I know what you are thinking, why would I buy mascara at the dollar store?! But really I am obsessed with mascara and will try any kind once (twice if I forget!). And really it isn't bad! It works just as well as most average priced mascaras... +
I know what you are thinking, why would I buy mascara at the dollar store?! But really I am obsessed with mascara and will try any kind once (twice if I forget!). And really it isn't bad! It works just as well as most average priced mascaras. This one also has a handy mirror for when you are in a rush and have to apply make up en route. We all know half the magic is in the wand, so if I wanted I could use a better wand, but I have to say that for $1 this product was pretty good. It comes off easily with soap and water, doesn't flake off or smudge or irritate my eyes. Not that you want to sleep in it (I tested this too, and looked like a raccoon...), and two applications are required, but that is normal. So if you are feeling a pinch in the pocketbook, here is a way to save and not feel guilty for looking great! -

I would definitely give it a try in a more appropriate colour, one that is more basic and 'lasting' in terms of colours that are always in fashion. -
Breathe Right Nasal Strips
My boyfriend used this last night, and I was able to sleep the night through, and sleep in, thanks to these strips! He snores really loudly, even leaving the room doesn't always do the trick. I was impressed with these. They stayed on all night... +

I was impressed with these. They stayed on all night, and gave me the rest I craved. One of 2 snores did escape towards morning, but they were isolated. My boyfriend claims he can breathe better, and wants to wear them all the time! He refuses to take them off, and is convinced that breathing better will help him throughout the day. We will definitely be using this nightly, it is worth EVERY penny. -

If you have a great aunt to buy for every Christmas you will be excited about this story! She collects Royal Doulton figurines, of which I do not share her taste, nor do I have knowledge in this area. However, I found one at Home Sense last year, and it was $80.00! Well, I received an email on Boxing Day just GUSHING about how much she loved it, and how generous I was! So this year I went back to Home Sense, and there was another one, for $50.00! So of course I bought it. I then went to the White Oaks mall here in London, and they have a Royal Doulton outlet, and it was there (exact same one) for $149.00. The salesman boasted that they had them quite cheaply, and I was tempted to say something but held my tongue. I have just now checked online on their website, and the exact same figurine is $325!!!!! My math skills are so poor I cannot calculate the savings, but I know it is major!!!!
Thoroughly satisfied with my purchase, and I know Great Aunt Beatrice will be thrilled :) I heart you Home Sense!

This book is hilarious! As a 'good girl' I was attracted to the title, and has turned out to be a funny and informative read! For all you gals who think all magazines are dirty, sex toys dirty and pornos wrong, read this! The author is well... +
This book is hilarious! As a 'good girl' I was attracted to the title, and has turned out to be a funny and informative read! For all you gals who think all magazines are dirty, sex toys dirty and pornos wrong, read this! The author is well educated (3 degrees, one from Harvard), funny, a surprisingly good writer (she is a freelance writer) and did all the work for us. She makes up a list of things us girls are curious about when it comes to porn, and don't necessarily want to go through 50 products/toys to find what they want. She visits brothels, attends sex seminars, tries sex toys, vibrators and other bedroom accessories. The things that happen to her on said journey are hilarious, and kept me entertained!
For those watching your pocketbook this close to the holiday season, you can find it at your local library (as I did). Chapters has the cheapest price at $11.22 (for you Irewards people only $10.66). Amazon.ca also has it, but their prices vary - used ones are very cheap, but be careful about shipping and duty etc.
A great, informative and light read from the world's first Anthropornologist!

I have given this line a few days and have to say it doesn't work for me. The first time, I used it and let my hair dry naturally with the mouse. My hair dried into some very pretty curls (may hair is wavy), and I was happy to have the nice curls, but it wasn't what was advertised! The second time I blow dried it, and didn't see much of a difference. I still have to blow dry and straighten my hair while using this product, so it doesn't make much sense to me. However, I like the look of the bottles, the way the product makes my hair feel (so soft!), and most of all my boyfriend keeps commenting on how nice my hair smells! So while I may not buy this particular line again in future, I will definitely buy other Herbal Essences products. -

I lasted 1 day, and then couldn't stand it and had to buy it! I was disappointed only that what I predicted came true, otherwise it is a fantastic ending to the best series since Lord of the Rings. It encompasses all age groups, inspires imagination, asks critical social questions, challenges our notions of what children and adults are capable of, an is deeply steeped in mythology. The intertextuality various levels of reading left me giggling many a time! I also love to visit various sites and learn the different meanings behind certain thing, like name choices and the meaning of wood in wands etc.
I would recommend this book/entire series to everyone.
