A couple of weeks ago, I was out camping and ended up slicing my thumb with a pocket knife—one of those annoying cuts that just won’t stop bleeding. I cleaned it up, put some Polysporin on, and slapped on one of these BAND-AID® Pro Heal bandages. I was expecting to have to reapply Band-Aids continually over the course of the weekend, especially considering how much physical activity and outdoors time take place while camping, but these things really hold up well.

Even though I was regularly encountering water—rain, the lake, water bottles, the beach—the waterproof design kept the Band-Aid in place all weekend. I didn’t have to deal with the annoyance of it peeling off or getting grimy, which can often be an even bigger annoyance when you’re not near a sink.

I was equally impressed by how quickly my thumb healed. The hydrocolloid gel pad did its thing, and the cut was practically gone before I even realized it. Plus, no scar! I’ve had bandages that fall off or don’t really help, but these did the job without me even thinking about it much. If you need something that stays put and helps wounds heal faster than traditional bandages, these are a solid choice. Two (healed!) thumbs up.    -
