I am always weary of a restaurant that mixes Japanese AND Korean food on its menu (usually one suffers), but Hosu - Younge & Eglinton location - does not disappoint. The pricing is fairly standard, but the portion sizes are generous and the food is delivered quickly. Main courses at dinner come with sides of miso soup, edamame and salad. I have been here about 10-15 times in the past 6 months and have never received the wrong order or had to wait longer than standard.
Although I have tried many different things on the menu (sashimi, hand rolls a la carte, bento boxes, agashi, beef rolls) it's the dolsot bibimbap that keeps me coming back. For $9 you receive a larger than standard sizzling pot of yummy goodness. Glass noddles, crispy rice & loads of vegetables mixed together with a fried egg. I have dreams about this!
Again, the atmosphere is pretty standard, but there's definitely no one giving you the bums rush to clear a table like some places.
Overall, it's a nice little place to enjoy some yummy food for under $15.
