I have long dark and somewhat thick lashes, but I like them to be even longer, thicker and darker! I like a dramatic look. With that said, I have previously tried Volum Express and I liked it quite a bit as a cheaper mascara. And I really love the Colossal! It is comparable to L'Oreal Volumnious, but with no flakes or clumping whatsoever. It also is easy to put on two coats. Some mascaras get too hard to put on a second coat once the first has dried but not Colossal. The one thing that I did also notice was a smell. I was worried that perhaps that tube was defective but the second tube I bought also had a chemical-y type smell. But it's not enough to turn me off even though I tend to be extremely sensitive to smells. For the price of this mascara it should become an instant classic! -

I was pretty excited about this one, Drew Barrymore's lashes looked awesome, and I really liked the VolumeExact mascara that had a similar brush. But this one is huge. Bigger does not always mean better! This wand is clumsy and hard to wield. I ended up with mascara all over my eye area, and the mascara that made it on to my lashes was really wet and streaky.
The wand and head are bigger, but the bristles are too short especially near the top. I was pretty annoyed, because even if I don't *love* a mascara, I will at least be able to use it as a spare in my purse or desk. This one went right into the trash. :(

I love love love this mascara! But the $25 pricetag does make it a bit of a splurge, especially when I found a very comparable and cheap mascara in Avon's Mark mascara ($7). If money were no object, Bad Gal would be my choice every time. I'm a huge fan of the big thick eyelashes and they both deliver very plush eyelashes! -
