I got my period just after I received the 'heavy flow' level as part of the Product Review Club, so I put the pads right to the test. I must say these pads are really great!
basic shape: the pads widen towards the back, which makes so much more sense. It also has bigger wings for more protection. This shape allows for comfortable over-night use. No leak.
absorption: The pads are quite thin which made me question how much it would be able to absorb, but you will be truly surprised at how much it can take. There are these 'microdots' which really absorb and seems to send the fluid to the bottom of the pads. This keeps everything away from your body, which results in a really clean feel.
I usually like how Always pads absorb compared to other brands, but the thin 'plastic-like' top layer from their previous products really made it uncomfortable for me especially towards the end of the period. But this pad has a very soft layer that doesn't irritate my skin.
Yesterday, I ran out of tampons so I had to go to my soccer game with these on. Let me say that they performed better than I did for my team!

After receiving the Pulse Perfection from Maybelline for the Product Review Club, I was excited at the possibility of finding something similar to the Lancome Oscilliation but with better pricing. The Oscilliation is great, but I don't believe it is worth the extra money to get the vibration going.
I did two tests -
1) Oscilliation on one eyelash vs. Pulse on the other
The problem I find with the Pulse Perfection is that it doesn't volumize nor shape the eyelash enough. My eyelashes were much fuller and longer with the Oscilliation, whereas the Pulse provided a clean and nice separation but didn't add any shape nor length to the lashes. I wouldn't be reaching for the pulse if I am going out at night, as I tend to want a more dramatic & defined lashes.
2) Pulse with vibration on one eyelash vs. Pulse without vibration on the other.
There was absolutely no difference. I actually managed to get more volume out of the wand when I turned off the vibration. The brush itself is a nice shape that provides a great separation for my lashes. I've actually been using the product now in the morning to get a clean work look. (with the vibration turned off!!)

If you want separation and a natural look, this is the right mascara for you. I was really impressed with the separation that the mascara provided - absolutely clean!!! This is the first mascara that I didn't need a lash comb afterwards. However, the Stiletto doesn't create the added length that other products provide. But because of its clean application, you can coat your lashes multiple times for extra volume without looking like a drag queen. Great for daytime clean natural look, a little weak for a night time dramatic look. -

I have purchased a Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio in "smashbox.com". This trio includes a shimmering neutral beige/soft champagne/rich chocolate. I usually get bored of eyeshadows that I never find myself buying the same shade again. But this palette is so versatile that I just bought my second one again. It has a smooth and light texture and distributes evenly.
The colors look great on skin, whether you use all three at once or wear only one color. I use it for natural make up (lightly using the neutral beige & soft champagne) to a more fun night out (for smokey makeup with dark brown pencil liners). The pigments are pretty concentrated, so you don't need to apply a lot. I am so impressed with the coordination of the colors that I am looking forward to trying other palettes.

I refused to walk into the lululemon for the longest time, just because I was so sick of seeing these everywhere worn by everybody on the street. But a friend of mine has gotten me a gift certificate and I had to go look for something. I still found everything to be really expensive, but I must admit that I am glad that I got a chance to try it on.
It is so well fitting, comfortable and cozy. The sleeves are longer for added warmth and the chin part is higher than usual. The best part of this fleece is that it's preshunk, so you will never have to worry about it shrinking or getting loose. I have washed it few times already, and it still looks good as new.

I got manicures before at other high-end places and the service here was just as good with large selection of colours from OPI. One thing they can't beat is the price. 15$ for a manicure, and 17$ for a french manicure..!
I went on a really cold day (-17) and the place was still packed, so make sure you make an appointment before you go.

I never quite enjoy winterlicious dinners. Althought the prices are great, I usually have found the food disappointing at these occasions. HOWEVER, Greg Couillard's Spice Room & Chutney Bar has flipped my winterlicious experience..!!
First, the atmosphere was lovely - small, intimate, chic, exotic space - with mature crowd. As you can tell from the name of the restaurant, the food is a fusion of spices and aromas from asia, indonesia, india, africa, middle east, and the caribbean.
I went there for a friend's birthday, and I must say I have fallen in love with his food starting from the appetizer to their dessert. I had 9 friends with me who all have quite a different taste buds and who were all in love with the food. It is indeed a fabulous winterlicious experience when a restaurant makes you want to return and taste their whole menu.

As the name of the place suggests, "Le Bar à Soupe" is a little cozy place that serves SOUP, which is located on Ossington avenue between Dundas and Queen. The owner/chef Nathalie Barin offers three soups a day, one with meat, one with dairy and one vegan which are available in three sizes - $3.45 small, $4.60 medieum, $5.35 large. The service is great..!! The soups come with bread and butter. They also offer sandwiches and salad menu to go along with the soup.
I have gone back couple of time before writing this review. I first had tried the "onion soup with croutons & cheese" which didnt really meet my expectations, however I have enjoyed all other choices such as Boston clam chowder, mushroom soup, pears simmered in Beaujolais. There are, after all, 21 soups to choose from each week. I love how they switch the menu accordingly every month. I heard they serve cold soup in the summer which I can't wait to try. However, this place is just what I need during these Toronto's freezing winter days.

The best way I can describe the restaurant is that it feels like the Italian mama is cooking for her children while your cousins are serving you. It is home cooking at its best, not pretentious, nor elaborate, but simple, warm, and hearty. The food is good, the mood is fun, but it can get loud later at night as they blast the music.
It is a mixed crowd ranging from couples to groups of friends, from young to mature. I would actually recommend that you go with a group of friends for your first time. They have a set menu for $27 per person for groups of 5 or more, which includes assorted selection of anti pasti and primi to be shared family style, with your choice of secondi. This will allow you to taste most of the things on their menu. I had the 'lamb shank' as my secondi which I looooved.
For those who have seen the movie 'My Best Friend's Wedding', the perfect description that pops into my head is the battle of the creme bulee and Jell-O. Sometimes you just crave for the simpler things that will give you more comfort.

I am a huge lip gloss user. Personal favorites have been Lancome Juicy tubes and Stila Lip Glaze, but I must say I think I have found a new favorite. IT has a very mild and subtle flavor and feels amazing on the lips. Many lip gloss products use sponge tips at the end while Stila provides a proper brush which gives you a more precise application. When I first put it on, I immediately felt the difference in the texture; not as sticky or runny. It doesn't leave that plastic taste you usually get with other lip glosses.
I find that IT gloss is a bit more buildable with color compared to Lip Glaze which is more sheer. The color I own is called 'smashing', pink natural color, sheer in comparison to other available colors. Stila is pricier in general, however the best part of this product is that it lasts longer. Stila states that "it practically melts on your mouth." Not only do they melt on your mouth, they actually stay on your mouth too. (remember if you want something to stay on for the whole day- grap your lipstick not a lipgloss)
