I received 2 palettes as part of the product review club, number 10 - mad for mauve and number 80 - pink persuasion.
i tried both the pallets on days i was going to work. the quads provide lots of option, so you can use all the colours or just one. i tried all the clours and the pigments are very nice. some of the lighter pinks/silvers didn't show up really well, but had a nice subtle effect.
the colours don't have much staying power. i didn't apply any eyeshadow primer, but i do apply my foundation over my eye (which would work about the same), however the shadows only lasted until about lunch time.
i think these colours would be great for an evening or night out since they are shimmery/sparkle and you can go all out with the darker colours that come in the palette.

My co-worker and I booked appointments at Heartbreaker Salon to get Minx Nails done! We went on a Friday night and had a great time. The manicurist was really cool and accommodating. She did both our nails because no one else was available that evening (but she gave us the heads up about this). It was awesome because we got to hang out, read magazines and watch a movie (she put True Romance on for us!). I don't know the manicurist name, but she was really helpful. We picked out the minx patterns we wanted and learned a lot about them. They are really easy to apply, they just heat them up, apply and then trim as needed. It hurt a little having the pressure applied so the adhesive would stick but that's about the worst of it. The patterns look really cool - I had a flower print, my friend had metallic and cheetah print. There is NO drying time which is fabulous and they lasted a good 10 days. Mine could have lasted longer, but I pulled them off to paint my nails a different colour. I am definitely going back and next time for a manicure when the weather warms up and I break the sandels out from my closet.

I've never used a colour correcting eyelid primer before, so I was really looking forward to reviewing this product when I received it in a gift bag. I turned over the package to review the ingredients and immediately fell disappointed, I knew I wasn't going to be able to actually try this product which was a huge letdown.
The 6th ingredient in the product is Mineral Oil....I don't DO mineral oil. Mineral Oil is a cheap, cheap filler product that doesn't do anything healthy for your.skin It sits on your skin and doesn't allow it to breath. Basically it suffocates the skin by coating it with a film. Most people have their first concerns with aging around the eye area. The skin is very delicate around that area (think tissue paper delicate) and putting a crappy product around your eyes is just going to "speed" up any aging you see in that area. I would recommend you look at the ingredient listing for the rest of your skin care and makeup products and chuck anything with Mineral Oil!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this colour. When I was in the states last year I picked it up from a drugstore, and I have never received so many compliments on a nail colour. I have 3 sisters and they've all tried to steal this product. It didn't take long before it was down to almost nothing, and I've been trying to perserve it for a while.
I will definitely be picking it up again if I can find it. The Milani website: www.milanicosmetics.com doesn't show this colour. However it shows it available on some of the drugstore websites. The brand is carried at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Winn Dixie, etc., so I have no doubt I can find it again!
It lasts a long time and it's just an interesting colour. I always use it on my toes and it just pops right out. This colour is called 'electric pink' and I am crossing my fingers I can find it again.
It's not available in Canada (as far as I know), but if you're in the US or have a friend who's down there, get them to pick it up for you. It's a great colour, that's exciting and fun. It's TOTALLY worth the $3 and change it comes too!!!!

I've been looking for a mineral powder that I can use to help control shine and give a more matte effect so I picked up this product from the MAC store.
I've been using the 'medium' shade and in the whole 'Silkfinish Natural' range there are 8 different shade options.
This gives light-to-medium coverage depending how you apply it. I usually use a powder brush and just dust it lightly all over after applying by foundation, however I've also used a powder sponge when I've needed a heavier application. It doesn't come with a sponge so keep that in mind if you're looking to use it that way.
So far i really like the product, it does what I wanted it to do. It doesn't have any luminosity factor which sometimes I wish it did, although they have other silkfinish products that have that feature.
The only thing I wish it had was an SPF factor. I'd really like to find a mineral face powder that does so I can reapply throughout the day to protect myself and my skin!

I received this product at an industry event I attended, and it was the first time I've been exposed to the brand. I've never heard of it before, so I've been using the blush and also did some investigating on this product line.
The website for this company is: www.ditzycosmetics.com. The line was started by a former make-up artist and esthetician. You can purchase online and it seems maybe Rexall and PharmaPlus. The store-locater page wasn't working when I was searching.
Anyways, this product came with this cool sponge applicator that you just dab right onto the product and can then apply to your cheeks. It's great because it's obviously washable, and another tool to add to your makeup brushes. I'll definitely use the sponge applicator for other cream-like products. I'm not sure if the blush and sponge come together or if they must be purchased separately.
The blush shade I have is called 'Dreamsicle' and it's a dusty rose like colour. I'm not a huge blush person, I'll go for eyes over blush every day, but I really like this product. It can be applied with an easy-to-use applicator or your fingers, and you can apply just a little or build it up as needed. Since it's a cream to powder formulation it has a bit of staying power, however it doesn't last 8 hours (but does any product really?).
Overall, I think it's a great product and coming in around $14 US (says the website) I would definitely be inclined to purchase it again.

I received this product in a gift bag for an industry event I attended. I've used the product quite a bit and really like it.
The packaging is very creative and fun, as it looks like a glue stick and works the same way. You turn the bottom of the stick to dispense the pinky coloured 'brightening face primer'. It's packaging is a great way to avoid product contamination (which I'm a huge advocate for). I just dial up however much I need based on what I'm using it for, swipe and apply. Very easy to use.
The colour would probably be suitable for just about everyone. The website says you can use it alone, under or over makeup. I typically use it in-place off or with blush. Typically, I'll skip blush and use it to just brighten up my cheek area, and of course it does give a nice hint of colour without being to over powering. However it does work well with blush either under or over it, depending if you want that 'glow' or not.
Since I received this product for free I don't know the exact price, however their website lists it as $28.00, although I'm not sure if that is in US or Canadian dollars.
I would definitely recommend this product to others. I think it's versatile enough and would make those who don't wear much makeup and who do wear makeup very happy. You can use it in so many ways to achieve a nice glowing complexion.

Brown Eyed Girls...pick this product up immediately! The 'electric' blue colour will make your eyes pop. I find this eye pencil goes on really smoothly (a nice gentle glide is all you need) and the colour really stands out. It's not like other eye liners where you really have to work to get the colour to stand out. I use this colour to line the inside of my lower lash line, or just along/below the lower lash line, and I keep my eye lid shadow to something fairly neutral. I always get lots of compliments when I wear it. Blue is a really great colour for making brown eyes stand out. Although this colour may be a bit intense for some, you can use it in a way that doesn't necessarily make it the focus.
The product is like butter, so you don't have to work to get it to look great, and it does have staying power (maybe a little too much staying power). I do find I have to work at it to get it fully off sometimes, so eye makeup remover or an oil-based cleanser like precleanse will help to remove any sign of the liner. One thing I do find with the liner is I have to sharpen it more often then other eye liners.
There is about 19 different colours, all ranging from your standard black, to colours that include sparkle and more. I will definitely be picking up other colours of the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil!

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT.
I have long, dark lashes as it is, so I don't need length, or anything for that matter. But what I want is volume and this product delivers. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for people who want their lashes to look really natural. Although you can use it that way, this is a great product for those who want to pump up the volume and make their lashes really pop.
I've tried other mascaras in between, but I always go back to this one. Other mascaras look to natural on me. It's nice and all, but I really like to draw the focus to my eyes, and this product really works well for that.
I have the 'Carbon Black' and I totally give two thumbs up on this product. It's a great price and quality product -- you definitely can't beat that.
