I got this moisturizer as part of a The Ordinary value set. To be honest, I was actually after the niacinamide serum in the set since the individual bottles were sold out every where. This is the weirdest moisturizer that I have ever used. One day I'll put it on and my skin will feel super dry a few hours later. I'll use it a few weeks later and it will do the opposite and keep my skin hydrated all day long. I haven't been able to figure out why I am experiencing this inconsistency...is it the other products I'm using, is it other environmental factors, is it the season? I dunno know...lol. The formula itself is very pleasant. It is fragrance-free and has kind of a soft whipped feel to it. It absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn't leave it feeling greasy. For less than $8 a tube, I do recommend people to try it out since it's a risk worth taking. -

This serum was my gateway to everything niacinamide...lol! When I keep getting maskne last year, I started doing research on how to prevent it. Virtually every article, blogger and YouTuber has this serum on their list to help combat those pesky maskne breakouts. I got this part of a value set since Sephora Canada was sold out but it was still pretty affordable. The serum worked like magic to prevent and reduce breakouts but I wasn't totally in love with it. I do find that this serum will and does pill with other products if you add 1 or 2 more extra drops. The zinc in the formulation also can sting and irritate my skin after application. Because of this, I have switched over to The Inkey List's version since I find it to be a better formula for me. I do recommend it for others to try though. -

Because I have "mature" skin, I decided to add this peptide serum to my skincare routine after hearing and reading great reviews about it. After using it for about a month now, I have noticed that my skin feels smoother and firmer. I also have also seen a decrease in breakouts so it has been working well with my other anti-blemish products. It does play well when layering and doesn't pill at all. For less than $15, this serum is a bargain and I do recommend it to others. -

I received this lip oil in an Ipsy Glam bag and was excited to try it as I love these type of products. Boy, was this one a major disappointment. First of all, the applicator is horrible. It does a terrible job of distributing the product onto the lips and I always end up with way too much. It also leaks at times so the tube sometimes feels sticky. It would have been better to have a doe foot applicator instead. Speaking of sticky, that is the consistency of this lip oil which is kind of weird. It feels slightly tacky on the lips and doesn't really hydrate them. The watermelon scent smells very artificial and isn't very pleasant. I don't recommend this product since there are much better lip oils on the market. -

I received this lip treatment in an Ipsy Glam Bag and it is one of my favourite moisturizing lip tints. I received it in the Mauve Pink shade and it's very pretty on the lips. The treatment itself applies very smoothly and is not tacky or sticky. My lips feel very hydrated while wearing it but the hydration is not long-lasting so I do need to re-apply it a few times during the day. The only downside is that the scent reminds me of a product I used when I was child. For the life of me I can't remember what that product is and it drives me nuts everytime I use this treatment...lol! -

Okay so before trying the Kraft Hazelnut Spread, I have to admit that my expectations for it going in were pretty low. I grew up on Nutella since it has been a staple in my household for years and never bothered to try other hazelnut spreads. My purchase of the Kraft spread was a recent throw in during my last online grocery shop. I saw that it was on sale and thought why not. Now that I have tried it I can admit that I am pleasantly surprised by this spread. The flavour profile is actually quite different from Nutella as it has more of a chocolaty taste versus a hazelnut one but there is still a nutty element to it. It is great on toast, bagels, and in baking. I would definitely repurchase this spread again and do recommend it to others! -

Covergirl Clump Crusher has been my go-to mascara for years. I’ll try other brands and formulations from time to time but I always end up going back to this mascara. The formula itself is smooth and goes on with minimal clumping. The curled brush has to be one of the best in the industry as the wand comes out of the tube clean therefore eliminating the need to remove excess mascara off of the brush before application. The mascara itself goes on so effortlessly and doesn’t leave lashes feeling gloopy. My only wish is that this formula would make my lashes look just a little bit fuller and thicker without having to apply 3 costs. The biggest selling point of this mascara is that it will not flake or transfer around the eye area. Even after wearing it all day, it’s rare I that need to clean or touch it up…it stays put for me. This mascara goes into my personal beauty product Hall of Fame! -

I’m lactose intolerant and I have been on the hunt for the ideal dairy-free coffee creamer for years…and I finally found it! In the past I tried soy, almond and coconut milk substitutes but I found them to be too watery and lacking in overall creaminess. The Earth’s Own Oat creamer is the closest to a dairy one that I’ve ever used. It blends into coffee well without affecting the taste and I even use it a cream substitute in for cooking & baking. This product can be on the pricey side but whenever I see it on sale, I’ll stock up since it keeps for a while. -

So I have been subscribed off and on with Ipsy for about 5 years now. I took a break for a couple of years because I was receiving too many duplicate products or ones that I didn't want or need. Last May, I decided to re-subscribe to as a pick-me-up at the start of the pandemic. Initially I was thrilled with my first 6 or so Glam Bags. I found that the Beauty Quiz was pretty accurate and I was actually receiving products that I liked and wanted. I was also impressed with the brand selection and discovered some great new products that I actually added to my skincare routine. But then the wheels started to fall off one by one by one. First was when I started to receive duplicate or similar products every month. Therefore, every month I would have to go into my Beauty Quiz and switch a category to "rarely" so stop getting another type of that product in my next bag. But no big deal because hey, at least we can customize right? Then I found out about the DLS controversy which I missed the first time when I was unsubscribed. I had two DLS affiliate products (Beauty Basics and Glow on 5th) in one of my Glam bags. For the sake of brevity, I won't get into the ethics of Ipsy partnering with these companies but there is a Reddit post about Ipsy, DLS and Alibaba for those who are curious. When I emailed Ipsy to complain, customer service did everything they could to avoid discussing these brand vendors with me so Strike Two for Ispy. And Strike 3 has been how long it now takes for me to get my bags. I have been getting them later and later and am not sure if it's an issue with their fulfillment centre or DHL or both. As Canadians, it's bad enough that we can't get GBP or GBX but we also have to pay for shipping and our deliveries are late. So after careful consideration, I will be cancelling my subscription once I use up my points and I'll be subscribing to a Canadian beauty box. I'm not recommending other subscribers to cancel as this is a personal choice of mine though I know I'm not the only one frustrated with them. Ipsy just simply no longer checks off boxes for what I look for in a subscription service. -

So I decided to try this darling of many a YouTube influencer to see if it is worth the hype. I was able to get it shipped to Canada from Cult Beauty which is based in the UK. Now for any newbies, it's extremely important to read and follow The Ordinary's directions to a tee. I also recommend to view a few YouTube videos on the best usage and application of the solution. For example, the best tip I got was to only use about 6 drops and apply a thin layer onto the skin for best results. No need to pile it on so it looks like a vampire facial. The first time I used it I was scared witless but my skin held up surprisingly well with no irritation or side effects. It makes my skin feel so smooth probably from exfoliating off all those dead skin cells...yeech! Though I haven't seen a huge improvement with my skin texture yet. I only use it about once a month so I don't damage my moisture barrier therefore I may need more patience before I see major results. Now would I repurchase it once I run out? Probably not since I would have to import it from another continent or buy it in-person next time I visit the US. I know that there are similar products on the market that are easier to obtain so I'll be moving on once I'm done with the bottle. Which could be a while since a little bit of the peeling solution goes a long way. -
