As I got older, the only make up skill I managed to learn besides lipgloss application was eyeliner. And ever since, I've been looking for an eyeliner that stays and provides ease of use. The MAC Powerpoint pencil does both. I have it in Tealo and the colour is fantastic and I will definitely be going back to MAC to buy a black eyeliner when I need it.
I've tried high-end department store brands which I didn't like, I've tried low-end drugstore brands which were effective but MAC has done a good job at marrying function and formula. If you're interested in buying a relatively well-priced eyeliner (and they have different kinds to choose from, liquid, kohl, etc. depending on your comfort zone), MAC is a great brand for it.

I've used Plumping Gloss from Estee Lauder as well (though I think it's no longer available) and I preferred High Gloss. It adds a shot of colour (depending on which shade you use) but I find that it's relatively subtle yet effective. I will say that it is a little pricey (I think the prices have since gone up) but it's worth it if you find a shade you really like.

I like Stila as the brand and I can admit that part of my motivation in buying some of their lipglosses was the mention of them in the Shopaholic series (I believe it was Shopaholic and Sister...). That should probably embarass me but it actually means that I have a special place for Stila in my heart. However, there are two things about this particular product that I am not so fond of: the clickable pen aspect and it is sticky.
The clickable pen means that you have to turn it and wait for product to be pushed up. And you don't want to get impatient and turn it twenty times because then you have tons of product gooing up the brush. The stickiness I can deal with simply because most lipglosses are a little sticky but... If you're using it right before a date or something, it could be awkward. The colours are nice, softly scented, overall, I do like it - it simply depends on where your lipgloss priorities are.

I don't wear a whole lot of make up but lipgloss has been one of my longest-lasting obsessions. As such, I feel like I can speak with some authority on the subject! I found this product better than expected. It moisturized considerably more than I thought it would and it was scented which... Was actually kind of nice - not cloying as some scented lipglosses/balms I've found. It doesn't have an SPF which is unfortunate but I still managed to use the shade Lovely almost everyday - the colour offered a subtle pink shine without being overpowering which made it ideal for work. Overall, considering my expectations, it was a nice surprise. -

I really don't know much about foundations but I bought this as a beginner's tool and it's worked for me. I can tell the difference in my appearance when I put it on but I don't look or feel like I'm wearing an extra layer of dust or dirt. For me, that's perfect. As a basic sort of cover up to even out your tone before you add the blush, etc., it's effective. I'm sure people who know and use make up a lot may have another brand preference that works for them, but as someone who's just starting out with make up, I think it's a great value. -
