Polysporin’s Heal Fast formula is perfect for our family. We require an ointment that is effective, protects and heals cuts and sores, doesn’t sting upon application, and that spreads easily (and without mess) to cover both small and large areas. This is our favourite version of Polysporin - abd we’ve tried them all! -

These Skin-Flex Bandaids are fantastic! We use at least one box of Bandaids in our home each month, and have tried multiple brands, varieties, sizes and materials. The Skin-Flex Bandaids stayed on very well, protected the area from germs, and didn’t leave any weird residue or rash behind, after removal. We need bandages that are effective, flexible, durable and gentle on skin that sees a lot of wear and tear... and these fit our family to a “T”! -

Avon's new Derma line addresses the need for Eczema-safe skin products! I've used over-the-counter lotions and washes, baby-safe products, products made for sensitive skin - you name it - but nothing has worked as well, or as quickly, as Avon's Derma Soothing Body Lotion! (Other than prescription steroid creams, and unless it's medically necessary, who wants to keep using those over a long period of time?! They're effective, but awful for your skin.)
The Derma lotion is fragrance-free, has a fabulously light, silky, gel-water texture, and is absolutely kind to sensitive, eczema-prone skin. There is no stinging, no rubbing needed, and the itchiness, roughness and redness are immediately relieved and improved - and the results last! With no fear of applying "too much" (unlike medicated creams) you can simply use a touch more as needed, and in a couple of days, my own experience had my skin back to normal, and without the tight, slightly numb feeling that can accompany the use of medicated creams.
This is child-safe, as well, which is a huge plus for moms of young children - no one wants to resort to using harsh steroids on their children, unless absolutely necessary.
I highly, highly recommend Avon's Derma Soothing Body Lotion - for the price (often on sale in their catalogues!!) you can't beat the effectiveness - it's a deal, and it works!

I have used conditioning sprays in the past, with varying results... and I had high hopes for Pantene's Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioning Shake, given how much I like the shampoo and conditioner! Unfortunately, this product did not blow my mind.
It smells good, sprays easily, is very light-textured, is reasonably priced, and looks as though it will last a long time - these are the positives.
The downside? It made my hair sticky and stiff - almost as though I had gotten some yogurt into my hair by mistake, by running my foody-fingers through it. Now, to be fair, the first time I used this product, I spritzed it onto my towel-dried hair, and let it air-dry. I didn't comb it through, since I like to keep the natural waves in my hair that happen from air drying.... So after that less-than thrilling result, I tried again, a few days later. With comb-through and blow drying, the results were better - much less stickiness, and no crunchies. But because I want a product I can use the way *I* want to use it, I won't be rebuying this particular conditioner - I'll stick to their "classic" application, since I loved the results so much!

Pantene's Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioner impressed me even more than the shampoo! I am a conditioner junkie, and I have long, thick hair. Conditioners need to satisfy quite a few of my "conditions" before they make it onto my repeat buy list! This conditioner smells great, spreads easily, doesn't require half the bottle per use, makes my hair feel soft, airy and touchable, detangles any knots, and very importantly - rinses away completely in an amazingly short amount of time!! There was a noticeable difference in how much water I had to use to rinse this conditioner out of my hair - all for the good! Less time in the shower less water consumption = happy camper. -

Pantene's Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo addresses some shampoo complaints I have had in the past... Heavy, goopy formulations with overly strong fragrances, that take a day's worth of water consumption to rinse out of my long, thick hair... With this Aqua Light Shampoo, you get a lovely (truly, it is!) scent that is light and airy, a clear, very easy-to-lather formula, and a noticeably reduced rinse time, even with thick, long hair! I also liked that one application did the trick, even though my hair hadn't been washed for a couple of days - that means more change in my pocketbook, over the long run! A very nice shampoo that I look forward to buying again, especially on sale! -

I had never in my life used a Masque on my hair, and to be honest, I was pretty much suspicious of just how worth it, following the instructions to towel-dry my hair inbetween shampooing and conditioning, would be. Well. Have I been told.
Let me now declare that L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Masque has not only relieved me of my vir-Masque-ginity, but it has opened up a whole new world of possibilities, in terms of how moisturized, softened and manageable my hair can be!!
I'll admit that it takes a lot for me to fork over $34.00 for any hair product that washes out. But I can see myself making an exception for this Repair Masque. My hair was always "good", in that it pretty much does what I ask it to, on any given day. But it has NEVER felt this soft, this bouncy, this touchable - and that was even without using a hairdryer, to seal in the effects!
The scent is lovely - light, tropical, and understated, The texture is creamy, easy to work with, and a little goes a long way - I've used it sparingly with my long hair, and I'm sure I have multiple treatments left in the jar! I might not use this after every shampoo - in fact, I'm certain I won't (I'm too cheap) - but I'll WANT to, and that says a lot. This Repair Masque definitely lives up to its promises, and together with the Intense Repair Shampoo, delivers a boost of moisture and softness that my hair hasn't experienced in a very, very long time.
A pleasantly-surprised and very impressed thumbs-up!

I have high expectations when it comes to "better-than-drugstore-brand" shampoos, so I'll cop to that particular bias, right off the bat. What do I love about L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Shampoo? The lovely, light, tropical scent, the easy lathering, the rinsability, and the feel of moisturized, smooth hair, post-rinse. What do I only *like* about this shampoo? The size of the bottle (I have longer hair, so it won't take me much time to go through this product, I'm afraid...) and the feeling that the bottom third of the product is going to be tricky to extract, given the firmness and shape of the container.
Together with the Repair Masque, I will say that this is definitely a winning duo. I loved the results - bouncy, soft, moisturized hair with very few fly-aways, and a really silky touch. But on its own, my rating for the shampoo is a solid B , since for the price, I wish there was a bit more product, and that I'd be confident in being able to use it all, down to the very last drop.

The Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush has completely changed my mind about "fancy" toothbrushes. I was a hold-out - an "old school" toothbrush user - I mean, why pay more than $1.89 for a toothbrush if you don't have to, right?! Wrong.
When this beauty arrived in the mail (and it IS a beauty - sleek, modern, slim design with easy-access controls, and a small sized head that easily reaches into those back corners of the mouth) I was impressed with its good looks. And when I used it for the first time that night, I was beyond impressed. I had been expecting a loud, buzzing, invasive shake-up that would have me chucking it across the bathroom. Instead, I found it to be much, much quieter than expected, and although it took a little adjustment to get used to the feeling of the sonic power, it was immediately clear to me that being open to change was completely worth it!
The timer ensured that I'm actually cleaning my teeth for the dentist-approved amount of time - a first for many of us, I'd say. And I loved the option of having 2 modes of cleaning - a regular setting, and a sensitive setting for other areas of the mouth (like the tongue, cheeks, or tender spots) that need a little TLC. I have a touchy spot near my top molars that my old, manual toothbrush has not been kind to, and so I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the Oral-B Pulsonic was able to clean that area without causing any pain! I used the precision tip (this extra brush head is included in the package!) and the sensitive setting for this area, and was relieved to know that this sensitive area that I had probably been avoiding for too long, was finally getting the attention and care it deserves.
I love that the Oral-B Pulsonic isn't heavy in my hand, that it charges in its own recharging base, so I don't have to fuss around with battery-replacement, and that it beeps every 30 seconds, to remind me to move onto the next quadrant of my mouth. This is Brushing For Dummies, basically, and the result is the cleanest teeth I've ever had, outside of the dentist's chair! I get that "post-professional-cleaning" feeling, with none of the pain or hassle, and I can only imagine that my dentist is going to be over the moon at my next appointment!
A huge thumbs up from me on this product - I'm a convert! The price-tag is still below other similar toothbrushes, making the Oral-B Pulsonic a good value - especially considering the cost of a professional cleaning, and the fact that we only get one set of teeth! - and my feeling is that once you've given it a try, you won't be able to go back to your two dollar toothbrush. In this case, you really *do* get what you pay for.

I'm not really a mascara aficionado, but I do wear it when the need arises - mostly for dressing up and going out with the girls, or for the most formal of the events I work.
The tube is kind've cheap-looking, I have to say - the "gold foil" look really needs to stay locked inside its late 80's-early 90's time capsule, IMO. But the applicator wand and brush make up for that, in spades!!
The mascara goes on smoothly, and the bristles are smartly shaped to make sure you can reach 99% of all your lashes on the first and second sweeps - a super feature, if you're an anti-glob, anti-falsie mascara girl, like me. I like to have my lashes look enhanced, but not Botox'd, if you KWIM.
This mascara worked well for me - very little to no flaking, (and I tend to have sensitive, rubby eyes) and good coverage and staying power, even behind glasses and in hot weather. (To be fair, I was only wearing it for about 6 hours, so take that into consideration, if need be.)
For someone who wouldn't put *any* mascara on her "10 items I need on a deserted island" list, I was happily surprised! Buy it on sale for an even better bang for your buck - I'd give this a solid thumbs-up!
