I love red. It makes me think of sunsets, autumn leaves, Christmas, (Canada - I consider myself to be very patriotic), and all other good things. I've had a lot of trouble trying to find a red shadow that works. They're either not pigmented enough or make me look like I have some sort of nasty eye infection.
Sugarpill is a fairly new independent makeup company, run by the lovely Amy, and the name couldn't be any more fitting because I for one am addicted. Love is easily one of the most gorgeous red shadows I have ever come across. The colour is pigmented and long lasting. There is also something almost velvety about it during the application process.
The other great thing about Sugarpill and Amy is the customer service. Every order comes beautifully packaged, with a sparkly sticker, a business card and a sample of one of the loose shadows. Amy also handwrites a thank you on the receipt.

Using Tish & Snooky's Manic Panic was my first experience colouring my own hair. I've always been a fan of crazy and wild colours, especially crazy and wild looks - which was what prompted me to buy the colour's "Hot Hot Pink," and "Atomic Turquoise."
The procedure of the actual colouring is very simple. Test patch, brush, bowl, use gloves, etc; However most colours work better on bleached or pre-lightend hair. As a brunette I did have some trouble getting the Turquoise in particular to work. The Hot Pink turned out fantastically, and had different shades in my streaks. However if you look at their website you can see different pictures of people who have used their dyes, and the hair colour they had before, which may give you a better idea.
I love how my look turned out, it's a blast of colour and isn't too overwhelming. The dye is semi-permanent, and will gradually fade over time. One of the best things I like about Manic Panic, is the fact that they now have Vegan dyes. I will definitely be using this dye again in the future, and depending on the colour will be lightening my hair.
Another fun thing about the dye (saving the best for last) is that the colour will glow under black light! How fun is that!

I first stumbled across L'Express Café kiosk during the 2010 Olympics. I was heading off to practice for the Opening/Closing ceremony performers and needed a hit of something before I went. It has now become one of my go-to places.
Everything I have had from L'Express has been amazing. I especially recommend the hot chocolate - it is easily the best hot chocolate I have ever had. My Aunt visits from the States once a year, and every visit she makes sure she goes to get some hot chocolate.
Affordable prices, and the customer service is brilliant - I'd recommend this place to anyone and to everyone! There is a reason the Vancouver Sun voted it one of the best places to get coffee!
