I had a coupon for this place and was so excited to use it. I'd been dying to go but the price was a bit too high for me. I finally had the chance and was so disappointed! First of all, it took forever to set up an appointment. They never answer the phone and I left 3 messages over the course of a week before I heard back from anyone. Then, when I got there I had to wait about an hour before anyone was ready for me.
I have super curly, long hair and as soon as the stylist (I don't remember her name but she reminded me of a blonde Snookie) took my hair out of the bun she suddenly seemed like she totally regretted drawing my number. She actually tried to pawn me off to a couple of the other stylists, I swear! If I didn't feel an inch tall then, when she huffed and said it was going to take her forever to do my hair and she didn't think there was enough time to do what I was asking for (trim and blow dry) I felt like I had made a mistake in coming and started to feel really bad. Thankfully the manager cut in and said that was what I booked so it had to be done (although she sort of said it apologetically to the stylist rather than to me).
Throughout the cut and style she basically made me feel bad for the products I use and the cut I'd had previously. I understand that stylists give advice but there's a difference between giving hair care advice and telling someone that the choices they made are dumb. And maybe it was the day I went but some of the clientele were pretty snobby. One woman actually went so far as to talk about her distaste in the type of people in there that day and when the manager mentioned she had an online coupon promotion the woman said "I should have guessed".
I got charged extra for having long hair (extra product and time was the excuse), pushed into buying product, had to tip on the full amount (as if I didn't use a coupon), got rushed out while I was trying to inspect my cut, and when I got home I noticed my hair was UNEVEN!!!
Remember how I mentioned they never answer their phone? Even if I could get them to resolve the issue I wouldn't have gone back.

I have very long, very curly hair and have really struggled to find somewhere/someone I really like to do my hair. Most places do the bare minimum and rush me, or argue with me as to what I'm looking for (keeping length is really important to me). For these reasons I usually wait far too long between cuts. It was about that time and I didn't want to go back to any of the places I'd been before. I really only needed a trim so I figured I'd chance trying somewhere new. I walk past Mazz almost every day and thought I'd give it a shot (it was actually between Mazz and another salon in the area but Mazz actually got back to me first. I still haven't heard from the other place) and I'm so glad I did! Everyone was incredibly friendly and warm right away. Jen, who was my stylist, is so sweet and really listened to what I wanted. I have A LOT of hair so of course the appointment went over time, but she didn't rush me and immediately made a note in my file to book extra time if (when) I return. She took her time to finish my hair and make any final touch ups. When i was done i asked about the products she used. She showed them to me and recommended a couple others, but didn't push me to buy anything at all. My hair looks great and I'm so happy with it. The cost of the cut was also pretty reasonable. I've paid way more and been disappointed. If you have curly hair and are tired or paying way too much or not REALLY happy with other Curly salons, definitely go see Jen. You won't be disappointed. -
