Let me tell you about a sporty little slide that does wonders for your feet, The Adidas Adissage! Recently, I purchased this sporty shoe upon trying it on at my local Shoe Carnival retail store. Although it is basic in structure/design and definitely not the cutest shoe in the world, it is very functional as the little "nubs" on the inside of the sandal gently massage your feet and activate pressure points as you walk!
Great for blood circulation in the feet and a great reliever for your tired tosies!
Retailing between $15-$30 on the net, I opted to purchase my sandals at Zappos.com, due to the fact they offered the sandal in black/hot pink, I didn't want the basic black and white version, which is generally about $25-$28. I always dare to be different!
I highly recommend these sandals.

Recently I purchased this adorable wrist bag, by Moe. Available in a variety of colors, patterns and fabrics (from leather to silk), this is the HOT bag for Summer 07' and I think it has serious staying power.
You can view it on the wrist of many a celebrity mover-and-shaker!
From casual to dressy to downright funky and hip, this little bag is both functional and adorable. The whole concept is that it is the perfect bag for all your "little needs" like your cell phone, lip gloss and cash. If you are not a fan of big, bulky purses, this may be the perfect bag for you or for that special friend!
(Krista's Idea: Would make a very nice graduation gift for gals going off to college next fall). If you are the cool aunt or big sis who always gives the best gifts this would be one of them!
I purchased my Moe bag at www.shopjuci.com. I strongly recommend surfing the net for a reputable dealer and checking out the best prices. In general, I found this bag selling anywhere from $130 (my purchase price) to $195!
While I haven't showed off this "hip little number "(I bought the Christy style in Asian Red), I am looking forward to it's debut at my friend's bachelorette party in the city. What I love is that this purse is versatile (you can wear it with jeans AND when you are glammed up). It is a brilliant punch of color which is uncharacteristic for me being I love the basics, black, white and grey. I am sure this little bag will be noticed as a welcome addition to my wardrobe.
Is it a little pricey? Well I would say it is comperable in price to a Coach bag but just a little "cooler"!!! I think it is not a "dated" item and a unique wrist bag you can use for years.
I try to look at it like this...
At $130, that is $10.90 a month (for a year).
Ok $10 a month on a chic bag, a little treat for yourself....GO FOR IT GIRL!!!! :)

Like lots of women, I have experimented with my hair. Unfortunately,I have had my share of hair disasters, twice frying my hair with perm solution (once myself, another time by a stylist I trusted...but shouldn't have).
The cheapest, most effective conditioner I have ever used to help my hair regain elasticity and moisture is Keraphix by Nexxus. Relatively cheap, Keraphix works great in small quantities (so the product lasts longer) and you can rub it in the damaged areas after shampooing, put on a plastic cap and watch your favorite shows while deep-conditioning. For added benefits I have added some replenishing oil to the conditioner, but overall Keraphix works well on it's own. Even after repairing my hair, I remain a loyal fan of the product line.
If you fried your hair don't "freak" and cut it all off, find a reputable stylist and get their opinion. Unfortunately the only cure for fried hair is time and patience. If it is severely fried, limit your hair washing to twice a week until you get about 2inches of healthy outgrowth and definitely deep condition at least 2xs a week.

I have tried everything for my combination skin and let me tell you: Bare Minerals is the BEST!
What I love about mineral make-up in general, is that it is light and doesn't leave residue on your face when you wash it. Having acne proned skin, Bare Minerals covers effectively and makes me look glam with minimal effort.
One tip I learned: If you are like me and have oily skin in the summer and dry in the winter, try alternating seasonally between liquid foundation and mineral foundation. When you have dry skin, as I do in the winter, the mineral make-up has nothing to adhear to and it tends to slip off your face giving you the dreaded washed-out look. It is during those times I switch to a good liguid foundation like Studio Works (Ulta's house brand).
Although it seems pricey, Bare Minerals go a long way. You don't need to do much, just swirl, tap and buff it on. It gives you a natural glow and your skin feels healthier, like it can breathe!
I recommend purchasing a starter or specialty kit rather than individual make-up pots because you save more in the longrun. I also want to warn:
I have tried several "mineral make-ups" and in my opinion nothing works as well as Bare Minerals. Don't waste your money trying to find a cheaper brand...or you'll end up wasting more than if you just bought Bare Minerals in the first place!

Ok. So we don't LOVE going to the dentist!
Well the majority of us don't love it.
I personally don't enjoy going to the dentist, but my dentist is a great guy and his office is clean and staff very, very cheerful
(the latter being uncommon in most medical offices today).
What I like most about Dr. Beck is that he is very professional and explains things to you in layman's terms. The cleanings are thorough and he doesn't push anything you don't need.
The patient comes first and you really feel that upon your arrival!
Located in the small town of Prospect Hts., Dr. Beck has decent hours and accepts new patients on a regular basis. On average, a teeth cleaning is around $98.
What I love is the appointment is quick and there are huge televisions to watch while getting your teeth cleaned. If you are lucky, his little daughter will poke her head around the corner and say hello.
Small town feel but very customer oriented. The best dentist I have had to date!

As for Rafe's line, I am so impressed with the quality, I own two handbags and two clutches. My next purchase will surely be his fun little straw? woven bucket bag for spring! At $20-$60 a pop, Rafe's Target line is trendy, fun and will get you noticed! I have had both women AND men comment on the handbags and how sharp they look!
Being a handbag aficionado I was surprised by the overwhelming response to this $49 hobo bag versus my $800 Louis Vuitton. Maybe it is because Louis Vuitton, while constructed with the utmost quality and care, has saturated the handbag market. Perhaps?
To sum it all up: If you are looking for a hot, new handbag for spring, bypass the familiar Coach and Louis Vuitton's and try something new and AFFORDABLE!
Just think of it like this: For the price of two Coach bags you can buy a few of Rafe's Target bags and splurge on a new pair of Mahnlo Blahnik sandals for your pretty, little toesies!
If Carrie Bradshaw really existed I think she'd agree with me, in fact, I am pretty sure she would!!!
Happy Shopping!

The other day I commented on another Chick Advisor's review for Clinique's Take the Day Off Make-up Remover. In this review, the Sweet Chick wrote she would rather spend $6 on Neutrogena's Dual-Phase Eye Make-up Remover which was similar in action, rather than spend the $20 for Take the Day Off.
Now I am a HUGE fan of Take the Day Off but had not tried the Neutrogena Dual-Phase Eye Make-up Remover.
All I can say is wow! While Neutrogena's product seems to dry faster making your eye-lashes not feel as conditioned as the Clinique product, it is very effective! Not only is it packaged similarly (in a clear purple bottle) you are saving about $14, and a little of this product goes a long way.
Now, I am a loyal follower of Clinique and it is not a splurge for me to spend the $20 for my fabulous eye-make up remover, but for ladies on a budget who still want quality and consistency of a good eye make up remover this stuff works great!
My only complaint is that there is no safety seal on this product when you buy it in the store. I kinda like the fact the Clinique product at least comes in a sealed box (tamper resistant) but other than that, a great find and kudos to the Sweet Chick for the original suggestion!

While it is discreetly nestled in the corner of a busy strip mall, Hanabai is a pure delight and a hidden jem in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Upon your arrival at Hanabai, you are warmly greeted by Sera (pronounced Sara) the owner and sushi chef. Almost always busy and filled with young, old all ages and ethnicities, Hanabai seems to be the place to go when you are craving sushi and want a inexpensive taste of quality cuisine served up with a friendly smile.
From a wide variety of sushi rolls to traditional Japanese fare, Hanabai serves up success in the quiet, family town of Buffalo Grove. My favorites are Sera's Spider Rolls (soft shell crab), Crazy Rolls (jalapeno and scallops) and the always wonderful California Roll (crab, cucumber and avocado). If you are looking for a new spot to try some delish Japanese fare, give Hanabai a try!
Tell Sera Krista sent ya!

Looking for a fun, spring scent that allures many a compliment? Try Paris Hilton's "Heiress". While I am not a big fan of Ms. Hilton herself, I must say she markets a lovely perfume! Upon the first scent I completely fell in love with this flowery scent with a touch of citrus oomph. It is not an overbearing perfume, and it puts me in a pleasant mindset every morning I put it on. In the past three months, I have almost used half a bottle I love it so much!
Currently, Ms. Hilton has two top-selling perfumes: "Heiress" and the aptly named, "Paris Hilton". While my co-worker wears the latter, she has recently switched upon smelling my happy, little scent. It is reminiscent of a warm summer day and mentally takes you to paradise!
A nice break from work I must say!
And ladies - men like it too! While men usually are attracted to richer, darker perfumes such as the classic, Opium, this perfume has gained me many a compliment on it's feminine aroma.
At $35 for a gift set including body lotion and bath gel it is definitely worth the price!
So I definitely recommend "Heiress" if you are looking for a pretty, feminine scent for spring/summer. Other perfumes I recommend in a similar scent range are:
JLo's "Glow" (has more of a tropical feel)
Britney Spear's "Fantasy" (more of a evening, out clubbing in South Beach scent)!

Having looked like I was spit out from a tornado (after frying my hair with a bad, bad perm) I found myself walking into Bearj Antonio Salon with a look that would make the Wicked Witch of the West look like a Ms. USA contestant, this plus a severely depressed state of mind.
Being a business professional in the area of sales and marketing, there is nothing worse than a frizzy, over processed head of hair, especially when it comes to making a first impression with a potential client. No power suit or pretty manicure can distract from a really, really bad hairdo! In my case, a look of a scarecrow: a dried, frizzy mess.
Bearj Antonio is a patient man and very educated when it comes to hair. He likes bringing out the beauty in his clients; this is obvious in the finished results! Upon my arrival, Bearj made me feel much better about my "harried" situation, and instructed me on ways to keep my hair conditioned in its scary state, managing to salvage my hair rather than lop it off into a Susan Powter (Circa 1990) nightmare!
The staff at Bearj Antonio Salon and Spa are friendly and non-pretentious. For a suburban hair salon, this is a welcoming aspect rather uncommon in the industry. The salon aesthetics (bright orange walls) and contemporary work stations create an upscale salon feel, yet the price of a hair cut is reasonable and won't leave you clicking your red, high-heels, wishing you could go back in time: to another salon!
Bearj also markets his own hair product line, Fabulous which lives up to its name. Ever since my first experience with this product, it is all I have used since! Between the fantastic services offered, kind customer care and products, Bearj Antonio Salon and Spa is truly the "Ruby Slipper" of the Northwest Suburbs and my top recommendation for anyone looking for a simple hair cut to an entirely brand new look!
