GOSH Defining Brow Gel
This was not for me. I have black hair and black eyebrows and although I always use brown pencil/powder/gel to fill them in, this shade of brown was clearly not created for the dark-skinned. Way too warm and way too light. It held okay as a gel but... +
This was not for me. I have black hair and black eyebrows and although I always use brown pencil/powder/gel to fill them in, this shade of brown was clearly not created for the dark-skinned. Way too warm and way too light. It held okay as a gel but the colour was too obvious and unnatural for my colouring. -
GOSH Prime 'n Set Powder
I'm not sure how I feel about this product - I think I like the idea better than the reality. As a primer, this didn't do the job on my super-oily skin unless I used it over another primer. As a setting powder it's good - I love how sheer the powder... +
I'm not sure how I feel about this product - I think I like the idea better than the reality. As a primer, this didn't do the job on my super-oily skin unless I used it over another primer. As a setting powder it's good - I love how sheer the powder is and that it doesn't make my dark skin look ashy - but I still need to touch up during the day or else my face is a greaseball mess. But again my skin is super oily and I've yet to find a powder that can stand up to it for a whole work day. Of all the GOSH products I tried, this was definitely my favourite and I will keep using it. -
GOSH Crazy Volume Mascara
This mascara didn't do much in the way of volumizing for me, but I still really liked it because it was super lengthening. Although my lashes are dark, they're pretty fine and not particularly long. And since I wear glasses they basically disappear... +
This mascara didn't do much in the way of volumizing for me, but I still really liked it because it was super lengthening. Although my lashes are dark, they're pretty fine and not particularly long. And since I wear glasses they basically disappear if I don't wear mascara. This one definitely does the job of giving them a little extra boost while still being natural-looking. -

So the intense pink of this colour in the bottle scared me a little bit, and even more so when I first put it on. It's a pretty colour, but much brighter than what I'm used to and I kinda felt like a clown. But once I blotted and sheered it out with a bit of Aquaphor, I really liked it. Felt good on the lips and good staying power. If I was the kind of person to buy lip gloss, I would totally buy this. -
OxiClean 4X Concentrated Extreme Power Crystals

We have a really old dishwasher that often leaves dubious-looking pools of water in our dishes after a cycle, so I had my doubts as to whether I would be dazzled by this detergent but colour me convinced! I swear there's less of the scummy water left behind, and the dishes look and feel cleaner than any other detergent we've used. Score another one for Oxi-clean (I love their washing crystals). My only wish is that it was a liquid rather than a powder because I always make a mess when I pour powder into the dispenser, but other than that this is a winner! -

I liked this toothbrush, but I'm not sure there's anything special to say about it. I've been using soft-bristled Oral B toothbrushes for a long time because I feel like they do a good job of cleaning my teeth without being too rough; I just can't say that this one is any better or worse than any of the others I've used. But using it in combination with the toothpaste and the mouthwash definitely gave me an all-day-clean feeling I've never had before.

I am not a mouthwash girl. I don't know why really, but I've just never been one to use mouthwash consistently. But since I was curious about the effect of the three products together, I was committed to use it. Overall I liked it, but I did find the mint flavour a bit strong and had to fight the urge to rinse my mouth out after using it. But using it in combination with the toothpaste and the brush, I definitely noticed a difference in the way my teeth looked and felt. I probably still won't be a mouthwash girl after this, but if I do use it, this will be the one.

When I first looked at this toothpaste on my brush, I was a bit worried. The consistency was gel-like and I prefer my toothpaste more pasty. And it had a strong mint smell that I thought might be too much. But I was pleasantly surprised when I used it. No mouth burn, and it left my teeth feeling very clean. I also found that my teeth felt cleaner throughout the day; even after eating, drinking, and smoking. I'm a new fan of this toothpaste.

Dove White Beauty Bar

I got this through the Product Review Club. Not sure how I feel about it.
On the plus side, I love the smell of this soap. To me it's the epitome of clean-smelling and if Dove ever makes this in perfume format I'll be all over it. I like that when I use this on my body I don't get that weird soap sticky-ness that you get from other bar soaps. (I know it's not a soap, but you know what I mean).
The downside though is that it's a bit too drying for use on my face; which I wasn't expecting. I always think of Dove as being pure and gentle so I was suprised to get that tightface feeling after washing my face with it. It also doesn't lather that well which annoys me. I know that lather doesn't mean anything; but I still prefer it.
I'll finish the two bars that I received. And I'll probably buy it again just because I love the nice clean smell (especially in the summer). But this will never be my go-to cleansing product.

As a smoker and a coffee addict, I jumped at the chance to try these. My birthday is coming up in a few days and what's better than having extra-white teeth on your birthday right?
These strips were incredibly easy to use; they peeled right off the backing and stuck to my teeth no problem. I was able to continue with life as normal while I had them on - no excessive drooling. So far, so good.
About 40 minutes in though, I started to get antsy. I wanted to eat, I wanted to drink, I wanted to smoke! I was tempted to rip them off my teeth right then and there but I forced myself to press on. But two hours felt like two days to me and I tapped out somewhere around an hour and twenty minutes...I couldn't take anymore.
i did get a blast of nasty peroxide taste when I removed the strips; but I wasn't particularly gentle or careful about it so that wasn't my fault. But I'm pleased with the results. My teeth are a bit whiter - not a dramatic difference, but it's visible - and they feel smooth and clean. No white spots and no irritation or sensitivity at all.
I will definitely use these again and I just recommended to a friend that he try them out too. Thanks Chick Advisor!
