The Polish to Gel Transformer Kit is a great way to save some money on a gel mani. The whole set costs about $50 CAD.
It comes with:
- an LED lamp, to cure your nails
- a nail primer (which is really teeny, but a little goes a long way) to prime your nails for the polish to gel mixture
- the polish to gel transformer, which is like a base/top coat consistency

There are two methods that can be used with this kit:
1- create a polish/gel transformer mixture with your favourite nail paint and the gel transformer, or;
2- paint your nails with a regular and top with the polish to gel transformer top coat

I prefer to paint my nails with a regular nail polish and top it with the gel transformer because I'm able to get a smoother application with my regular polish. The mixing technique, I find, results in streaky looking nails, and it's definitely harder to soak off after two weeks.    -
