The lightest colours may settle into lip lines, but the medium/darker ones are awesome. There's some really fun shades like Addis Ababa- an awesome bright fuchsia, and others like Morocco- an orange-y colour, plus darker, moodier Lorde-like shades. I love Istanbul for a great MLBB shade- it's neutral and slightly lighter and pinker than my natural lips. I'm dying to get Antwerp, which is such a unique colour I can't even describe it. Seriously, look up the swatches of this and then head to Target, LD, Rexall, wherever and pick up one..you won't regret it.

These really are as good as the hype..

I love this. Obviously it's not actually smart shades but rather neutral shades with colour beads that burst as you blend them.. As it is, this is more of a BB Cream/Tinted Moisturizer type product. It has sufficient SPF to provide UVB/UVA protection and offers light coverage that doesn't settle into my pores. I use concealer or a higher coverage foundation where I need it, but for daily makeup this base definitely works for me..especially when I can get it on sale. -

All limited edition palettes are the same quality as their singles, which is different than lots of other brands who often stick in lower quality versions in limited edition sets (I'm looking at you...Stila)
That said, if you can get a Holiday Blockbuster with a palette, or a GWP, give these a try. I know EL doesn't get a lot of love in the North American beauty world as lots of people see it as old lady makeup, but the quality is outstanding and the blend ability as well as the colour range is outstanding.
(Note that Estee Lauder owns MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, etc so maybe the great formulation is from t hem all using their great ideas...)

If Essence's gel eyeliner in Midnight in Paris (black) was no longer available I might have to reconsider the maybelline version..but as it is, Essence's lasts longer, has a truer black, doesn't smudge and is cheaper than the Maybelline one, so there's really no reason for me to re-puchase this.
This smudges like crazy on me and irritates my sensitive eyes.

I primarily use it to line my lower waterline because it instantly makes me look more refreshed and awake.I don't typically use dark eyeliner in my lower waterline anymore because when it smudges it looks terrible, especially over contacts. This doesn't seem to budge too much so wear time is above average in the waterline. It definitely doesn't look as creepy as a white eyeliner would look but still has the same bright-eyed effect.
I can also take a dab of this on my finger or onto a brush and do a quick once over of any post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation (i.e. old acne) marks and it's an easy cover-up. I mean, the coverage is not as good as a liquid cover-up with powder but for a quick refresh, it definitely works. (Note-I wouldn't recommend putting it directly on any blemishes and then into your eye because of the bacteria transfer.)Also, it's not creamy enough for under-eye concealing but more for a quick dab on a red dot..
I can also use this to line around the outside edges of my lips if my lipstick is being particularly jerk-y that day, but I prefer to do this with an invisible liner if I have one on me.
All in all a great on the go product available in a bunch of nude colours. This is less creamy than other nude pencil products (i.e. Rimmels Scandal-eyes in Nude which is also great for lower waterline) but because of that it actually works better for multiple uses.

Okay for the price, you absolutely can't beat it. If I changed the package and did a blind test, I bet most people would choose this one over MAC, E.L.F., maybelline or any other gel eyeliner version. Too bad it's now limited to the black version... +

Too bad it's now limited to the black version at SDM- but that's the only draw back.
As far as application, an angled or flat eyeliner brush is best...and make sure to swipe off the extra so you're not just blobbing it on there. I can use this to tight line and it will last for a few days after I've used it, even after proper skin cleansing. (I.E. perfect for those morning afters... ;) I don't use a black, gel eyeliner everyday because it can look a bit heavy but I have super sensitive eyes and wear contact lenses, and this hasn't been a problem with budging or tearing me up or anything..
I've been storing this upside down as many recommend for products like this and I haven't had any problems with it drying out even after using it for a few months.
Overall- go try it...the worst case scenario is you don't like it and you can return it to SDM for your ~$5.

Great drier formula for a mascara. It's good for a more natural mascara day. Once it got a bit old (3 months?) it was so flakey that with every swipe, little flakes were coming off- so don't expect it to last that long after being opened. There was minimal flakiness and hardly any noticeable smudges, given that this is a non-waterproof mascara. Overall, a good, everyday, easy to use formula. -
