I’ve been using the L'Oreal Ever Pure Sulfate-Free shampoo and conditioner for the past week. It’s a cream based shampoo so I found it left my hair feeling a bit heavy at times, but still clean and it didn’t appear greasy. My hair was left shinny and had minimal flyaways. Both the shampoo and conditioner had a mild scent and wasn’t overly girly – for the guys who might be using this product as well. Overall, decent product but not one that I’d continually use if it wasn’t on sale. -

My fiancée and I went to the Le Scandinave Spa in Collingwood/Blue Mountain and had an excellent time. All of the baths are outside and are a mix between hot and cold. The hot baths are around 100 degrees and the cold plunges are a brisk 67 degrees. They also have dry saunas and eucalyptus steam room, which are both amazing. To my knowledge, they’re open 12 months of the year, but I personally think visiting in the spring or fall would be best. It’s a very quiet environment where people are not talking or socializing. There are also a few small rooms you can relax in – I’m guessing this would be more used on rainy or winter days. The landscaping is beautiful and very rustic.
They also have a small café on site where you can buy soup, sandwiches, snacks etc. Prices were expensive, but it’s a nice treat after relaxing in the baths. When you arrive they give you 2 towels and a locker key. But I’d recommend bringing flip-flops and your own robe. They also offer massages, but I don’t think they have a full-service spa on site.
Overall, it was a very unique experience. I’ve never been to a spa like that and would definitely recommend it to my friends. It would make for a good girls weekend or couples retreat.

I recently went to Pizzeria Libretto for dinner with friends. I’d heard a lot about this restaurant because it’s been featured in a local of magazines (Toronto Life, Now etc.). The quality of the food is outstanding – everything is fresh and local. All of the pizzas are Neapolitan style and simply amazing. The sauce was so good and tasted incredibly fresh. I also had a dessert (blueberry panna cotta) that was very creamy and flavorful. My friends recommend that we arrived early and I’m glad we did because there was a big line up in no time. They have a medium sized sit-down area along with a small take-out counter. The service was top-notch and everyone in the restaurant was very friendly. The pizza oven was a special order from Italy, so it’s the real deal when dining here. I’m glad to see some more authentic pizzeria’s coming to Toronto. Two thumbs up for Pizzeria Libretto! -

Thanks to the Product Review club for the new sample. I’ve been a faithful Dove user for years so was excited to test out their latest product. The body wash had a nice smell – not too strong or chemically. It left my skin smooth and I felt very clean all day. The texture was really smooth and creamy. One thing I noticed was at times it would leave my skin with almost a rubber-ish feeling. Perhaps this happened because it’s a hydrating formula it created a thin layer on top of my skin. I wouldn’t consider this a problem, but just something I observed. I’d recommend using a loofah because it lathers up well and I believe the product is more affective this way. Overall, great product and I can definitely see myself buying it again in the future. -

I’ve been using the Swiffer 360 Duster for over a month now and I’m really impressed. At first I thought it was a little gimmicky, but it really works better than expected. It’s idea for dusting electronics because it completely eliminates the static factor. I wouldn’t recommend using it on things that very overly dusty because the cloth part will fill up quickly. It’s more ideal for maintaining a clean house than a total top to bottom cleaning – unless you don’t mind going through a couple of the cloths attachments. There are a lot of coupons for the Swiffer 360 Duster so look around on the internet before buying one at full price. I’d definitely recommend the Swiffer 360 Duster.
P.S. I don’t have a pet so I don’t know if it’s good at picking up fine hairs.

I’ve been to the downtown Milagro location several times since it first opened in Toronto. I’ve been mainly for lunch, so can’t comment on their full dinner menu but I’ve heard good things. I’ve also heard they have great live bands on certain days of the week.
The atmosphere is very authentic and the food is consistently great. The staff is very good – really knows their stuff and seems genuinely interested in making it a good experience and not just another meal.
One draw back is food doesn’t show up quickly. Which is fine if you have some extra time, but I’ve found it hard getting in and out with a one-hour lunch break. With that said, I never get the impression they’re trying to get me out for the next customer.
They have an amazing chicken burrito and chocolate ice cream. Their prices won’t break the bank and it would be a good date location.
I’d definitely recommend Milagro to my friends.

I’ve been using the Root Awakening shampoo and conditioner for the past week and love it. First of all – it smells amazing and leaves you with that clean feeling. I found that my hair was very smooth and shiny after using it….and really easy to style! I like that it's a light shampoo/conditioner and doesn't make my hair too oily or dry. For drug store shampoo it’s more expensive, but is on sale half of the time I’ve been noticing. I’d definitely recommend this product to my friends. -

I’ve never used Always pads before so was interested to try these ones. I was pleasantly surprised by their thinness and flexibility. It didn’t feel uncomfortable and at times I almost forgot it was there. Probably the best thing about them was they are very breathable and light. One drawback is the price – I thought they were more than other name brands. Overall, I’d recommend this product to any of friends without hesitation. -

I read the Undomestic Goddess when it came out a couple of summers ago. It’s a great light summer read that isn’t overly serious. I didn’t find it as good as Sophie Kinsella’s other books, but still worth reading. It was rather predictable, but really funny at parts, which would keep me reading. Yes, I’d recommend this book to other female readers. -

I received a free sample of DiorShow Mascara and it’s been great! I loved it so much I bought the full sized tube. It’s expensive so I don’t see myself getting it every time, but it’s a nice treat. The quality is ten times better than average mascara; therefore it’s a good value in comparison to other drug store brands. My lashes were left very soft and looked much longer than normal. I’ve used lengthening mascara in the past and never really thought it did much – but this one is completely different! One of the things I like the best is how easy it washed off. With very little water/face wash it’s right off with no residue around my eye. All and all, it’s a great product and very easy to apply. -
