Sex, Drugs, And Cocoa Puffs by Klosterman
I am kind of sad that this was only the first book I picked up by Klosterman. I can't wait to read more! He is an awesome, witty writer and this book puts so much about pop culture in a humorous and satirical perspective. Highly recommended!

This book kind of reminded me of 1984. It's a witty, yet heartbreaking, dystopian love story. Shteyngart does a great job at really illustrating the characters and lets the reader really, really get to know them well. I also loved the plot setting (in general) and his witty critique of Generation Y-ers. The ending was kind of a disappointment, but the value in the rest of the book really made up for that. Great read! -

This book is just a classic. And a CANADIAN classic at that.
I read A LOT as a child, and my parents always read to me, and this is a book I will never forget. I am sure the copy I have is close to an original printing - it is very well worn and has been read thousands of times. I recently found my copy in my parents basement and have been using it to read with one of my students. The artwork is incredible (and kind of terrifying) and the poems are just fabulously written. It brings back a lot of memories reading this again after likely 2 decades.

I am on a mission to read more, and this is one I stumbled upon that I don't think I normally would have picked up - I don't usually read fiction, let alone any suspense or mystery.
Not long after picking up this book I was hooked. Burke is an incredible story teller and this book has an ever-evolving plot that always keeps you guessing. I couldn't put it down and didn't want to end. I will definitely read others by this author.

I love the favours of these little dudes, in both the regular and sport drops. I used to be a die-hard Crystal Light fan, and I will still buy the pitcher packs to keep in the fridge at home, but I keep these little MiO's close by at work to help keep me hydrated all day (I mean come on - drinking litres of plain tap water is boring). These don't taste at all like aspartame like Crystal Light since MiO is sweetened with sucralose. Chemically, I know sucralose isn't any better for you than aspartame, but it certainly doesn't taste so bad., and I have yet to find something like this that is sweetened with naturally-sourced stevia, which is generally my go-to sugar replacement. -

I know this isn't a recent work but I have read it for the first time in the past 3 months. I think I am already quite aware of some of the ways in which the fast food industry works. I also like to read up on the things that are in my food, etc. But this book still blew my mind. I haven't eaten fast food in almost 7 years, and I can guarantee you, despite my longing for some McD's french fries, I will likely never, ever purchase from a fast food chain. Not to say that the happenings in this book are still 100% relevant today or relevant to all fast food chains, because many of them are getting with the times and trying to offer sustainable, ethically-sourced foods. Despite all of that, I highly recommend this. What an eye-opener. -
