for me.

You know those annoying smudge marks that mysteriously appear on your wall? I hate them. I have no children unless you count the furry ones but I do have young nephews. The smudge marks are looking a tiny bit less mysterious now actually.
On more than one occasion they have decided to draw on the wall with crayons. You turn your back for less than a minute and there's no telling what shenanigans they will get up to. The magic erasure removes the crayon with ease. And those smudge marks actually. And don't get me started on the light switch plates. Where does this dirt come from? Are hands that filthy? Something about the oils on the skin and dust maybe.
We have a beautiful dog who just turned one. He's rambunctious and not unlike my nephews actually, except my sister won't crate them. I kid of course. But said dog loves to get up on his hind legs and put his two front paws on the wall regardless of what is on them. Mud, poop, and other stuff. With a bit of elbow grease Mr. Clean's Magic Erasure casts a spell that makes the yuck vanish.
I've also used it on cupboards, fridge doors, baseboards, doors, window frames and lots of other stuff. The magic erasure is quite versatile.
While the erasure is very effective it does have a flaw. It is strong but does not have much stamina. The erasure wears out rather quickly in my opinion. Given the price I felt the value for my dollars just was not there. The quality is excellent for a short period of time but diminishes too fast to earn the highest quality rating. It is priced expensively for what little you get in the box. I have a wish they will add value by adding more magic erasures in the box to make up for the lack of toughness.
I still recommend this product because it is amazingly effective. I usually wait until there is a good sale and stock up then. Some jobs require a lot of elbow grease but for the most part light pressure did the trick. This is a good thing for someone who has any conditions that affect hand use.
