An item was priced at $500. I had an old ring that I brought in to trade that they valued at $60. So I gave them the ring and payed the remaining $440 on my debit card.
The person I bought it for didn't like it and so I tried to return it. They repeatedly refused to give me $500 in store credit, saying I was only entitled to $440. The owner was belligerent and insisted that I didn't 'understand' the situation.
After half an hour of arguing and drawing diagrams to explain it etc... he finally conceded and gave me a slip of paper with the $500 credit. He then decided against this and was trying to get the paper back from me, and saying he would make a note to NOT honor the slip of paper! I told him I wanted my money back, because at this point I was disgusted with the situation, and was willing to take the $440 refund and leave. He refused. I told him he was being a 'prick,' at which point he called security and had me escorted from the store (a first for me in 32 years of being alive).
