I am really getting used to the Maybelline New York Dream Blender. I’ve always wanted to try a beauty blender as I heard it creates a better finish than just using your fingers. But the reason I haven’t already tried it, is because the ones from Sephora are so darn expensive. But the Maybelline New York Dream Blender is only $7.99 (CAD), so you don’t have to break the budget to give it a try. It’s worth the try. At first I was concerned that it used up too much product, but after a few days of using it, I got the hang of it. It does create a flawless, smooth finish. I love using it in the creases of my nose, between my brows and along my temples – all those spots that we sometimes overlook when just using our fingers. Plus it’s easy to wash with just a bit of soap and it fits perfectly in my lipstick stand. LOL! I’ll definitely continue using the Maybelline New York Dream Dream Blender. The price is right and it creates a great finish.

The Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation application is pretty easy and it blends well into the skin. As advertised, the initial finish is matte on my skin. But after a few hours of having it on, I noticed a bit of sheen on my face. This is the part that concerns me. I want a “glow,” yes. But I am not sure I need a “sheen.” My skin is oily enough without having an extra shine to it. But like I said, the application is pretty nice. I like the fact that it’s more of a mousse than a liquid so it’s great to use with the blender. I think I will try this product again, but I’m going to try it in a different shade to see if that was the cause of it looking weird on me after wearing it for a couple hours. I tested Natural Beige – but I think this product is worth purchasing so I’ll buy it in Caramel to see if it’s a better fit.

I really enjoyed Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bars - Cranberry with Blackberry. It made a great chewy snack. Not too sweet and not too hard like some of the other granola bars on the market. It's a bit heavy on the sugar, but definitely more healthy than a candy bar or chips.
I'd purchase the product again. I think the kids would enjoy it too. It's easy to throw in their school bag as an easy snack. Plus it doesn't make a mess when you eat it. And the fact that it's chewy, is better for their little teeth.
I would recommend Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bars to a friend. I'd recommend it to anyone, really.

Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bars - Cherry with Pomegranate tastes great! It's not too sweet so it makes the perfect snack to go along with a cup of coffee at the office. It's also great for the kids with a side of fresh fruit as well. I found the cherry and pomegranate flavour to be really enjoyable - especially with the layer of chocolate. Yum!
I typically only buy the hard granola bars with peanut butter. But after trying Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bars, I would lean toward getting this brand in the future. The hard ones make a mess when you eat them with lots of crumbs. But this is easy to eat. I can just have it at my desk and it doesn't make a mess.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend. It's a great snack that's easy to eat at home or on the go.

Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bars are chewy and not hard and dry like other snack bars. I love being able to drop it in my purse on the go.
I would definitely purchase these snack bars again. At $1.99, it's a good value. Especially when you consider that sugary candy bars can cost even more money. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Although I had a very good experience with CND Shellac and the nail salon experience was one of the best ever - my experience with the Offly Fast Removal Kit did not live up to expectations.
I followed the instructions to remove my shellac nail polish at home - but it did not remove the polish entirely. It said it was for removal after "14 day wear." I had my polish on for about 3 weeks so I'm wondering if that's why it didn't come off.
Anyways - I would definitely do the Shellac again for special occasions or vacations - but I'd probably just go back to the salon to have it removed afterwards.

I had a really great experience getting my CND Shellac manicure at Upper Village Spa. The process was about an hour, the colour selection is on point and the finish is beautiful and glossy.
Even after 1 week of going to the gym, washing dishes, doing the laundry, cooking and working all day at the computer - there's absolutely no chipping and it still has its shiny lustre. I really love it! I can't believe how good it still looks!
CND Shellac has a great selection of colours. I love red so I chose Scarlet Letter. It's perfect for my skin colour. The whole process took about 1 hour which included the base coat and colour coat. The manicurist, Cheri, explained how quickly the colour "cures" to the nails and that's why there's no chipping. Drying literally took 2 minutes on each hand. And after a quick wipe down, I was ready to go.
After my Shellac manicure, I actually went right to the gym for a workout. I would never have done that with a regular salon manicure. But with CND Shellac it was not a problem.

I went there to get my first shellac. I've never had one before. I was assigned Cheri and she really took care of me. She let me know a bit more about the process and was very nice in complimenting my hands and nails. I almost fell asleep because it was so relaxing, her massage almost put me in a trance.
I definitely give Upper Village Spa two thumbs up. It's such a little gem on Eglinton Ave West that I never would have discovered had it not been for Chick Advisor. In fact - I can't wait to book my next appointment.

I’ve been wanting to try Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector for quite some time. I was really excited to get my package from Sephora, but to be honest, for all the hype, I wasn’t that impressed.
I typically use M.A.C Prep + Prime Skin as my primer for everyday makeup wear. But beauty bloggers worldwide have been raving about Becca’s primer so of course, I had to get my hands on it to see what all the fuss was about. I decided to get a travel size tube from Sephora which retails for $18.00. A full size bottle is 1.35 oz and costs $44.00.
The texture of this primer is almost like a creamy, Vaseline type of feel. I used it sparingly across my nose and around that area of my face. The pores in this area of my face are huge and can be seen from a distance. Even though the texture of the primer was like Vaseline, it didn’t apply greasy at all. The finish was very smooth and matte indeed. I waited a few minutes and then applied my makeup. By about 10am is when I can really tell if I’m going to have a good face day. The primer was doing an okay job I suppose. But I just couldn’t see the difference between using this primer and my typical M.A.C primer.
In conclusion – I prefer M.A.C Prep + Prime Skin. I like that it comes out as a lightweight foam and I can see it filling in my pores when I apply it to my face. I like that the finish is silky smooth and it makes my face feel so soft that the makeup just glides right on. I also like the fact that Prep + Prime has little light reflectors that make my skin glisten. In fact, I sometimes wear it on non-makeup days just so I still look pulled together.
If you’re looking for a primer, give Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector a try. But if you already have something that’s working for you – just stick to it. Sometimes what we need is already right in front of us.

I’ve been very skeptical of the claims of face oils. But for the past three weeks I’ve been using Bielenda Argan Face Oil. It’s a light oil designed for skin prone to losing moisture, natural elasticity, firmness and tautness. It retains water in the skin which provides the skin with optimum moisture level and protection against loss of elasticity and flexibility.
At night, after applying my acne skin care, I apply about 2 or 3 drops of Bielenda Argan Face Oil. I gently massage the oil into my skin. It absorbs the oil quickly, plus it’s not greasy at all. Unlike vitamin E oil, I can actually go to bed without worrying about getting my sheets and pillows greased up.
The result? So far, so good. The acne scars along my jawline are fading fast. Bielenda Argan Face Oil is light and easy to use on the skin, it’s not greasy and there’s no heavy fragrance. I’ll continue to use it. From time to time, I still dab on a bit of vitamin E oil, but I must admit, I am really getting into using a face oil.
