I have sensitive skin, that (like most people) gets super dry, flaky and even cracked during the winter months.
I've gone through my fair share of hand creams, but I tend to be very picky with a few product traits:
CONSISTENCY: if a cream is too thick or greasy and takes too long to absorb, I stop using it. What I want is a product that absorbs quickly and lasts (so I can apply it at work and not need to take breaks so I'm not in danger of dropping the phone or skidding off the keyboard).
Hand Chemistry intense youth complex is thick, but inoffensive. I trust that it's working and it doesn't get in my way (not a bad combo)
SCENT: If a scent lingers... or is too floral... or too medicinal, I don't want it around me!
Hand Chemistry has a slightly sweet scent that I can recognize, but doesn't linger (which works well in the scent-free environment I work in).
EFFECTIVENESS: I dispense this product in the palms of my hands, but then immediately switch focus and pay special attention to making sure I thoroughly coat the backs of my hands and any areas that tend to crack.
& I love looking at the backs of my hands immediately after applying this product because I swear it DOES have a bit of an immediate effect!
I have one at home, one at work & I'm tempted to pick up two more (one for my purse and one for the car) so I have one close at hand.
Overkill, sure.
but I like it that much-- hopefully that says it all.

I bought this product right before Christmas (curious to see what sort of impact it would have on the aftermath of many late nights and bad decisions)... and while this product did not smooth out any of the fine lines around my eyes: it de-puffed beautifully!
It isn't something I turn to for fine lines or dark circles, but it definitely masked my usual trademark puffiness the morning after a rough/fun night.
It's now a permanent fixture in my morning "Repair" kit.
(and you can't argue with that price!)
Be warned: keep a steady hand and pay attention when applying... because it STINGS if it gets in your eyes!

BRILLIANT hand cream. It's thick, but absorbs quickly and completely. (One of my previous favorites I used to leave on for 10 min and then wash off-- but NOT with Aveda hand relief!) It is expensive, but worth trying. Wander into an Aveda store... +

It is expensive, but worth trying.
Wander into an Aveda store first, give it a try (and if they're walking around offering free samples of their comfort tea... be sure to take that too!)
But you'll be won over fast
Enjoy! :)
(perfect for long, very drying Canadian winters!)

I LOVE this sunscreen!
I have oily, acne prone, super sensitive skin, and I believe that wearing this under my makeup every day has seriously improved the overall quality of my skin.
It's healthier and clear, and I hope it stays like this forever!
As someone who's outside a LOT year-round (I work outside and I'm a runner), I was looking for something that didn't FEEL like sunscreen but that would protect my skin no matter what I put it through.
Shiseido sunscreen works like a charm.
It's pricey, but if you consider it a moisturizer/sunscreen/base hybrid product, it really isn't so bad (and a tube of it lasts for more than 3 months with everyday wear).
It absorbs into my skin quickly and it doesn't feel slick or greasy the way other sunscreens can.
PLUS, it doesn't look all shiney/slick the way that other sunscreen products tend to.
I'll never try another sunscreen,
This has me completely won over!
(Plus, if you don't mind battling the crowds and live in the GTA, there's a bi-annual Shiseido warehouse sale in Markham that's COMPLETELY worth the trip!)
But the sunscreen sells out quickly on the first day :)

I went in for a brazilian and it was GREAT!
It isn't a particularly trendy/upscale looking place, but compared to some waxes I've received at places that are-- Mila's wins HANDS DOWN!
The woman I had (whose name I can't remember offhand) was extremely professional, and made sure I was comfortable with the process (which is always appreciated).
And the wax itself was really interesting and VERY effective as well!
It's thicker than conventional wax, dries to your skin and then is peeled from your skin itself.
And-- unlike my experience at the last place I went to for a wax-- my SUPER-sensitive skin isn't irritated at all.
PLUS they didn't make me buy a product to diminish ingrown hairs (another trendy spa I went to did, and even though I'm sure it was effective, and I'm glad to have it on-hand, it BURNED like a mo-fo when I first applied it!)
And the room I was in had a skylight that was a nice distraction while I was being waxed.
(Improved the relatively casual atmosphere of the spa itself)
So! Long story short-- try it out.
Best $30 I've spent in a LONG while!
I'll go back for sure. I recommend this place- 100% and THEN some! :)
(Always a comfort-- and minor victory-- when you feel like you've found a waxer for good!)
and given the level of service I got, I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try some of the other services they offer-- facials, ear candling, etc.
Hidden gem in Toronto :)
