In the winter, whenever I put on makeup (powder or cream), it ends up looking flaky (on my nose and forehead). I usually have to put a put of oil on my skin first to smooth it down, I haven't found a cream to help yet. When I used the primer (without the oil), voila, no flaky skin! That alone makes it worth it for me. My makeup went on smoothly afterwards.

I find most eye makeup removers either sting my eyes or are too oily. Burt's Bees makeup removal pads are neither. They were very gentle, not oily, but they did the job.
