I received the Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation in honey beige and the Maybelline New York Dream Blender from the Chickadvisor Product Review Club. I must say, I was a little skeptical about this foundation at first. I’ve never been blown away by a Maybelline product so I didn’t know what to expect. After using this foundation for one week I am pretty confident that I would purchase this again. I normally use a beauty blender to apply my foundation so the light, whipped formula of this one made it even smoother to apply. It doesn’t even feel like I am wearing any make up at all. I tend to have a shiny t-zone so halfway through the day I have to blot, but other than it stays nicely on my face. Bonus, the squeeze tube is great (and unbreakable!). Quite impressed! -

This is an excellent product for the cold, Canadian winter. I bought the 500ml bottle which comes in a convenient pump bottle. Once rubbed onto wet skin, the oil turns into a light foam that moisturizes and cleanses. On extra dry days, I follow with the velvet balm and I feel fantastic! This entire almond line smells amazing. -

Having eaten almost everything on the menu, I would like to share my favourites: fun guo, sui mai, pork buns, soup dumplings, pork ribs, jumbo prawns...I could go on and on. There are 6 signature cocktails on the menu right now and that are all to die for and I wish I could order by the bucket. If you go around Christmas time there are some seasonal cocktails that are also amazing. I recommended this place to everyone who likes Asian fusion and a little dim sum. Bonus: they play the best music! -

I use one pump for my whole face and it keeps me matte for almost an entire summer day. I wouldn’t recommend it for those with dry skin. Nice and compact so it's great for traveling. L’Occitane has yet to disappoint! Bonus: packaged in a pump bottle rather than a jar. -

I have been using this cream paired with the Idealia Life Serum at night for the last 2 weeks. I really like the gel texture and how light this cream is. I am not too fond of the jar packaging and would prefer a pump or a tube but it isn't a deal breaker. The smell is pleasant but a little stronger than what I would like for a face cream. I feel very moisturized and I think I look refreshed when I wake up in the morning, maybe even slightly plumped. I did notice that the pores on my cheeks are a little larger than they normally are - which is weird because if anything they should be smaller. Fine lines under my eyes are still visible. No breakouts or allergic reactions (yes!). I would recommend this cream to anyone with dry and tired skin. It definitely made me look brighter.

I was surprised to find that this lipstick goes on very smooth, living up to its name, and the colour is really pretty and natural. I will probably purchase this again because it's just so cheap. -

I visited Her Majesty’s Pleasure for a manicure and pedicure on a Friday night around 7pm. The vibe was everything you wanted for a trendy Friday evening. I must say that I loved all of the brands of nail polish not to mention all of the in season colours. We ordered cocktails off the menu but the amazing bartender let us know he could pretty much whip up anything – and he did! The prices were reasonable and the staff were extremely outgoing and friendly. I will be visiting again!

I love this lotion and it is a staple in my collection. It is a light citrus scent which makes it perfect for the summer. Not too overpowering but you still know it's there. I must say that is it kind of strong when you first put it on but then it fades into a nice and gentle fragrance. If you like lemon-y things, you will love this. -

The first couple of times I used this mascara I was not impressed. It got better by the third application. No clumping, good separation, not waterproof (but there is a waterproof option available), paraben free. The downside is the brush. I think they could have done a better brush. Not to say that it’s terrible but it just could be better. I’ve only worn it in the daytime, so have not tried layering it yet. I rate this product as average.
