I received the Vichy Ideal Body Milk to test out and right away I knew it was a product that wasn't going to match my skincare needs. I prefer to use creams with a thick butter consistency that absorbs well into the skin, hydrates it and leaves it soft. Moments after applying the cream on my hands, I felt like they needed to be re-moisturized. Perhaps I have really dry skin and so I think it's more suitable for those who don't have this issue. There's also a perfume scent to the cream, which isn't something I look for in a daily moisturizer. I have put the bottle on my night stand beside my regular body lotion and I find myself reaching for the latter. Maybe this body lotion works for some, but it didn't meet my skincare needs. -

I love all Dove body washes, but this one is my absolute favourite! It smells fresh and delicious, and I love using it with a loofa. It leaves my skin super soft and I can't stop sniffing myself! It's perfect to use in the summer because it leaves a nice and subtle scent on my body. -

A purchase from the L’Oréal sale, I came across this product in one of the thousands of bins in the warehouse and was curious as to how the product worked. Snatching it for $4 rather than $11 SRP, it didn’t hurt to try it out. The texture is of a clear gel that gets absorbed by the heat of your skin and has a matte finish. When applied with pressed powder over it, my pores seemed to be less evident, especially on my nose. You can apply the pore eraser below your eyes, your forehead and anywhere else you want to mask unwanted pores. A little goes a long way so it’s a product that will last. -

Twice a year in Montreal, there’s a L’Oréal and Marcelle/Annabelle sale where most of their current products are sold at ridiculously low prices. I went by the Marcelle/Annabelle one and I picked up a lot of different products that I never tried before to test them out. Plus, when everything is at $2.50, why wouldn’t you? One of the products that I snatched was the pressed powder and having oily/combo skin (SRP $19), it’s difficult to find a setting powder that will stay matte throughout the day. Once applied, it feels light and I noticed that it covered my t-zone shine immediately and held up for most of the day. I touched up towards the end of the day before heading out for drinks, but it’s a great product that I’d definitely buy again. -

This is a product that I’ve been using for years. Although it’s a concealer, I also use it as a lid primer prior to applying eyeshadow. It covers dark circles and conceals blemishes very well that I dab it in the spots that need covering and forego using all-over foundation. It has a creamy texture that goes on smooth from a sponge tip when you wind up the bottom part of the tube. Dab the sponge directly on your skin and you can either set it with a concealer brush or your finger. It doesn’t become caky on your skin, which I love. This concealer comes in a few shades so you’ll be able to find one that matches your skin tone. -

I came across this palette in a drugstore and it was on sale, so I said to myself, why not? I really like neutral tones and when I saw the colours, I knew I would you most, if not all of them. Sometimes I’ll find a palette that I’ll like, but half of them are of a blue or purple colour, which I don’t use. I was also curious to see how it held up against the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette I already owned. Another upside to the purchase was that it’s a great travel size. I brought my Naked 2 palette once travelling and my suitcase made impact with the ground and some of the eyeshadows crumbled and fell out. What’s interesting about The Nudes’ palette is that you can mix all the colours, but the colours are also set in the particular order that they’re in to become 3 quads and 6 duos. You can create different looks by focusing on a colour set, or free-styling it and create your own combos. There’s a mix of matte and glitter eyeshadows, which aren’t highly pigmented, but the colours can easily be built up. -

I never really had eyebrow shaping or filling as part of my makeup routine until one day I saw this product in store and spontaneously wanted to try it out. I’ve heard of powders to fill your brows or even pencils, but I tried it once and it was a terrible look with the lines being too defined and the colour too harsh. This brow gel is a really great product to shape and deepen the colour of your brows. I absolutely love this product because it gives your brows a natural look and not like they were penciled in or drawn on with a sharpie. It thickens and shapes your brows in a natural way and that's why I'm so fond of this product. -
