I received a foil pack sample of the REN 1 Minute Facial as part of my Sephora order recently. While I was intrigued by its added Vitamin C that is supposed to instantly brighten skin, I found that the facial only really smoothed my face rather than brightening or toning. A full size product is currently at Sephora for $58 and I don't understand the high price point considering my results. However, I could see how using it regularly might provide better results.
The 1 Minute Facial has been very well reviewed elsewhere and even won product of the year in 2014. I can only assume this is because after repeated uses the results are more evident. REN is a luxury brand and the flash rinse facial is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, if any chicks are looking for products without those ingredients.
Although I didn't find it useful perhaps those with other skintypes will. I have combination oily skin, large pores, with redness as a concern.

I received foil packet samples of the microscrub, shampoo and conditioner directly from L'Oreal. As I've said in the reviews of the other two products, I found the Indian lilac smell far too strong. The conditioner was nice and creamy, but that's where the positives end. My hair felt harder to brush after using all three of the products, so I can't rate them any higher than average. I like that they are sulfate free and trying to contribute to more natural beauty products but I can't say that I recommend them. -

I received foil packs of the shampoo, conditioner and scrub directly from L'Oreal. Unfortunately I am not a fan of this scrub just as I am not a fan of the shampoo and conditioner. The Indian Lilac smell is extremely strong and this scrub was too harsh on my scalp and I don't believe it was very effective at clearing the buildup. It actually burned while I was gently rubbing it in. I think this is due to the microbeads or the grit that is supposed to exfoliate in combination with the strong spice. I wouldn't recommend this personally but based on other Chick's reviews it seems like this is a case of different strokes for different folks. I was glad to see a more natural product on the market but again, I didn't see any benefit. -

I received a foil packet of the scalp treatment, shampoo and conditioner for Ever Fresh and I can't recommend it. I didn't realize Indian Lilac smelled like spice. I went around today smelling heavily of Old Spice from just one wash and it was making me feel a little sick! I was intrigued with its more natural ingredients but I didn't feel a positive difference on my hair, in fact it was more difficult to brush through after. Not a fan of it but maybe the smell is not so strong for other people you're around. The price point is also quite high for a product that isn't any different from most shampoos in effectiveness. -

I was delighted to receive this in my ChickAdvisor Premium bag because I never really know what to do with my brows. I have blonde hair but my eyebrows have always been a bit darker. Unfortunately this pencil did not suit my eyebrow colour at all. I tried following the directions to apply light pressure and small strokes but it just didn't work out for me. However! I have decided to recommend it as "you betcha" and rate it highly in value and quality because you're getting four tools in one product which is great. I found the invisible taming wax to work really well and I liked the shape of my brow after using it in combination with the eyebrow brush that fits conveniently as a cap for either end of the pencil. Similarly, I was glad to see it had a sharpener/cleaner product that could also be used as a cap and to keep the product looking great.
I would not purchase this again myself but will recommend it to friends as I'm sure the colour of the product would suit their brows much better than mine. Thanks to ChickAdvisor and Know Cosmetics for including it in the Premium bag as it was great to try it out.

I rely on Maxidol because I experience a great deal of pain both migraine and cramp related. It usually works quite quickly to relieve me of both, but sometimes the pain persists. Regular midol only works seldomly for me, so I always turn to Maxidol.
I like that it only includes Naproxen and not other pain relievers as well, as combining them makes me worry about the effect on my liver.

I received a bottle of Le Petit Marseillais White Peach & Nectarine Extra Gentle Shower Gel free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club #gotitfree
When I first opened the box to see my free bottle of White Peach & Nectarine shower gel the smell was fantastic! However, when I started using it the scent was very strong and artificial smelling. Unlike the orange blossom scented gel, this product is not creamy but more like a typical clear shower gel. I preferred the creamy and moisturizing properties of the orange blossom Le Petit Marseillais, having used both of them. All of their products are reasonably priced and available at drugstores which is why I can give a 4/5 score for value. The quality is also very good - the gel lathers nicely and I feel very clean after using it. However, I had to mark down the effectiveness to just 3/5 because it is not as creamy as the orange blossom, and not as moisturizing as a result. However, I would still recommend it to friends and family because everyone prefers different scents and things in a shower gel. For me it wouldn't be my first choice but I'm still very grateful for having had the opportunity to test it. I don't think I will purchase this particular variety again but will try to find the other scents available from Le Petit Marseillais.

I received a bottle of Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club #gotitfree
I've been using the lotion consistently for two weeks and can already feel a slight improvement in the elasticity and firmness of my skin. As with the other products in the Q10 line, the scent is amazing but I'm sure would be a bit strong for people with skin sensitivities. The consistency of the cream felt a bit heavier and greasier than I was expecting as on the bottle it notes it is a lighter cream. However, it absorbs well into the skin after a bit of waiting and felt especially great when applying on freshly shaved legs. I can't attest to its anti-aging abilities but can confirm that it is a good moisturizer. I would recommend to friends and will probably buy a bottle once this (rather large!) bottle runs out.

Cheerios has recently brought out a limited edition Maple flavour in honour of Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation. I saw it on sale at Loblaws the other day and have just recently ordered a coupon to redeem a completely free box from save.ca. The texture of the cheerios themselves are a little bit different - a little soggier than regular cheerios but not too much so. The maple taste comes through very well but not overbearingly so. The nutritional information for these is almost identical to plain cheerios, but for obvious reasons the sugar is higher. I will recommend this to friends and am definitely going to purchase it again with my free coupon! -

I received the Nivea Q10 Anti-Age Hand Cream for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club #gotitfree
This hand cream has the same great scent as the body oil, and everything about it is just dreamy and creamy. I am starting to use more anti-aging products despite being under 30, as I want to try to halt the appearance of wrinkles and lines. I don't currently have any wrinkles on my hands, so I cannot attest to the hand cream's ability to smooth them or reduce their appearance. However, it was extremely effective at hydrating my (still dry from the brutal winter!) hands. I liked the consistency of the cream as well as it was not too thin or too thick. It was absorbed by my hands quickly and the effects did not take very long to see. I've been using it consistently for almost two weeks and will likely purchase another tube when I run out. I will recommend to friends and family and am interested to see the cream's ability to treat aging hands. The only reason I can only give 4s in each category is because I cannot effectively test its anti-aging properties.
