I absolutely LOVE Mac eye shadows. Nothing matches them in quality and range of colours. If applied with their shade sticks, the eye shadows also turn a different shade, 2 looks with one colour! I love how I can wear a faint dusting for a soft day-time look, and apply a heavier dose at night for something more exotic and flirty. It means having to carry less make-up when traveling! -

Absolutely loved this book. Khaled Hosseini surprised me, as his previous novel, The Kite Runner, featured mainly male characters. His latest work follows 2 women during war torn Afghanistan, and gives a human, realistic look at the other side. Although not 'chic lit', I do feel this is a good read for/about women, and would recommend it to all my girlfriends. It is a sad journey that this book takes us on, but ends with a message of hope, and does not come across as preachy, nor does it point fingers; simply a story of women at war in their personal lives while another one wages around them. -
