Pro-Active... I have a love/ hate thing going on with Pro-Active. All my life I've struggled with acne. It was never severe enough to use Acutane, but over the counter and drug store stuff never seemed to work, and believe me, I tried EVERYTHING!! In my late 20's I finally bought Pro-Active and saw great results! My skin finally balanced. It wasn't too oily, the break outs, if I ever did get them, were really minor and the refining mask worked like a charm to take care of that. On my skin, it worked amazingly! I finally had my friends say that my skin actually looked good. What a great feeling. I even stopped wearing heavy make up! (because that's a vicious cycle- acne, heavy makeup, clogged pores... if you've been there you know.)
I noticed that as soon as I stopped using it, my acne would return. So would the white heads. So I went back on it again. Then I started to begrudge the cost of it. It is really expensive, but it does work- the trick is that being a consumable, it will eat your wallet.
I've been off of Pro-Acvtive for about a year now. I switched to a mineral makeup (Bare Escentuals, I.D.- Sephora) and only use a mild cleanser day and night. I think using it as long as I did and making the switches has balanced out my skin. Maybe I finally grew out of it? It does work. I just hate the price.

So, I stooped to the brilliant marketing on this one. Love the packaging- it's a sexy stilleto heel. And I was drawn in by the claim to its "black patent high gloss shine". I have thin, but long lashes and when a decent mascara is used, I'm able to achieve a good look. I thought the "shine" factor would add just that little bit more to really make them stand out. (Why didn't someone think of that sooner?) I used it for a week before I gave it to my daughter. She didn't like it either. I didn't really like the way the brush applied; it seemed kind of - uneven? Some lashes would be gooped up and others were missed. I didn't see any noticable shine. There was definitely a raccoon look to my eyes by the end of the day. I tried to like it, I really did, but in the end, clever marketing got me and I went back to my old favorite, Loreal Double Extend lash tips. -

Um, can anyone say "Complete waste of money"? This was my first purchase of a lip-plumping gloss and when I put it on I waited for the sting. Tingle? Slight numbness? Something? NOTHING! The gloss isn't even of decent quality. It feels like you've doused your lips in petroleum jelly that melts on your mouth- yuck! (And it tastes like liquid petroeum jelly too- ew!) Okay the plumping factor? When your lips are dry or chapped, this can be a decent application (but it's hard to love because of its consistency). It gets rid of the deep lines and makes lips a bit smoother, but does nothing for "fullness" and nothing to create a decent pout. Save your 12 bucks and opt to spend 10 on Sexy Mother Pucker. At least the tingle will fool you into thinking you've got fatter, sexier lips. -

HANDS DOWN THIS IS THE BEST MASCARA on the market!! I love this! I wear contacts and always find that if you're out swimming, or tearing up at a wedding, or getting dry-eyes working in the office, that there is a noticable sting when I wear mascara. I have thin lashes, but they are long. I've been looking for the perfect mascara forever. I want my lashes to look natural; I hate stiff, clupmy lashes, but I want them to be noticed. When I use this stuff, I get excellent definition and a lots of extention- the combo rocks the look. I've had more people tell me how long my lashes look since I've been wearing this. There is no 5 o'clock smudge, there is no streaking and no flaking. I've used a lot of different kinds- I don't usually buy the same mascara twice, because there is always something better on the market. But this one I've bought again and again and again. -

I bought this after I went to Vegas with a girlfirend and forgot my foundation. She brought this with her and in all of my pics, I glow, I look flawless and I look natural! She swore by it and so I got home and blew the 75 bucks on the starter kit. It inluded the base primer, the mineral veil, 2 shades of medium and the bronzer. Plus a small concealer brush, a medium and large brush and an instructional DVD. The price at first seems steep, but once you use it and see the results, well, I haven't given the price a second thought. I have oily, acne proned skin that has never been perfect. Every makeup I've used previously clogs my pores or makes me feel like I'm wearing a mask. I was pretty skeptical at first, applying layer after layer, the drying factor (being a powder), or the cake factor (because of the oil). I was sure this was a lot of hype. It feels like you're wearing nothing and looks so natural. I love this stuff! -
Not too bad... I bought the "natural" shade. It smells like chocolate (yum!!). It's sort of sticky- you wouldn't want to be out in the wind with your hair blowing, but for sitting @ a desk all day, it's fine. The tingle seems to go on... +
Not too bad... I bought the "natural" shade. It smells like chocolate (yum!!). It's sort of sticky- you wouldn't want to be out in the wind with your hair blowing, but for sitting @ a desk all day, it's fine. The tingle seems to go on forever- it really feels like my lips have pins and needles, so it feels really strange but it's far from painful. Plumping... well, I'm not sure I would say this really swells the lips. If your lips are looking dry and creas-y, it perks them up enough for that, but for really noticable plump, this just doesn't cut it. -
