Lindt Lindor Chocolate Truffles
Got these for Christmas from my daughter. Definitely satisfied my craving for good tasting chocolate! I loved these so much that, when Boxing Day arrived, I went to the store and bought pretty near a box full!

Dairy Queen Blizzard Cakes

It was awesome to be one of the chosen ones to review a Dairy Queen cake! As soon as I got my $35 gift card in the mail I consulted with family as to what kind we should order for my nephew's birthday. There was a pretty decent selection to choose from, and we ended up settling on a 10" Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard cake.
We wanted it be a bit different than the usual birthday cake, so, as a joke, we got them to customize it with "Don't Worry, Be Happy." (It turned out to be just what he needed, as, after we presented him with the cake, he told us that he just got fired from his job, and the "Don't Worry, Be Happy." made him laugh, and he needed that.)
As for the actual quality of the cake, I'd say they did a beautiful job decorating it, right down to choosing an appropriate colour for the words. The taste was quite good, although we would have preferred it if their special fudge crunch center extended right to the sides of the cake, so that everyone could have a bit in their slice of cake. We weren't too happy that there was just over an inch - worth of plain vanilla surrounding the turtle pecan cluster center. Good thing we chose the bigger cake as everyone wanted a bit of that yummy fudge crunchy stuff.
No complaints about the service at pick-up. The fellow who served me was very nice and even put the cake into a bag so that I could carry it easily as I was walking with a cane. Very pleased with the gentleman.
Definitely will be coming back for more, but next time, I think I'll try one of the tortes they have up for grabs. And yes, I will pass it on that our local DQ has terrific cakes and service.

My willpower goes right down the drain when I stumble upon a stack of these things! I forget what I went to the store for and leave with nothing but a grocery bag full of Cadbury Mini Eggs, much to the dismay of my doctor who scolds me about my chocolate consumption! But, tell me, who, in their right mind, can say no to the sweet, crunchy shell and decadent chocolate center? Now, If only I could befriend the chicken that lays these delicious little treats and have her move in with me! -

I really like the way this conditioner behaves with my hair. I have a bit of natural curl that tends to get out of hand. I find this product keeps my curls bouncy and in control for the better part of the day. I love the way it smells and makes my hair soft and manageable. I actually prefer it to some of the salon brands I've used in the past. And, it's quite affordable, which is very nice in this poor economy of late. -

I remember the grand opening of the Winners store in my city. I'd never been to a Winners store before so I was excited about this one coming to town. Long line up at the opening... people were stopped at the doorway by security as they were only allowing a few people in at a time. The security people were nasty and rude (but that could be because they were "rented" from another company for the day). Anyways, after about 40 minutes wait, it was finally my turn to enter the store...
I was very disappointed in what I saw as I strolled through the aisles. The quality of the products on sale was below even Value Village's standards! Clothes were torn, glass items chipped, even packages of socks were torn apart. It took me some 15 minutes just to find some staff to assist me in my search for a product. Definitely not something to be excited about, that's for sure! But, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured the disastrous mob had something to do with the condition of the items I saw on that grand opening day.
I gave the store a couple of weeks and paid another visit. I really didn't find it in much better condition than the first time I went. Everything was messed up and strewn all over the place. Items were broken, packages torn open... When walking through the women's clothing area, I stumbled upon what appeared to be vomit on the floor! I got the attention of a member of staff and informed them about the "vomit" on the floor. And, what did they say to me? "Oh, we know, we just haven't had the chance to deal with it yet."
So, just for the heck of it, I went a few aisles away from the vomit and watched out of the corner of my eye to see how long they would take to clean it up. I hung around for around 20 minutes and still none of the staff made any effort to clean it up... their idle time was spent talking about someone's stag party! Another 15 or so minutes passed and still the vomit had not been dealt with! I was totally disgusted and walked out without purchasing anything.
The general lack of order and unclean condition of the store makes me think that the management of these stores really needs to have a good talking to! Hire people who can be trained to do their job right and check up on them from time to time to make sure everything is up to par.
Then I have to hear stupid songs with skinny, bony and unattractive models prancing around in television commercials advertising the store.... Ugghhh!!! Nope! Definitely not going shopping at Winners any time soon!!!
