Put onto Base, flick button Up to turn on; it lights up Blue in seethrough waterline, will see water Boil and it will flick Off and Blue light turn off when ready. Steam escapes from top, careful Hot. Love it! works fantastic! had mine 6 years now, it is used many times a day! -
