A man is kidnapped as a free black man, and sold into slavery. That is the main premise of the book, but the story is so much more than that.

Received an ARC from NetGalley.
I found the first half of the book to be rather slow. good premise, I'm interested in finding out more of what happens, but it didn't grab my attention.
About halfway through, the plot finally picks up and we understand more of what the storyline actually is. I enjoyed most of the second half of the story, though I feel like the end fell short. Lots of build up for a disappointing ending.
The plot idea has a lot of promise, but I didn't find this as enjoyable as I thought it would be.

This wasn't my favorite Jodi Picoult book. I really disliked Nicholas throughout the whole book. I wasn't sure what I wanted to see happen in the end but definitely felt the ending was abrupt and didn't care for how it went.
Definitely lacked the old "plot twist" I expect from her books.

Who knew that a satire written in the mid 1700's could be so hilarious and relatable even today! This was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't aware it was even satire until after I started reading it. This had me laughing out loud many times

Received this book free from NetGalley. Something about the description caught my attention and I had to read it. A book about books? How can there be anything better than that! Add in a perfect bit of chick lit love story and the whole "will they/won't they" and you have a perfect page-turner that has you wanting more as you read it.
I love the way the author includes bits about existing books, I even managed to find some books to add to my own "to-read" list. And the humour in this book is fantastic.
A well written book from a first time author that I will be watching for more.

Full Disclosure: I received this book through NetGalley, to read and review, before publication. However the book was published before I finished reading it.
This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. Ups and downs. Highs and lows. Just like real life. Ivo is a 40 year old diabetic who hasn't made the best choices in life. You know early on in the book that something significant happened to/with his girlfriend, but you don't know until the end what that something was. It kept me engaged in the book all the way through.
The style of writing of this book, little mini stories of the past based on the game Ivo is playing at the suggestion of his nurse, the A-Z game, mixed in with "present day" Ivo's story, is unique and one I really enjoyed.

I received a free sample of this product a while back, and it came with a coupon. I loved the sample, and immediately went out and bought the full size products with the coupon. I love the coconut smell and plan to continue to use this product when I need to purchase more conditioner.
The only thing I don't like is that the opening the conditioner comes out of the bottle in tends to get gunked up, and it is a little difficult to squeeze the conditioner out of once the amount in the bottle gets too low.
