is definitely a new favourite. I like that it has 2 grams of fibre and no added sugar, the kids just like that it tastes good! When we're done with the applesauce, we wash out the cups to use for painting and crafts before we throw them in the recycling. #gotitfree Thanks for the snack @FamilyRated and @Motts

I love that the Pacifica palette is cruelty free! I used the blush and bronzer the most, eye shadows next and the highlighters the least. The eye shadow colours are very pigmented so a little goes a long way, but Neptune (yellow-ish) was the wrong shade for my light complexion, and Mermaid Aqua (blue/aqua) is far too dramatic for an everyday colour. The remaining four eye shadow colours are fantastic and blend well, and Sandalwood can double as a eyeliner or eyebrow powder as long as you have an angled brush. All three highlighters had a nice light scent to them, though are so solid that they were really drying. The highlighters can give a bit of shimmer to your lip as long as you use a gloss or balm, but they didn't seem practical for actual highlighting. I really like that this palette can function as everything but foundation and mascara, so I would buy it again even though I don't use all the products included. -

I can typically drink a full 12-cup carafe of coffee by myself before noon, so I switched to Kicking Horse Half Ass to reduce my caffeine intake. It is a dark roast, but usually takes a lot of grounds to make it taste strong enough for me, which can make for a pretty expensive drink. Even buying the 1lb bag of whole beans for around $12 on sale can really start to add up, as that only lasts around 4 days for me; definitely less than buying a coffee everyday, but still adds up to nearly $100 a month. Kicking Horse is great for a weekend or holiday coffee, but too expensive for an everyday brew. -

Method Clementine dish soap is my favourite, by far! I love the scent, that it does a great job cleaning dishes and that is isn't too harsh to use as hand soap occasionally. I do find that the pump dispenser sometimes malfunctions and needs to be replaced, but both the dispenser and refill bags are recyclable, so that eases my conscience a bit. If you have a hard time finding this scent locally, you can even have the two-pack of refills delivered to your house from Amazon. -

Seek-a-boo is a pretty simple memory game aimed at children 18+ months old. There are large circular cards picture cards that you lay out on the floor or table (they're quite large), then you draw a small square picture card to tell you what to look for. The cards are all colour coordinated into different categories, and the game can be modified in difficulty by how many categories you choose to play at a time or by having the pictures face up or down. Even with the lamination, the cards are really just card stock thickness and can be easily bent/creased by an enthusiastic child, and depending on where you buy it, the game can be expensive for a look and find activity. If you can find it for a good price, I absolutely recommend this game! -

I really wanted the IKEA Busa play tent and tunnel to work for my kids, but there are some definite flaws. The recommended age is 18+ months, which is great unless you have more than one of them playing: the tent tips so easily and can trap a child inside, and even one child playing independently can tip it right over by leaning on a wall. Being that this is intended to encourage motor development, you'd expect the wires that make the frame to be a bit more durable. After only a few months of use, the sides of the tent as well as the circular shape of the tunnel have warped and there's a wire of the tent that is now snapped. If you have children that are old enough to be very careful with this and at the same time still be small enough to fit, then this may be for you, but otherwise it isn't worth the (admittedly inexpensive) cost. -

I have two toddlers, and Kirkland wipes are household staple for me. They don't have quite as much moisture or softness as Pampers, but they are just as effective and significantly cheaper! At least twice a year the price drops to $20 which works out to around a penny per wipe. Kirkland wipes are great for everything from sticky hands and faces, sensitive bottoms and even for getting crayon off the wall! -
