I’m a total skincare addict so I have experimented a LOT with serums. As I’m in my mid twenties now though, I’m paying more attention to anti-aging and preventative products. The L'Oréal Paris Youth Code Serum was a dream considering it’s more affordable than the high end stuff and is great to add to a multi-step routine. It has a light, clean fragrance to it, and didn’t irritate my sensitive, dry, and acne prone skin. The texture is very light so I know it penetrates deeper into my skin. I can use this both AM and PM since it’s not heavy, and I feel hydrated throughout the entire day. The biggest change I noticed way my forehead. It’s normally dull with many fine lines, but they’re seemingly less apparent now after a week of use, and my skin is more radiant overall. I love that the formula has probiotics too, because it’s very important for the good bacteria on your skin to be balanced. Overall recommended given the quality and price point. -

I wouldn't expect COVERGIRL to have such an amazing skincare product, because I've only ever bought their makeup products! I was pleasantly surprised to find the cream lives up to it's description. The texture is so unique, it's thick and I would almost say it's a lumpy gel, but MELTS into the skin after patting it in. No slipping and sliding on top, no heavy film of product left on the surface of the skin. I wouldn't say it leaves you with a moisturized "feeling" for the entire day, but I experienced no dryness, so that means it actually penetrated deep and hydrated my skin. The scent is relatively light, but I would've still preferred it to be more subtle or scentless. Overall, I would definitely recommend it for people needing hydration on a budget, especially if you dislike other creams that feel like they leave heavy residue :) -

Ok I have no clue how my mother came across this brand 2 decades ago and I just know we've had their stuff forever, but let me tell you it's still my holy grail today. Been using their stuff since I was a wee toddler and I'm 24 now. When I was a kid I used their aloe gel for my eczema and dry skin, but let me tell you about this propolis cream because that's more relevant to me now. My current skin is combo leaning towards dry, with active acne, and discoloration from scarring. I get seasonal facial eczema, but I would recommend you let your flares calm down, don't put it on active flares since the bee propolis is meant to agitate in some way (however saying that, totally ok for daily use for regular sensitive skin). Y'all, I'm the most impatient person alive, but this cream kicks my acne in the butt whenever I need to look flawless within a week. Any bumps (I get a lot of keratin plugs/whiteheads) get smoothed out, redness is quelled, scarring discoloration get better, and honestly just makes my skin look clear and radiant when I'm on top of application daily. I normally apply it pretty liberally at night before I sleep, because this stuff is THICK and definitely not for day time use since it'll dry and thicken (unless you use thin layers, but I like to plaster it on). Love, unless you're allergic to bee propolis, I IMPLORE you to try this cuz it's the only thing that is guaranteed to soothe my pimples. It doesn't fix any acne root causes, but it's perfect for getting back control over your face. -

I have tried SO many high price point facial sunscreens (like la roche posay), but they all make my eczema worse tenfold and it BURNS. During summer, my facial eczema tends to weep if it decides to flare up that year, but not putting on sunscreen is not an option because the sun will make it flare up further. This sunscreen has saved my face, I can't recommend it enough. Lightweight and perfect under makeup, affordable (if you buy it in Japan, or get it imported from an affordable site, aim for around $20 CAD), and great for sensitive skin. I actually used this squeeze tube face version for a while, but bought the same big plastic bottle that's actually for body and face use. Texture is a bit different, but does the exact same job and is a few times the volume for the same price. -

I originally got this as a sample, but after using it, I HAD to buy a whole bottle even though it had a higher price point than what I can normally afford. This serum has a gel-like consistency, but it's not heavy and absorbs nicely. I have so many "hydrating" products that either only moisturizes by making a thick and uncomfortable barrier, or takes days to weeks to kick in. This serum can be put on beneath my makeup under primer, and by evening my skin is still hydrated. I get facial eczema during summer and I refuse to put any thick products on because I sweat it off (also worsens the eczema), but this causes no problems. Get it if you have sensitive and either normal or dry skin :) not sure how it'll work with oily skin though -

So I use this product for priming instead of setting (I prefer powder), but let me tell you, there is no other primer in existence that can compare. I've tried essentially every "well rated" primer on the market, but only All Nighter CLINGS. So thin yet grippy underneath base makeup. I have foundations that slip and slide all around, but this spray essentially turns the worst foundations into the best. Godsend, can't recommend it enough. Make sure you all get it on sale though! Jumbo sizes or dual packs on Urban Decay's website are the way to go. -

To give an idea of my skin tone and condition, I'm from Eastern Asian (Chinese) descent, with very light olive toned skin (green undertones). I'm currently 24, and I've suffered from acne since I was 13, and NOTHING else covers my acne scars and discolouration. Dermacol (make sure you buy the authentic stuff) is so easy to apply and very spreadable. It's a heavy formula, but dries quite nicely (almost powdery to the touch?) on my combination skin. I just need a dollop about the size of 1/3 my pinky nail to cover my entire face's spots. It does crease and move if you don't prime and set, but I've noticed it stays put pretty much near 10 hours with proper primer and powder. I use the shade 210 (lighter) during winter, and 207 (buff nude colour) during summer :) -
