I bought a gorgeous burgundy colour ("Wine and Forever") for this fall, but I wish I had researched it a bit more before investing. It's not an expensive line ($10 or under), but it fails to deliver on the long-lasting effects, and it is difficult to get the desired pigmentation. I wasn't expecting a full 14 hour coverage, but it wears off of me within the hour. The matte finish is really nice, but it tends to dry out my lips - and then I have to apply lip gloss or chap, which ruins the matte and further reduces the coverage longevity.
In regards to the pigmentation - like I said, it is difficult to achieve perfection. The lipstick goes on nicely, but fades very quickly, and I found my colour to be disappearing after a single Kleenex pucker. I also found that any residiual colour that manages to stay on for a few hours eventually begins to look like lip liner as everywhere else fades - not great for a dark lip colour!
Not sure if the lighter colours are any better, but if you're going dark - go better quality.

We always have this available in the house for everything from scrapes to the more serious cuts. My boyfriend accidentally sliced off the tip of his finger using a mandolin (gross, I know), and used this covered in gauze to heal rather than getting a prescription. Within about two weeks his finger was fine, no scarring.
I don't think it's a miracle worker, and if you have a serious injury you should obviously go to the hospital, but it's a medkit must have for at-home injuries and ailments!

I chose #66, which is an incredible pink colour. It's very bright and last for quite a long time. The colour goes on great with the first application, and I've gotten a ton of compliments on it because it really pops. The lipstick itself actually smells great (weird, I know, but kind of fun!).
The only downside I have found is that it actually dries out my lips a little bit, so I always apply it with a bit of chapstick over top or have lip gloss handy when I'm wearing it. It's easy to apply something moisturizing on top because it is a matte lipstick.

I also noticed it helped minimize my pores, which was a big plus. My face always feels great after I use it, and I feel like it makes my skin glow.
The one downside is the price - it's about $70 for the 75g bottle. I'm still debating whether I'll invest in it when my promo sized version is done, but there's a good chance I will because it is one of the best products I have come across for my skin.

I signed up for Goodlife about 2 years ago, and a few friends have signed up since based on my thoughts about the gym.
I was really hesitant to sign the contract initially because of everything I have heard from everyone about how it's some big scam. The rep who helped me with the contract was actually very honest about contract stipulations, so I found that helped me make a decision. Plus, even though they occasionally rush you through the signing (not me, but I've seen it happen to other people), make sure you read the contract fully and there's really nothing too bizarre or unfair about it.
The only downside is that they have to take the money from a bank account rather than a credit card. It would be nice to collect points...
I've been going to the Bloor Park location for the entire time I've had my membership. The staff are alright - hit or miss, as some are super friendly and some are people you'd rather avoid. The classes are at fairly convenient times, and it's a big location so there are usually quite a few free machines.
The winter hours aren't the best (closed at 9 on Fridays), but aside from that, no major qualms.

It's really good for setting a calorie goal/limit and then being aware of your intake. I've been using it for over a month and I've been pretty pleased with how much more I know about what I consume now.

They treat all kinds of pets - exotic animals included.
I had a rabbit who got sick and this was the only clinic I could find that would help me out - everywhere else wanted me to wait or pay a ridiculous price up front. Dr. Munn was very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately my rabbit passed away shortly after the visit, and they offered genuine condolences. I have since switched over my other pets because I was so impressed by the kindness and repore of every staff member.
The front room is a bit small, but aside from that, it's a very pleasant clinic and I don't think I'd take my pets elsewhere unless I moved out of the city.

When I started running in the summer I ran into problems trying to store everything I would need on my run - none of my warm-weather gear had pockets that zipped closed. A friend recommended I grab one of these wrist cuffs and they are awesome. I bought one for myself, my boyfriend and have even given some as gifts. At $10, they're a bit expensive for what is basically a wrist band, but they're really useful.
They fold twice, so your items will be secure, and they fit a surprising amount. On any given day, I can run with money (bills or change) or a debit card, my house keys (building and apartment doors) and tissue tucked inside the band, without losing anything or feeling it during the work out. I've even started using it in cardio classes or spin classes, when I need easy access to tissues or a place to store my gym card.
Like I said, for what it is, it seems expensive - but if you can't find a cheaper alternative or make your own, I'd recommend! I've used mine more than enough since buying it to justify the cost.

I've never been able to wear headbands because they always end up slipping off my hair. I bought one of these because I liked the colour selection and was totally won over by the promises of no-slip. Overpriced for a headband, especially because the whole "no-slip" thing ended up being bogus. It does stay on a bit longer than other headbands, but eventually goes the same route.
They look nice aesthetically, but I don't think they're worth the cost. If you're actually wearing a headband for physical activity, there are cheaper options that are equally as effective.

I don't know about the breath-freshening claims as I've never found they make much of a difference, but totally my go to product for gloss. -
