Mineral makeup is something I’ve always wanted to experiment with, and when I got colour matched at Sephora last month, I figured it was a good time to pick one up. So far, I absolutely love this Bare Minerals one. For starters, it’s extremely easy and quick to apply. I can cut down my makeup routine by 5-10min just by using this instead of BB cream/foundation. The coverage is also much better than I expected. I can usually get away with just wearing this alone on a good day. If I feel like I need more coverage, I’ll just put a little bit of concealer underneath. My biggest concern was mineral makeup looking too cakey, but I find I never have this problem if I apply it right (I use a kabuki brush). Definitely recommend Bare Minerals if you’re looking to try mineral makeup! -

I’ve had a few of these hand creams from L’Occitane before, but this cherry blossom scent is to die for. It smells floral without being too overpowering (like some of their scents can be). I’ve been carrying this one around in my purse since I bought it, and have gotten a bunch of comments on how good it smells from coworkers. The smaller size is really convenient and it keeps my hands moisturized, especially in the winter. -

I swear by my Naked palette, and have been using it for so many years now, but lately I’ve felt like I need a smaller neutral palette for travel. Although the Naked palette isn’t huge, I feel like it still takes up more space than needed in my makeup bag. So, I grabbed the Naked2 Basics, and it’s been a favourite ever since. You have all the shades you need for a neutral eye, and I find the colours work great with my skin tone. Like all of the Naked palettes, the pigmentation is amazing and I love how soft the shadows feel. -

Facial sunscreen is one of my must haves for summer. Since my skin is so oily, I can’t stand the ones that are too heavy and thick, which is why this Neutrogena one is my go to. I’ve been using it for a few years now, and still haven’t been able to find another facial sunscreen that compares. The consistency is very waterlike, so it applies extremely easily to the skin, and doesn’t feel greasy. It also is SPF 60, which provides more than enough protection for the day. -

There are mixed reviews about this primer online, but personally I really like it. It feels weightless on my skin, and does a good job of giving my face that poreless look, even in my forehead area. I like that it is a little bit tinted (as opposed to a clear primer) because I feel like it helps to cover up my redness a bit too. -

This eyeliner has been my go-to for years. It's highly pigmented, has a very fine brush tip and doesn’t tug at the eyes. I have yet to find a liner as long lasting as this one, and it doesn’t smudge or flake off even through my sometimes 10+ hour work days. It also dries quickly, which is a must for my monolid eyes. If you're looking for a very black, waterproof eyeliner trt this one. -

I started using this dry shampoo back when it was the older mousse version, and have not stopped using it since. For one, I'm obsessed with the scent. It leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean. I use it in the morning add volume to my bangs, but it also does a great job at removing oil from my roots. Like the majority of dry shampoos, it does tend to leave a white cast on dark hair, but that’s easily fixed by massaging it into your scalp. I've also started applying it right before I go to sleep, so I wake up in the morning with fresh looking hair. -

I’ve tried a bunch of these acne spot treatments in the past, and Clinique’s Clinical Clearing Gel has been my long standing favourite. I was curious to see if the Vichy one could beat it, but sadly it didn’t. I really didn’t have anything against the formulation or design of the product itself, although it does burn quite a bit on the skin when you apply it, but that’s to be expected. My main thing is that I didn’t see any results from it. Using my Clinique gel can clear up a spot in a day, whereas I’d apply this for a week and the spot would still be there. Not too impressed. -

The name of this product is a little misleading, but it’s actually a toner, not a lotion. This product was definitely my favourite out of the three I received. It’s very lightweight and left my skin feeling clean and refreshed. Similar to the cleanser, it does a great job of removing excess oil and leaves my face matte. The scent is also much lighter, and quite pleasant. I also like that it doesn’t contain any alcohol. -

I haven’t tried many gel cleansers that I like, but I was a fan of this one. It’s extremely gentle, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped or tight after use. I also find it does a great job of removing excess oil from my skin, leaving it perfectly prepped for makeup in the mornings. I do like the packaging as well, and the pump especially. One thing that bothers me a little though is the scent. I believe it’s supposed to be an apple scent, but it just smells chemical-y to me. It’s not a huge deal because the scent fades a little once you apply it, but the smell when you first pump it out of the bottle is extremely unpleasant. -
