So I've always been the kind of girl who prefers wearing a bronzer to a blusher! For me using a bronzer adds a bit of warmth to my face and gives a natural and glowy finish (depending on the type of bronzer used). Recently I discovered baked bronzer's, I had no idea what they were or that they even existed but they allow for a satin-glow finish. I have two main bronzers that I use the benefit Hoola (my favourite) and the Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer, depending on the look that I want to create I will alternate between these. The hoola bronzer is a matte bronzer that allows me to add warmth to my overall make up look leaving a natural and subtle look (I tend to opt for this look most of the time). When I am in a bit of a rush or just want to keep the amount of products I use minimal I will use my baked bronzer, this is because it adds a bit of shimmer to my face and means that I don't have to add a highlighter too, but if you want an extra glow you can!
However, recently I came across this fantastic product - Mac's Iridescent Powder from their new Electric Wonder collection (shade Into Eternity). My mum purchased it before I did and when I tried hers I immediately fell in love, little did I know that it was a limited edition product and by the time I came to wanting to buy it, it was pretty much out of stock everywhere! I searched and searched the internet and finally found three in stock on the Debenhams website and ordered it as quick as I could in order to not miss getting this amazing product!
As you can see in the photo it just looks so amazing! I've always been very cautious when using blusher's, as I have a darker skin tone so they can look quite odd if not blended or matched properly. Hence why I have tended to stick with bronzer's and stay away from blush! But when I tried this one I couldn't believe how natural it looked on my skin and the glow it gave my overall make up look. Not only does it add that bit of colour to my cheeks it gives me one of the most natural yet best glows I have ever seen! You definitely don't need to use a highlighter when you use this power on your cheeks, it does that for you! I only apply a small amount of this product across my cheeks and ensuring I pop a little bit on the apples of my cheeks, literally a 2-second job (great for those busy days!)
A lot of you probably don't know what an iridescent powder is (don't worry, I had no idea either) but it is a mixture of finely pressed mica and pigments that give the skin a radiant sheen, particularly with this one by Mac, it allows for a subtle glaze of colour. Mica is a type of mineral that adds a natural sheen to the face when used and can be added to foundations and other various products to add a beautiful sheen to your make up. As this blusher is made up of pure pigments mixed with mica you only need to use a very little bit, so I am hoping that means it will last me a while as I don't know whether it will still be available when I do finish it (not looking forward to that). It's quite gutting when you find a product you love and then it gets discontinued and the hunt for the perfect bluster, bronzer, foundation, etc., has to be restarted.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is in need of a natural blusher that can be worn for any occasion, you can keep it simple and subtle for day-to-day events but add some highlighter and really make it glow for evening events! It's such a versatile product. However, I am not sure how widely available it still is, I think you may have more chance if you pop into a Mac store or stand within department stores rather than searching online! But good luck finding it if you're going to try! It has become one of my go to products now and I love the look it gives! I was given the opportunity to try out the new multi-masking kit from generation clay. Multi-masking is a new technique to using face masks in which you use different masks on different areas of your face depending on what you wish to tackle. I was kindly gifted three different masks by Generation Clay and Blaq Mask in their new supersize travel bottles, making them perfect for taking away too!
My initial thoughts of the masks is that they work really well and left my skin feeling so soft and smooth. Having been suffering with dry and problematic skin for the past couple of months, these masks couldn't have come into my life at a better time! I will take you through each mask individually and explain the benefits of them all. However, if you want to see a quick video of how it works and the results then head on over to my instagram page @kkbeauty_xx where I posted a short clip!
The first mask that I used was the Detoxifying Charcoal Clay Mask. I applied this to my T-Zone area (forehead and nose). There are four main benefits of this mask; Refine, Purify, Brighten and Soothe. The masks refines the skin by reducing oil and minimising the appearance of pores. This is the main reason I applied this mask to my T-Zone area as my nose has a large number of pores and these are the two areas of my face that get quite oily. Secondly, it purifies the skin as it draws out impurities, toxins and pollutants. As well as this, it brightens the skin by rejuvenating dull, tired skin and fading of dark spots. Finally, this mask soothes the skin as it works as a calming agent to reduce inflammation.
Initially, i have been very impressed with how this mask turned out. As I still have only used it once I'd be interested to see if I keep seeing the continued benefits with continued use. The mask has quite a sweet smell compared others I have used before. I have noticed with using clay masks they dry up very quickly making them harder to apply, however, this mask applied quickly and easily with a brush (I tend to use a foundation brush to apply my face masks). The pores on my nose were visibly reduced and my skin hasn't seemed to get very oily throughout the day! I would definitely recommend this mask for any who gets an oily T-Zone like me!
The second mask I used as part of my multi-masking kit was the Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask. I applied this mask across my cheeks. Again this mask has four benefits for your skin; Nourish, Illuminate, Brighten and Refine. It nourishes skin by reducing free radical damage and slowing down the ageing process. Secondly, it illuminates the skin by boosting hydration and collagen production. As with the charcoal mask it brighten and refines the skin.
I feel as though with this mask I will need to continue to use it on a regular basis to see a large difference, whereas with the charcoal mask I noticed a difference almost immediately. However, my skin felt hydrated and smooth after the first use. This is one I will definitely keep using and will do an updated review after i have been using it as part of my skincare routine for a couple of months.
The third mask in the multi-masking kit is the Urban Defence Purifying Pink Clay Mask. I applied this mask across my jaw bones, chin and upper lip. The benefits of this mask are the same as the benefits of the charcoal mask.
As noticed with the charcoal mask, I immediately noticed a difference in my skin after using this mask. The skin around my cheeks and jaw bones has been problematic in the last few months and even though I have only used this once, I noticed that the amount of dry skin I have had has reduced. I have been suffering with patches of dry, flaky skin on my face and been trying to keep my face hydrated, however, nothing seems to be working. Since using these masks my face seems to be a lot more hydrated and the patches of dry skin have visibly reduced.
I would definitely recommend using these Generation Clay face masks to everyone and anyone, no matter your skin type! You may not need them all, or like me would love to try them all out! I love trying out different face masks and skin care products as each product works differently on everyone's skin and if your skin is anything like mine it is constantly changing. Some months I have amazing, flawless skin that doesn't trouble me (touchwood that continues) yet other months I have problematic skin where I keep breaking out and suffer from dry skin patches.
I am thankful to Andreas and all the team at Generation Clay and Blaq Mask for allowing me the opportunity to try out these amazing masks! I was definitely amazed at the benefits of these products from even just one use and they are products I will be working into my weekly skincare routine!

So first I will give you a bit of background about my hair, I have dark, thick, long and quite coarse hair. It's not straight and it's not wavy it's an in between that gets quite frizzy and was pretty dry. I had gone into a hair salon with the intention of purchasing the Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner and was told about this mask, as I wanted to dye my hair for the first time I thought it would be a good idea to ensure my hair was in the best condition before adding the dye, so I decided to purchase the hair mask and give it a go.
They way this mask works is firstly you shampoo your hair, then you put the mask in and leave it for around 40-60 minutes before washing it out and using a small amount of conditioner to finish off. I noticed a massive difference in the condition of my hair from the very first use, initially I used it on a weekly basis for the first few weeks to bring the condition of my hair up, now I use it every 10-14 days. Having hair as thick as mine meant that I opted for the intense version of this mask, but there is a lighter version available for finer hair which works in exactly the same way. My hair is now in a much better condition to what it was in previously, as my natural hair is quite frizzy I either straighten or curl my hair which damages the condition of my hair, since using this repairing hydration mask my hair seems as though it has much more life and is a lot easier to work with and style on a daily basis.
I immediately noticed that the ends of my hair were no longer dry and wispy but instead full of life and looked so healthy. I naturally have quite shiny hair which is quite a nice type of hair to have as it always looks so smooth and sleek. However, for as long as I can remember I've always had flyaways (pieces of hair on the top of your head that stick up!) Yes these are so annoying, I can never achieve a full sleek look as they will never sit down! With using this mask I have noticed a slight difference in the flyaways but they are still there, even more annoying now that the condition of my hair has improved and looks a lot healthier!
I would definitely recommend this hair mask to anyone who wants to improve the condition of their hair, it is safe to use on coloured hair too as it is sulfate and paraben free! I have found that you only need a small amount and it still does an amazing job, I have had the tub for around 2-3 months now and I've hardly even made a dent in it so it definitely goes a long way! It also smells amazing, I use the moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner along with the mask just to ensure that my hair has the same smell when I've finished washing it out as I just love it! Although, I have been told that the smoothing Moroccan Oil hair mask will work wonders on my flyaways, so I will definitely be purchasing this in the near future and do another review on that mask! Don't forget, you can keep up to date on a daily basis of all things beauty on my instagram page @kkbeauty_xx.
